What's in a legacy? Following the events of Infinity War and Endgame, Marvel has been concerned with passing on the mantle of Iron Man and Captain America. But, as I'll explore in this video essay, the journeys of Peter Parker and Sam Wilson have been very different. From Spider-Man: Far from Home to the Falcon and the Winter Soldier (or is that Captain America and the Winter Soldier?) I review the series as a whole whilst breaking down how the legacy of Captain America is explored. Featuring Sam Wilson, Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier, the mighty Thanos and his armies, Tony Stark, Steve Rogers and of course... redwing...

Captain America and the Spider-Man?
@@FullFatVideos Yes please 😊
cap is dead. long live cap. NICE
Civil War 2 lets go!
I wonder how they're gonna interact, like what kind of dynamic would exist between a nerdy high school kid and a back-from-retirement veteran?
I have no idea and I'm so excited
The new goggles/headpiece really made me realise how unprotected both Sam and other Avengers heads are.
yeah, at the same time i wouldnt want him in a cap america helmet - (although a white version of that would be cool)
Can’t cover up your actors faces since that what the studio is paying for lol
- Who the hell are you?
- I am Captain Amer- (gets fucking sniped)
Did we just ignore how unprotected Black Widow and Hawkeye's heads were for *years?*
I think that's actually part of the genius of the MCU. They make sure to reveal the heros faces enough to make us really connect with them.
The opening snap went right into an Ad and I lost my shit
This video is amazing
I had no problem with any of the White Captain America suits. They looked good, they're comic accurate, and neither looked like Halloween costumes. Also, Sam Wilson looks GREAT in his Captain America suit. No problem at all.
Really enjoyed the writing in this vid! I never actually made the comparison between Sam and Peter inheriting a certain type of mantle. Constructively, I did find the editing to be a bit choppier in this than your other videos. Pumped to see whats next!
Crazy thing is. I actually think Steve did know the implications of giving Sam the Shield. Think about it, Steve has been around in the modern world for a while now. He was still out of it, in Winter Soldier, but started to fully integrate by the time of Civil War. Then he went on the run and got to see the world from outside the perspective of a shiny SHIELD base or an Avengers HQ. Then the snap happened and Steve spent 5 years learning about the world and seeing how different groups interacted. Pretty sure he saw the kind of world that could be when people come together.
By that point, Steve understood the modern world and therefore what kind of Captain America it needed. To Steve, Sams story is not so different from him in a way. Steve was a weak and sick kid, that everyone looked down on and pitted. He wasn't even given the basic right of every other man his age to serve his country. They saw him as less of a human being.
But Steve still stood up and answered the call to serve his country and then went on to represent it during the war. He represented a country, that before, didnt represent him.

Honestly, I love the suit. But I will never complain about even more super hero costumes!
Dude! The editing is sooo good. It was so satisfying and I got goosebumps watching it. Extremely well made video and great analysis
I am excited to see Tom's Peter and Anthony's Sam intact since comics Peter and Sam have a weird dynamic. Comics versions don't hate each other, but they don't know each other that well or get along that great
You are just an excellent content creator. I love the passion and care you put into your videos, it shows.
Is no one else going to comment on the kick arse editing of this video?
OUTSTANDING WORK!
Oh my god the editing is fucking amazing!!! The transitions are phenomenal. Love this video it's so cool and brings up so many good points. Thanks for this man. Much Love ♥♥
Thank you! I worked hard on it!
@@FullFatVideos I really love your content man, keep it going and don't listen to the haters man. Us film essayist gotta stick together 😎😉
Your editing was so good
Honestly, Peter needed to spend more time with Steve. He has a lot in common with both Tony and Steve, taking the best of their characteristics like Tony’s ingenuity and guilt-driven need to do good and Steve’s heart and strength of character.
Finally someone who has faith in this show. I’ve heard so many negative things but I’m glad I still checked it out. I don’t regret it one bit. Captain America is my favorite Avenger and I’m so happy they continued the story following the comic books and watching Falcon become Captain America. I also absolutely love the addressed racism and the still flawed current state of America. I absolutely love this show and hope more people give it a chance. Also I’m excited for the future of Spider-Man being my favorite Marvel hero too and how he will inevitably fight alongside the new Captain America.
A-Train called - he wants his suit back!
