    if you minus 240-165 = 75 it gives number of marks that are wrong and if you divide it by 5 then it gives total number of questions that were wrong and it's 15 remaining 45 questions are right
    that is the easiest method to calculate this question

      70% alcohol in first mixture is equal to the 60 % alcohol in the new mixture.

      105/60*100 = 175 this is the value of whole new mixture in which 105 is alcohol so 70 is total water of which I already have 45 water so added water is 25.

    For the train and bus question, we can also find the answer with keeping the total distance bus and train can travel in 6 hours
    Bus = 240, Train = 335, Distance covered = 285
    So difference = 45,45 Ratio = 1:1
    If we divide 6 hours in 1:1, it becomes 3 and 3 hours
    Now distance travelled in bus = 40*3 = 120kms
    Distance travelled in Train = 55*3 = 165kms

    From where 27:1 came?

  • @varunkhatri5693
    @varunkhatri5693 7 месяцев назад +1

    23:53 won't the 5 wickets be multiplied with 28 (27 + 1) as ratio is 27 : 1
    So, Till now ratio is 27/28
    And This match ( last match) is 1/28
    So for adding all the wickets we need to consider (28 * 5) = 140.
    or explaining it simply previous 135 wickets + 5 (last match wickets) = 140 wickets in total
    If someone agrees or disagree tell me.

    • @sibanandapurohit
      @sibanandapurohit 6 месяцев назад

      No, Because the 1 in the 27:1 represents the wicket part of the match with 5 wickets and 37 runs and 27 represents the wicket part of the match before the last match(5W, 37R) and the question is been asked about the number of wickets before this match(5W, 37R)

    If 10 kg of sugar costing ₹15/kg and 20 kg of salt costing ₹10/kg are mixed, find the average cost of the mixture in per kilogram .... By distance method I m not getting the answer can anyone explain me how to do this question with only distance method

    • @rikky6769
      @rikky6769 12 дней назад +1

      Summarising the data given,
      10 kg sugar --> Rs 15/kg
      20 kg salt --> Rs 20/kg
      From this we can derive weight ratio = 10:20 --> 1:2
      Therefore Price (distance) ratio = 2:1 (just inverse)
      Now, the task is to find the mean price between Rs 10 and Rs 15 in the ratio of 2:1 (derived above)
      This means that the mean price/ average price (Let's suppose X) lies :
      2 parts less than 15, and
      1 part more than 10
      In simple language,
      Average price = 15 - 2 part )
      Or. ) -------- (i)
      Average price = 10 + 1 part )
      Difference between 15-10 = 5 units
      Total of 2:1 ratio = 2+1 = 3 parts
      So, 5 units has to be divided among 3 parts.
      So, 3 part = 5 units
      1 part = 5/3 = 1.67
      2 part = 10/3 = 3.33
      From (i)
      15 - 3.33 = 10 + 1.67 = 11.67
      So, Rs 11.67 is the average cost of the mixture in per kilogram.
      You can watch Sir's 1st lecture.

    It's kinda unfair that they're taking cricket, etc as base topics that everyone should be aware of. They don't do it with other sports, and its not so easy to know that the bowling average needs to be minimized for improvement, and not maximized (eg. in the case of batting average, it's the opposite; maximization increases average)

    1/3 of 450 is 150 and sold for 10% loss means at 135.
    Now,
    Remaining is goods is of ₹300
    20% of 450 = 540
    And, we have to recover that ₹15 amount also.
    It will be ₹555
    Remaining goods ₹300 will be sold for 85% profit = 300x185/100= ₹555
    HENCE,
    We gained the ₹540, which is equal to 20% of ₹450.
    So, the remaining goods should be sold at 85% profit.

      take 1.2 and 1.4 write them as 12/10 and 14/10 multiply in denominator and numerator by 15 (to get LCM of 150 in all 3 denominators) and get 180/150 and 210/150 --> (194-180) : (210-194) = 14:16 = 7:8

    Why can't we solve the third question by total distance method (like question 1 and 2). Meaning we solve it like:
    If all travelling was done by bus. It would have been 6×40 =240 km and if all travelling was done by train it would have been 6×55= 330 km. Total distance travelled is 285. Distance ratio is 1:1 so weight ratio also 1:1. Since we have taken out total distance in the weight ratio of 1:1 so we divide the total distance travelled that is 285 km in 1:1 ratio meaning 142.5 km by bus and 142.5 km by train.
    I understand the other method used in the video, but what if i did it by the other method why am i getting a different answer?
    How will i know which method to use in exam. Its confusing me.
    Someone please explain.

      There is a way to get an idea. Remember in first lecture of Mixture and Allegation, when sir was doing derivation in that see-saw method, we got an equation-
      w1d1=w2d2
      How did we got this? Because of the fact that 'w' is inversely proportional to 'd' , hence the above equation.This is the funda!!
      To determine what data should be used in weight method, this should always be there on back of our mind that the 2 variables should have inverse relationship.
      In TIME SPEED AND DISTANCE, we have-
      Distance = Speed x Time.
      So, only Speed and Time have inverse relationship. So, we have considered 40 km/hr and 55 km/hr as 'Distance' and respective time have been taken as 'weights' in the "See-Saw weight method".
      Using this same technique, we can also understand that Cricket wala question.
      Bowler's Average = Run conceded / wickets taken.
      Here, Inverse relationship is there between Bowlers's Average and Wickets Taken.
      (More the number of wickets, less will be the Bowlers Average i.e. runs conceded to pick up 1 wicket)
      Hence, Bowler's average and Wickets Taken have been used in see-saw weight method.
      Hope this helps.

    In the examination question of 60 questions....i think the answer would be correct- 35 and wrong- 25...then only it's coming (35*4)+(25*1)=165
    Here it's given (45*4)+(15*1)=195..but the total marks is 165
    If we do the sum by the basic method by assuming correct answers as x and wrong as 60-x then
    4x+1*(60-x)=165
    3x=105
    x=35
    Thus correct=35 & wrong=25

      What was shown in the video is the only correct answer. The questions answered wrongly are awarded (-1) marks. You are supposed to subtract them from the score you get by answering correctly. 45x4=180. 15x(-1)= -15. 180-15 = 165.

    Alternate Method :
    Total distance by bus = 40x6 = 240
    Total distance by train = 55x6 = 155
    avg. = 285
    Difference(Bus) = 285-240 = 45
    Difference(Train) = 330-285 = 45
    Distance ration = 1 : 1
    Weight ratio = 1 : 1
    Divide 6 hours in 2 parts
    By bus = 3 hours
    By train = 3 hours
    Bus = 3x40km/h = 120km
    Train = 3x55km/h = 165km

    3:38 Sir, the calculation is also very easy, we just have to convert the decimal value into fraction which becomes 12/10 for boys and14/10 for girls. There after we make the denominator value as 150 by multiplying both the fraction value by 15 which becomes 180/150 for boys and 210/150 for girls. Calculation becomes very easy from here onwards, no need proceed with decimal value.
