      what's the name of QOL UI mod?
      Also SPOILER pro tip:
      If you learn summon cheeky quasit with a wizard, then talk to him with other character that has a spell slot (respec for the occasion), you get to have summon quasit on 2 characters, My Astarion can sneak attack every turn because he has quasit beside him which makes enemy have a threatened tag xD

      @@AbsolutelyJaked I think I'd finish it off with 2 more cleric levels over 2 more bard, so you can get Aid. Yeah, you'll only be able to upcast it to level 5, but if you're the only support, that's nice. Unless you are planning on taking Haste. Then the last 2 levels should be sorc, so you can twin cast that.

    4 pieces of gear: amulet of restoration, whispering promise ring, hellrider's pride/reviving hands, boots of aid & comfort (healing word/mass healing word)(bless people you heal)(blade ward people you heal)(temp health people you heal)
    That is the best healing without spell slots (period).
    Wapira's crown => heal self
    Darkfire shortbow has haste + fire/ice resistance.
    Phalanx aluve (singing sword) sword has buff/debuff
    Birthright (char+2)
    Silver pendant (guidance)
    Periapt of wound closure (heals max)
    Spellcrux amulet (spell slots)

    War caster + the feat that gives you proficiency in a stat. Pick constitution. It gives you +1 con and your concentration checks now get your proficiency bonus.
    War caster gives you advantage on those checks but might need less useful because there is a ton of armor in the game that gives that for free.
    Both great picks for a pure support character.

    Instead of the Wisdom ABI, consider Alert. Alert is a wildly powerful feat for any class that doesn't get an inherent initiative advantage, and I think being able to move and buff/debuff early helps this build more than +2 wis.

      Depends on your goals:
      1) reactive healing/buffing before battle. being a clutch healer!
      2) OR a support/healer who is "on the move" repositioning to optimizing their effectiveness/efficiency behind the protection of sanctuary. (Not attacking/doing damage but easily helping the other 3 be MORE) be a show-maker and not the show.
      Wisdom makes healing better/improves saving throw (wis)
      High dex improves initiative/ac for non (heavy armor players)
      Take responsibility for your bad choices in your build/respec options/choices. Stop complaining when you limp into your role.

    Hey! I follow several small RUclipsrs (pre-ad revenue) and hear the sub request. Because I really like you and your channel, I just want to give some feedback as a viewer: Your personality and presentation are great. You seem super knowledgeable about the game and it's helpful.
    The barrier to subscription has another layer though - I'm going to play BG3 for probably a month, and I don't think I will be interested in BG3 content after that period, so I don't have a motivating reason to tell the algo to keep feeding me BG3 stuff after that period of interest is over. Because I like your videos a lot while I'm interested in BG3, then I would love to hear what your bigger plan is for videos long term. Maybe an intro that says something kinda like "What's going on guys? Welcome to another video on your place for RPG mechanics and playthroughs. Today we are doing the most powerful support build for BG3..." so that your audience can know that you'll provide value beyond the shorter term and we can make a value judgement based on what we expect to be interested in after this game. Then you can make a call to action at the end of the video with something like "I've got a video in the works for the 'Unholy Bard', so hit subscribe and you'll be notified when it comes out!"
    Whether or not you do anything with this feedback, these builds are exactly the kind of theorycrafting I love right now in BG3, and I am going to look for your tactician stuff. Cheers!

    Beyond level 10, Devotee's Mace (healing aura) + the bless on heal ring + blade ward on heal gauntlets (2 avialable) + wapira's crown + transfuse health illithid power is probably the best healing/support combo in the game, and it is completely independt of class. Pretty much permanent Bless + Blade Ward on the whole team without concentration, massive self regen with Wapira's Crown, and giant single target heals with Transfuse Health. You can just Withers respecs to get as many Devotee's Mace as you want, so you don't need long rests.
    For ultimate support, I'd definitely add sorcerer. Twinned Haste is unbeatable, and with the above combo you can heal just fine.
    You can put all the above on a classic 6 paladin/6 sorc, buff the whole team and still have great reasonable ability with smites, and be super tanky with high AC, and godly saving throws thanks to paladin (losing concnetration on twinned haste is painful).