Amazing!
Thank you! Cheers!
@@FullFatVideos Cheers!
The goofy face you made at the end of the Hover ad, did you get that from Italian Spiderman?
I think the Sam cap suit was almost perfect
Just knock a few inches off the top of the white on the goggles
Maybe the goggles then a small strip of white on the top , I think it might be a little much
But I still loved it and it suited him
Also removing the neckpiece/chops area and allowing Anthony's ears to not be squished by the cowl would help quite a bit
I want Peter to meet morgan stark So badly.
the hot toy figure form captain falcon looks cool, cant say the say in action tho looks goofy at times
Love the white cap suit
They finally integrated social justice issues amazingly within the MCU. It was bloody beautiful, you have to give them credit for that.
Second this, was scared if they did it that it’d be forced and cringe, but I’m impressed
Love it how going
I still don't like that he never took the super serum.
The super serum makes everything Steve Roger's cap does believable.
The wing suit doesn't do the same for Sam's cap, it fails to destain disbelief, and pulls me out of the fiction.
I love Captain Falcon, and will watch anything he's a part of. But damn do I wish he took that serum.
0:00-1:10 wow
thank you!!
I think Steve not considering Sam’s race is actually a great thing, not a flaw. As a black man I find it quite irritating how often people ask or assume things based on my race. Steve saw Sam for what he was, a good man. As MLK said, “ I look to a day when people will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Steve truly exemplified that.
You know who else said that? Deadpool. lmao
Thanks for that. Wish I could thumbs up you more than once.
“There is one race, the human race” - some based dude idk the name of
Yeah but this ain't what they want, they always wanna make everything about race and gender. I got called a delusional racist once when I said, that I don't look at skin color, nationality and gender when talking to people. I just call people a man or woman and by their names and not like them, calling everyone by their skin color first smh... all this hypocrisy, hate, double standards, immediately making every lil thing about race and politics, this nonsense is so annoying🚮
I always notice in peoples stories that they tell, its always a "white guy" or a "black guy when it has no bearing on the story
I really hope Peter and Sam get a relationship like Steve and Tony, although hopefully a bit more friendly long term.
When Tony and Steve first met they bickered constantly and were pretty much frenemies for a couple movies. Based on civil war, I’d say Peter and Sam are on the same path.
Anthony Mackie and Tom Holland have so much fun with each other. I think Marvel won’t miss the chance to give them banters and stuff.
Spiderman is considered an international criminal in Spider-Man 2.
I think the tables will be turned, where Sam will be fighting Spiderman in the name of the law.
Sam has no reason to like Spiderman since first time they met, he fought. I think Sam will eventually realize Spiderman is a good guy, but he will not initially feel that way
@Oni Chan why not?
@Oni Chan What?
It’s weird how they’re kinda opposites from their hero’s. Peter is enhanced like cap and doesn’t really need tech if he works hard enough. Falcon is a guy in a suit who needs the tech to act but it doesn’t make him any less of a hero.
Well he has web shooters, so he kinda does need them sometimes.
@@ItzOddwin so basically the bare minimum like with Captain America he doesn't really need much health The only high-tech thing you have and was the magnet for his shield
@@ItzOddwin lol
@@ItzOddwin he definitely doesn’t need them, as proven at the end of the far from home battle

Calling Batman a "bird themed hero" is an... interesting choice
That's definitely the most diplomatic way to say it.
I was expecting a quick cutaway to Michael Keaton as the Vulture, since he was also, you know....

I knew someone was gonna call him out on that 😂

Oh my god. Captain America and Spider-Man have opposite color schemes now.

The new uniform is probably my favourite of the new ones, the cowl is comic accurate without being too goofy, the white makes it unique, can't think of anything bad to say about it. Its just cool as fuck
I think it's still goofy. Some shots look like Mackie is uncomfortable in it.
I was thinking the same thing
they still have to use post production to fix the gaps in the cowl and hide velcro straps tho which is crazy
The only part that bothered me is that the ear holes are too low/small so his ears get a bit scrunched and it looks hella uncomfortable 😅
Rewatch the speech scene or any part where his head is close up and you'll see what I mean lol
It's too... thick. It looks like it doesn't fit Anthony that well.
