This tutorial is FANTASTIC.
had an issue with my computer taking multiple minutes on a single simple HD sized photo (I'd have just gotten an 3060TI so it was odd because it was rather loud as well). Task manager said all the toll is going to my CPU and this is the first video that had taken me through every step. No clue what i'd have done without knowing about tiling, which was set to 2048 before this.

1. My Tile Size defaults to 2048, which I did not change.
2. Also, the GPU usage is 11% but CPU usage is still maxed out.

Could you talk a bit about the differences between CPU and GPU rendering? I remember watching something about it a while ago and there seemed to be some downsides with for example glass rendering, where it had a tendency to come out worse with GPU rendering. That was with Maya, arnold though, It might be different with blender.

But the problem is, I have a GPU but it doesn't support blender 3.X.. :( If the support is blended 2.9, it always crashes when I want to undo for something. And want to buy a new GPU is vvveeerrryyy expensive, or a laptop...

Help! When I go to preferences, it doesnt look like it does when you did it at 1:55! all I see is Memory & limits, video sequencer and sound, with no option to change my GPU. Does this have anything to do with the version of blender I'm using?
(I am using blender 3.0, but I am running it on my imac, maybe it doesn't have a GPU?) (I don't really know what I'm talking about in terms of computers)

Do u know what might be causing a CUDA illegal location error message when trying to render. You just have to select cuda option and not selecting anything else before save preference..even after that if you select anything else it might save that since auto save preference