    I'm confused. If your MAIN healing ability is in bard, and half your initial levels, then why not max Charisma instead of wisdom and take your buffs/utility spells from cleric? Then you can take one level in Sorcerer initially for proficiency in Constitution saving throws since the main purpose of this build is to heal/buff/haste, you still get all the extra cantrips, and you get medium armor/shields from life cleric, and shield as your first sorcerer spell. Not only this, but you will actually be able to hit things with your cantrips and your support character can also be the face of your party.

    • @AbsolutelyJaked
      @AbsolutelyJaked  9 месяцев назад +2

      Because none of our Bard spells that we pick get any benefit from having high CHA, whereas a surprising amount of Cleric spells get bonuses from higher WIS especially the other healing spells thanks to life cleric.
      And to be clear, while Warden of Vitality is so good part of why it is so good is because once you have it active you can use that as well as other healing spells.

    In practice, the wizard dip is fairly lame with low intelligence. A reasonable score of 12 will get you 2 prepared slots, only really usable to summon a myrmodin, hold up glove of invulnerability/resilient sphere, or use shield and magic missile. Now, these are all fantastic spells to add to your arsenal, but the wizard dip becomes rather good with high intelligence, opening up all the spells that require saves and to hit rolls, and MOST importantly, counterspell.
    In lieu of high intelligence, i suggest either:
    - 5 storm cleric (spam call lightning)
    - 6 light cleric (spam radiant damage with appropriate gear for radiating orb on everything; probably the stronger option)
    - 10 levels lore bard with high charisma, adding 2 life cleric or 1 cleric and 1 wizard
    - Or, finally, high charisma with 6 bard and either 6 sorcerer for great spellcasting support (add control and sorcery points) or 6 paladin to make the character a reasonable tank the adds aura of protection.
    You could also consider thief rogue to have an extra bonus action for warden of vitality, buy this seems like overkill? In my opinion, things like hold person, twinned haste, counterspell, and even paladin auras kind of put cleric to shame in terms of support, though the radiating orb build is very strong. I hope this long-winded comment has sparked some interesting thoughts, at any rate!

    Hey there. You asked for a nice to have feat for a support character and IMHO warcaster is just that ... when you are concentrating on something you really don't want to loose it so why not? ;)
    I played a different support build whan i was using just 1 level in cleric and 11 in bard (i may want to go 10 in bard for the second secret and 1 wizard and 1 cleric but, ofcourse with different stat distribution since i had 16 cha and 16 wisdom with 8 dex ... probably gloves of dexterity on, i can't remember .... just for you to know) and you can also use the circlet that gives you 17 intelligence and the amulet that gives you 23 consitution so you end up at level 12 with a lot of stats at least 16 a can be a proper skill monkie xD
    PS: I wouldn't sleep ongliph of warding since, but here i can be mistaken since i'm at work and not near the game, the sleep version of the gliph doesn't require ST ... you can check it if you want but the rest still do half damage on ST

  • @20100langlois
    @20100langlois 9 месяцев назад

    Interesting, but a few points I don't understand.
    - Why the high wisdom?
    - Why pick haste AND spirit guardians?
    - No Warding bond? this would be the perfect build for it
    This build feels undecided about what to do. Do you heal? Do you pickpocket? Do you support? Do you dps? There seems to be anti-synergystic choices . Contested concentration. Coping mechanism for lvl 6/5 split is to take 1 wizard and exploit BG3's wizard's learned spells.
    Instead, why not go much higher on bard and only dip cleric? You will get more picks for magical secrets and higher level spells, and you will be able to land them if you forego boosting wisdom and pump charisma instead. IMO there are better picks than haste, leave that to your sorcerer, or tell your players to drink a potion if they really need it.
    Some people consider 3 levels in rogue for the extra bonus actions, and that would cover you for your pickpocketing needs as well, and make you expert in a lot of skills.