I'm now seeing how the interaction between Tom Holland and Anthony Mackie especially at the interviews works well for them to carry the torch. Besides the banter, they have shown that they can work well together and even have fans on either side.
that would be cool to see
The upside of the very white cap suit is that it is highly visible in darker scenes. It pops out amongst the what does with only dim lighting, so directors have liberty to get a little more creative with shadows.
Fun fact, TFATWS director recently said that he wanted Spidey to appear in the finale New York battle but Feige said, "No, stop it."
I agree with Feige, that cameo would've been distracting.
I mean..jumpy french guy was out of nowhere already. That would stink to have another out of nowhere character
Just a mid-credit scene of Spidey showing up late, whining on how he's late, and Sam says: "Hey, Wussup Webhead."
*end scene*
A really short cameo would have been nice but it's probably not in the contract between Sony and Disney. Anything more would have shifted the focus off of Sam and therefore would have been distracting. Plus, paying Tom Holland to do a longer gig probably would have skyrocketed the budget.
The way it played out, Spidey wouldn't have time to react. The whole event resolved itself pretty fast so by the time he would of notice it probably belong over.
I think this might be your best essay. The way you recut footage to support your thesis was excellent!
thank you! I worked real hard on this one!
seems like theyre doing a reversal, with the science guy being the brawler-type with gadgets, and the charisma guy being the flying ranged guy who can also brawl
Spidermans also charismtic its just they toned it down in the movies thats actually a tactic he tends to do when fighting, to get uner there skin make them make a mistake out frustration
@@orange2694 We definitely saw some classic spider-quipping in the mob fight in Far From Home and the friendly neighborhood montage in Homecoming.
@@StealthGamer37 hopefully they’ll build on that character some more :)
Specifically the moment where Sam uses the shield and his wings to protect someone was the moment I realised how much I loved this Cap
That was definitely a great idea, having the wings and shield turn into a mobile vibranium bunker.
@Oni Chan have you watched black panther? It isnt rare at all.
@Oni Chan ok dont know why you talking on the internet.
Sam's suit is INCREDIBLE. That white absolutely POPS and it just looks so good
@Kristopher Prime I think the racism part is fitting in the plot tbh, I think it’s just the fact that so many other pieces of media try to do the same makes the racism plot lines less interesting
@Kristopher Prime The show would be awful and unrealistic if they ignored the racism Sam would very much face as a black man. It was completely necessary. You basically want the show to be different. Something...boring.
@Kristopher Prime yikes
@Kristopher Prime if they didn’t tackle racism this show would be dog shit and would make no sense bruh
@@CrossOutBryce true. I was disgusted by the idea of a black man being captain america, but this show kind of eased me into it.
One way we can be sure that Sam is the Captain America for our modern age is that his suit was made in a foreign country.
I audibly laughed at that
Sam's captain America suit is the coolest suit imo in the mcu. Nailed the comic book accuracy and God damn Anthony mackie looking bad ass in it
So far the suits for phase 4 are comic accurate
"Captain America is dead. Long live Captain America." What a perfect sentiment.
@Oni Chan Yeah, it seems that people are forgetting all the hints towards him still being alive in the show.
What do you mean he’s on the moon
@LuNa well, he probably doesn't have long left...
Stupid, he's on the moon.
What I really love about the mcu is that they keep evolving the suits. They could have just kept Ironman's suit that takes a huge machine to put on the whole time, but each movie it gets more advanced until he uses nanotechnology.
What kind of sours that evolution for me, is that if they were for arguments sake to design a suit that would be considered "perfect", they would redesign it for the next movie. It's not that the plot of the next movie would require a suit upgrade, but a significant source of revenue for these movies comes from toy sales. Especially with the more popular characters, the film studios would expect suit upgrades for every movie to enable them to create and sell new toys.
@@Shp0ngIed oooo I see
The evolution of Tony's suits has really been a subplot through the whole MCU. Every time he strives to have a suit with him wherever he goes, available at any moment. No suit better emphasizes this than the mark 42 which was explicitly stated to be his intention honestly. But his goal was completed with infinity war's nanosuit which really should have been evidence of his imposing death as Iron Man's (as a suit) journey to perfection had been completed.
The MCU is like a never ending story in a good way. WandaVision is a really good show, even The Falcon and The Winter Soldier proves to be excellent. Both of those series turned out great without being movies, but both still connect with the films.
@LuNa It literally connects with the Cap trilogy and Black Panther.
The MCU is becoming the comics without having to retcon shit and restore the status quo all the time. Characters die and stay dead, and their arcs have an actual ending (for now, at least).
I love it.
That funky editing is too good, you're making me want stuff I didn't even know I wanted. Sam and Pete need a reunion. I mean, I'm sure words were shared at Tony's funeral, like, everyone got to speak to each other at least once, right, but I want to see it on screen now.
Man I actually really hate the way the MCU is doing Spider-Man,is like they never read a damn comic, that isn’t Spider-Man,that’s not how he’s supposed to act and he never was friends with Tony Stark in the comics,Tony was never he’s mentor(Only in the ultimate comics but it was more of a Genius Mentor thing) I hate it so much how they made Spider-Man(A guy who has been his own hero since 1962) freaking Iron Boy Jr,freaking hell
@@WoopyG He ain't Iron Boy Jr... You clearly missed the point of both movies. Homecoming was him learning he didn't need Iron Man's help to be a hero, and could do it on his own. Far From Home was him learning he didn't need to be the next Iron Man, only himself, Happy litteraly stated that. God, you people want to hate MCU Spidey so much, you ignore the literal plots of each film
Sam’s Cap suit is an absolute banger, I frikin love it so much
Sam’s suit kinda needs to be modded a bit I mean his ears are also really exposed and so many people could I dunno, like shoot his ears or something idk
(Edit) I was pretty much joking about the ears thing, calm down
I think they will cap suit never stay the same in every movie so as tony suit.
Ears being exposed? That's the comic book look though...
Why are people bitching about believability in this universe? It's clear that the writers will find a way to make it work.
its perfect idc what anyone says. My ears stuck out my cowl.
Didn't Steve's helmet have his ears sticking out? Didn't Black Widow and Hawkeye have zero head gear to protect themselves? Why is everyone all of a sudden pointing out the lack of safety gear in marvel? Besides Sam literally has vibranium wings with a suit most likely fitted with vibranium weaving, and a pretty much indestructible shield. This is a comic book film😂
They would just get cold, his wings would block shots to the head
Seeing Sam as cap for the first time really gave me "wow this is like a comic book brought to life" and I really dig that. Can't wait to see Jane foster as Thor now
Personally I am not looking forward to Jane foster as Thor
@@oscarrenouf why is that? Were you not a fan of her comic run?
@@6cmh3 within the MCU, her character is just the definition of MEH. Her being Thor would mean nothing but a push for a female Thor.

Tom Holland's acting is so good. You guys keep plugging that sad scene, and I keep briefly tearing up. That's nuts
Walker bullys? He's getting bullied if you mean that. He just wants to team up with sam and bucky but they don't like him for something that's not his fault. To me he's the more human version of steve. Steve is almost perfect, walker is flawed. Walker is a good man but not as good as steve. After his friend dies he loses his morals which i think most people would. Steve didn't. His story was doomed to go down the road from the beginning, he could not live to the expectations even tho he already was a war hero. In this way it was "good" that sam had too much doubt to pick up the shield at first, this could've been him. It's just he was chosen by steve to be the next cap. He talked with bucky and then had another 70 to think about it. Sam didn't need to trust himself the man that was never wrong about anything saw he was the right man.
Right! Like how was he a bully?
"Another bird based superhero"
do...do you think bats are birds?
no hahah that would be dumb do you hey everybody this person thinks bats are birds who me no this person
Much like cap and tony were basically the beating heart of the MCU, I want Sam and Peter to be of that kind of importance going forward. I just hope they make it work and I really hope that’s what they’re going with moving forward as they are some of the strongest characters in their collection rn.
I think that it’s really interesting how both Peter and Sam are honoring the people who they looked up to but in different ways. Sam is literally becoming the next Captain America and Peter is taking up Tony’s role as the worlds greatest superhero. Both are even going through troubles that will affect how people look at them, Sam being black while also being Cap and Peter literally being accused of murder. I hope they interact more, it will be really interesting to see their interactions.

Can u do a video on why John walker and Quentin beck fail to inherit the mantles of Steve and tony
@Oni Chan What?
@Oni Chan what?
Quentin was narcissistic, he didn't really wanted to be a hero like Iron Man but more the fame of it an illusion if you will.