    • @AbsolutelyJaked
      @AbsolutelyJaked  9 месяцев назад

      High wisdom for the perception checks.
      Haste and spirit guardians are both amazing and, like I said I'm the video, spirit guardians is definitely the less important one but can be very useful in some situations.
      Warding bond I honestly don't like personally, if I'm gonna use that I'd rather cast it in camp with one of the hirelings.
      My personal opinion is that this build is capable of being the healer, the support and the pickpocketer and none of those things are anti-synergistic.
      Don't feel like I really made any decisions to make this build high DPS, unless you're talking about the Spirit Guardians pick.
      Regarding contested concentration, I think there are clear situations where you would pick certain things to concentrate on, which is almost always Haste but other situations call for something else.
      I also reckon it's always amazing to have multiple people in the party have the option to cast Haste, more hasted party members the better!
      Regarding the Wizard thing, while it's useful unless you have a really high Intelligence you can't prepare many Wizard spells, plus your spellcasting modifier for any of those Wizard spells is going to be Intelligence and needing that higher would make this build pretty MAD.
      At the end of the day I feel like a lot of the changes you're suggesting essentially make this a completely different build, which is fine! That's the joy of this game! This is just one way of building a support character 👍👍

    • @20100langlois
      @20100langlois 9 месяцев назад

      @@AbsolutelyJaked I think the changes I suggest don't make it a different build actually. It still can get the needed spells through magical secrets, while benefitting from good spell dcs on all spells. Wisdom here feels wasted tbh, but it does give good perception. That's not really an issue when expertise kicks in though. Same healing capacity, same pickpocket capacity, just spirit guardians or no later in the career with later magical secrets. That 5/6 split hurts a lot on premium abilities. Higher bard levels also means better inspiration

    Equipment?

      Best heavy armor you can find, theres no equipment choices that are specific to this build that enable it so your standard items suffice.

    Why would you heal if you can use the most powerful cc in the game - kill all enemies. I almost never use healing spells in combat. Maybe early in playthrough once or twice.

    • @AbsolutelyJaked
      @AbsolutelyJaked  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think it quite obviously depends on a couple of factors. If you have a party filled with min-maxed overpowered builds (fighter 12, Paladin/warlock, STR monk/rogue, lightning sorc/cleric etc etc) then you can obviously steamroll a ton of fights even on Tactician. But a lot of people like to play with different builds, ones that are not as optimised and perhaps leaning more of flavour more than mechanics. In times like that, a support build like this helps them still succeed.

      Healing is good on a life cleric with 2 preserve life charges into act 2. Act 3 when you have 120+ hps on characters then it just starts feeling super weak. Spamming 15 heals ooc with warden of vitality gets annoying, in combat healing is doing basically nothing. Cleric in general seems to really fall off, due to the bad 4th and 5th level spells, no access to aoe crowd control, no hold monster, no teleports. They're just slow, can't heal, cant cc, do no damage.

      @@AbsolutelyJaked Yeah true. Too much playing on tactician I guess. ;)
      When I'm done with my "optimal" 100% run I'm planning to do some challange runs like solo or duo runs, so I'm way too much in optimizing mode.

    So she is good in everything and in the end of the day, she is not good in anything. Mixture of 3 classes that do not make much sense... I have finished the game already 3 times, almost 4 (in the end) and this build is totally useless.
    Sorry not hating, just debating.

      What doesn't make sense? It's taking advantage of this game's spell slot system to use scroll scribing to retain high level spells without the actual XP levels. Maybe instead of beating the game 4 times in 2 months you could slow down and understand a lot of builds work in this game.

    • @Skoricocukr
      @Skoricocukr 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@aerundel you are playing dnd, you can play whatever and however you want, that is why you go to these youtube videos and search for builds, because you can't make one to beat the game yourself. I am done arguing with pointless arguements over somekind of random build made of cleric, bard and wizard that is complete nonsense.

    • @AbsolutelyJaked
      @AbsolutelyJaked  9 месяцев назад +1

      I think I can understand your point talking about the Wizard pick, and I kind of alluded to that in the video.
      However Cleric and Bard are pretty much the most famous Support classes in D&D, so saying picking those two classes doesn't make sense, doesn't make sense to me 😅
      At the end of the day the game is easy enough that you can build whatever you like and complete it, it's a single player story experience at the end of the day.