John is not ment to be Capt. America because he is the Perfect Soldier loyal and brave but not a very noble person, his heart was in the right place but his mentality and beliefs are not. (he has more in common with Astartes from Warhammer than Captain America.)
@Oni Chan What does that mean?
@Oni Chan what
Can I just take a minute to commend The Falcon and the Winter soldier for being incredibly well put together. The show might not be amazing. But given that it had an entire arc ripped out due to the pandemic. It functions surprisingly fucking well.
@Hermann Retzlaff watch the show. Think of a virus subplot when watching the first few episodes
Apart from the flagsmashers and the rushed finale, which got screwed up thanks to this pandemic, the show was great imo. Without those two, the show would've been perfect.
FFH and FATWS are my favourite MCU movie and series
Awesome
FATWS is good, FFH is VERY VERY Flawed.
@@segaspice4062 I wouldn’t say very very flawed it has problems but it’s not a bad move.
@@hyperfire1134 My problem is they never adress the problems with Starks legacy. Spider-Man Far From Home is not a good Spider-Man movie, it's a good movie but not a good spidey film. It doesn't address Iron-Man or Tony Starks flaws or that Edith is basically what Hydra was trying to do in Captain America The Winter Soldier. Far From Home suffers from the problem of riding off Iron Man's boots, in an interview they literally said Spider-Man was more of an Iron Man JR than SpiderBoy -_- it's like the writers didn't know what Spider-Man even was and only watched an episode of a cartoon.
@@segaspice4062 my main problem with that criticism is it doesn't really conflict with anything, bringing up the fact that Edith is literally the same thing that Hydra did but from the good guys perspective is not very much of a point because we knew Tony was like that; part of his disagreement with Cap in Civil War was based in their different ways on how to protect the world, he always had the perspective that he was the one to "privatize world peace", (if not him then his successor) this line of thinking is the reason why Ultron happened, this would only be a problem if it goes against his pre-established ideals which it doesn't

The white part of Sam's new suit, that's right above the goggle, and to the side of the head should be a bit smaller, but other than that, it's pretty awesome
At opening edit is just on point
thank you!
The showrunner actually wanted to have a spider-man cameo in Falcon and the Winter's finale Soldier but, Kevin Feige stopped him saying it probably wouldn't make sense as it would put more focus on spider-man than Sam.
I for one enjoyed the Wakandans wooping US Agent. Very cathartic. I also like the cowl but I may be biased.
after everything that's happened and everything falcon and the winter soldier explored thematically, spiderman telling sam his miranda rights at 15:12 is a bit of a yikes from me
I really love Sam's Cap suit tbh! The abundance of white makes it stand out, as you said, and the choice of going for a brighter shade of blue really cements the brighter future Sam Wilson as Captain America will usher in.
I kinda wish the white top of the suite was red instead (no idea if it would look good). Because red is his color from the falcon suite and it would be a nice nod that just because he is captain America now, he was still a hero in his own right before taking up the mantle.
Have you seen agents of SHIELD? It was marvels first tv show, it gets really good, and it would be interesting to hear your thoughts on it compared to the new disney+ shows.
The show is good but it got uninteresting for me in some parts but that’s my opinion you might think different
i love it when Daniel Radcliffe talks about marvel
also editing and a half on this one
The editing in this video is seriously _top notch._ In general, the edits on this channel are _always_ well done but I especially love what was done in this video. Your essays are always beautiful. They feel less like"essays" and (for me, at least) more akin to poetry. The way you explain these characters and their motivations are deeply introspective, and in many cases you even point out things that most other RUclipsrs fail to notice.
As for what I think of Sam's new suit? Admittedly I wasn't initially a fan. I acknowledge the comic book accuracy of it, but for me it didn't immediately translate well to live action. It seemed bulky and campy and reminded me a little _too_ much of the CW's version of the "Kid Flash" suit. I also wasn't a fan of the color scheme with it's majority white (which seemed counterproductive as it will be hard to keep clean) but as an artist myself, I can see why the comics designed it with so much white, as it contrasts nicely against Sam's skin tone, just like the blue created a nice contrast against Steve's. Blue/Red against Sam would probably not translate well in night scenes. (My skin color is about the same as Anthony Mackie's, and certain colors tend to "blend in" with my skin in older photographs taken in darker, shadowy areas)
“The only power I have is that I believe we can do better” is such a perfect line
Gotta admit the cowl doesn’t hit for me, otherwise its dope. I just dont think the cowl fits Anthony’s headshape. The comic cowl looks way more badass but its cause of the rectangular headshape
It'll never happen, but can you imagine if Sam and Bucky having to team up with Peter? They'll be so stressed out.

@Oni Chan CirCUMStances
@Oni Chan in a specific situation
As a Spider-Man fan I'm very unhappy with how they are doing Spider-Man. He isn't in any heroes Shadow he's his own man. If they do Tobey like how they did Quicksilver in wandavision I might be done with the mcu because Tobey was the best Spider-Man and comic accurate and if he's a joke for Iron boy Tom I'll be pissed. Shame on you Kevin for destroying my favorite super hero
You do realize that they were building MCU Spidey up to become the Spider man we all recogonize from the comics so we can watch him grow up and grow into the character we all know and love. rather than just jumping straight to like with Tobey's version. FFH was that film where he becomes Spider man (symbolicly not literally obviously). I garantee NWH will prove all the haters that think this Spider man is "Iron Man jr" wrong. Also the Tobey Spider man arguable wasnt even that "accurate" either. The only tjing that version did which is objectively "accurate" was show the struggle between Peter Parker and Spider man in Spider man 2 as well as the power and responsibility. But there is way more to Spider man that just power and responsibility. Im mean for example, Tobey's Spider man side to the character was completely wrong as he lacked all personality and has like 5 "quippy" lines across 3 entire films. Im not hating on Tobey's Spider man as i love those films, im just pointing out that they arent really as accurate as people make them out to be.
Oh my God quit your whining just watch the goddamn spider verse if you want your Spider-Man and also Tobey Maguire spider man was actually less accurate than Tom Holland spider man and here's proof
1. Toby's Spider-Man gets his powers when he's a senior in high school
In the comics gets his powers in his freshman year of high school and maybe even a middle schooler if you look at some variations
Tom Holland Spidey is a freshman in high school who got his powers very recently at least that's what civil War shows at least
2. Toby had The organic webbing but in the comics games TV shows almost any other version of him he has homemade web shooters and that's what Tom Holland has because if you watched homecoming you saw his homemade suit and his homemade web shooters
3. How they even portray their characters is very different Toby betrayed his character as kind of a pushover when he's on the suit I understand keeping his identity secret but like he was basically a boy scout sure Tom Spider-Man is also a very nice guy but he had his moments of selfishness If you want an example literally he goes behind Tony's wishes and goes after vulture he takes off the training wheels of his suit and takes off the track Hines Tony's back and was kind of selfish when he lost the suit telling Tony that he needs it and there's a lot more
I hope they stop giving everyone a new suit in every film. Sam, Wanda, Bucky, Peter and Shang Chi's suits are pretty much perfect to me. I love how comic accurate the new suits are now. Hope they can do this for some of the other characters.
They need to sell Toys
Well for Sam it made sense because Captain America Bucky I think changes his outfit every film why does it was kind of the same just with a little extra thing here in there and Peter's that make sense
Your videos give me the capacity to think about MCU Spider-Man in ways I normally don't and it's a good thing. I still think as it stands Raimi Spider-Man is king but now I'm starting to think about what the MCU actually needs Spider-Man to be in its own interpretation rather than just being 100% comic accurate.
Genuinely some of the best edited and most thoughtful content on the platform. Always look forward to hearing your takes.
And you were so right with the character arcs. I'm inclined to trust you.
You see. I don’t hate Sam as captain America. I in fact quite like it, but due to how I built it up in my head hat Bucky should be the cap only due to how similarly fights like cap and how he was cap’s childhood friend. So even though I look at Sam and like him as the Next Captain America, I still want and wish it was Bucky because to me it just fits if based on only the fighting style.
I know this is just a opinion but it is a opinion I hold based only on how the folks fight and not on any other dumb shit. Don’t care that Sam is black only fucking idiots will care about it, I only care about the fighting styles and histories of characters.
Awesome
I love the new suit! The wings folding though does look goofy...idk I can't see how they would fold the way they do when not in used but also I don't know how else they could do it
I mean the wings are most likely made of vibranium nano tech. Look at Black Panther's suit. It literally comes out of his necklace.
@@kalebdickerson268 true true! But I'm just saying the way they animated how they folded in was wonky. It would've been cool if they would particle effect folder in like the panther suit or starks latest iron man
I can live with Cap's new suit, and totally understand why people like it, but my initial and lasting feeling is "meh". I find the white too dominant, the cowl pointless (but comic accurate), and the material almost "cheap"? Not futuristic or military grade, but almost like a custom leather biker suit. I guess it lacks the refined nature of a lot of the other suits, and is very "in your face"...which is probably the point.
Love the new suit for Sam and John (yes I'm a US Agent fan), the only thing I would change for Sam's suit is the tone of white, I feel like its too bright maybe make it slightly darker, like keep the white but not blinding white.
Great video man 👏🏻 Are you on Letterboxd??
It's a bit too comic book accurate superhero-y for the MCU, the suit. I personally don't mind the shape per se, it's nice and tactical with a bit of flair, cause Wakanda don't fuck wit lame design, but I wish there was a bit less white... doesn't sound practical to wash it that often lol.
I felt TFATWS didn’t do nearly enough to un-deify Steve. Even Zemo, the guy who really should’ve been the most critical of Steve, seemed to deify him as incorruptible. I also think the MCU desperately needed Steve Rogers to have more self-reflection-especially over the fact that he commanded a level of blind loyalty that was incredibly dangerous and seriously damaged the lives of people like Scott Lang. It was Cap’s lack of self-reflection that destroyed the Avengers in Civil War, his inability to question whether he was right, but the only person who seriously questioned him was Tony, who was practically vilified, and also consumed by self-doubt and self-hatred; which I felt narratively took away some of the legitimacy of his criticism of Steve. Plus it was on Tony to forgive Steve in Endgame rather than Steve make it up to Tony. For me, TFATWS needed to do more than say that Steve didn’t understand what it meant to give Sam the shield-it needed to actively challenge his morality, because Steve’s legacy isn’t just Captain America but Steve’s mistakes as well. And not just his last one with Sam, but all of them. Hell, they almost did it with Sharon, but then it was dropped almost immediately in favor of questioning her morality instead.
Also, I kind of felt like Sam Wilson needed to be listened to, but in the end it was Captain America who was listened to, and the fact is that it made me feel like it’s still Steve’s legacy legitimatizing Sam in the eyes of the MCU government rather than Sam’s worth. For example, remember the scene with the police where they nearly arrested him because they didn’t recognize him out of costume? There’s no reason to believe that wouldn’t still happen. And what’s more, because the government listened to Captain America and not Sam Wilson, I felt like-at least in the real world-any person of color without that prestigious status would still face the same racism present throughout the series. Kind of like how when Obama was president people listened to him because he was the president but it didn’t much change how black people were actually treated in America.
I dunno, these are just my personal feelings, and no one needs to agree, but I hope for some this at least gives them something interesting to consider.
Yeah the suit is really good but from some angles he looks like jazzy Jeff (jazz from the fresh prince of bel Air)

Yea when Spider Man, regardless of the context even within the MCU, gets recognized as the hero taking up the mantle of Iron Man it always make me sad a little bit.
im only annoyed with the way the last episode was handled. the subtleties and great writing from episodes 1-5 fell apart. otherwise a really good show.
even the wing suit fell in creative usage in episode 6.
it did feel a little bit like they were struggling to wrap everything up and it was a bit unsatisfying. still, Sam's journey to becoming Cap was the real meat of the story and I think they handled that all very well!
@@FullFatVideos I specifically mean that speech to the grc delegates and how it was broadcasted on tv. “be better” is a very empty american liberal phrase, and this is from someone firmly on the left like myself. also Carly was identified and sympathized with to a creepy degree in episode 6. she should be as roughly and equally grey a character as Walker. not to mention john gave me whiplash too.
I’ve never heard Batman called a bird-themed superhero, and I don’t think I ever want to again
"He stands for Truth, Justice, and..."
I'll let this slide, but only because Superman and Lois used "With great power comes great responsibility".
No they didn’t. It’s Spider-Man that uses that.
@@devinjabairemoss That is kind of my point. They quoted it in the first episode (or two, idr) of the new Superman show on the CW.
