you are missing out on black clover. the 170 episodes dropped on netflix and s5 is coming soon. I think its a great oppurtunity for you to read it. Its more than your average shonen anime. Spade arc is peak. You dont need to watch it though. Fun Fact: Black Clover was most watched on Cruchyroll in 2017. Thats all, You dont need to watch it, But i hope you do.🎉
Going to be honest, Chimera Ant Arc and Succession War Arc are definitely stories that need to be read slowly and thought over after each chapter to really appreciate. I was definitely a little disappointed with how quickly you rushed through the video by the end, missing some big details and neglecting to discuss Nanika, Killua’s family dynamic, the election, Leorio/Kurapika's return, and not to mention everything in the final arc(s). Still, if I were to try and read the latter half of Hxh in 2 days, I think my brain would melt and comprehend even less than you did. So pretty impressive, all things considered.
Honestly it feels like you didn’t enjoy reading a big portion of it. It’s ok if you don’t like it, but it doesn’t feel right to read a big amount of chapters of an author like Togashi in just one day.
I’m mainly an anime watcher and I felt the same way about chimera ant (and I think the other anime only’s too). It was a lot of narration like ALOT so seeing u have a similar reaction towards the manga is interesting. Really good stuff!
I felt in love with HunterXHunter with the anime. But bro the manga is just on another level. Just try to read the Gon VS Pitou fight (tome 29) it's 1000 time more brutal than the anime. Pitou just become a towel that's disgusting and satisfying.
Tbf in the manga the gore picks up pretty quick, like Killua ripping out dudes heart. Also the Uvogin vs Shadow beasts battle was a bit more gory. He punched Worm so hard that his eye flew outta his head 😂
Your take on Chimera Ant is probably the worst I have seen you have. That probably is a little harsh, but Chimera Ant is one of my favorite arcs of all time. I was kind of dissapointed, since I felt you didn't touch on many of the best points of the arc. For me, it is the perfect shonen arc. It has the greatest writing, the best characters, and the best fights. The setup with all the moving pieces, the political moments going on, the development of the Ants with their individuality and past lives- and then finally, the ultimate showdown- all of the characters that have been built up explodes in the best moments I have seen in fiction. All of the fights are peak, as each chapter something crazy is happening all at once. Maybe it is because you read it all in one day, and that resulted in the bog? But yeah, L take. Sorry you didn't love it as much as everyone else 😢 edit: Also, I wish you gave your reasoning as to why you thought Chairman Election was a bad arc.
the chimera ant arc was like one piece for me. It had good moments and stuff but tooo long to enjoy. I remember one episode being fully slow motion and i was like crying it to end cause it was inner thought after inner thought after inner thought and the bad part was i didnt even care for what is the outcome, it wasnt something that important. So yeah its too long and poorly paced to be the best. But it has the best episodes by far. (the city arc with the spider troupe or whatever was the best arc imo.)
@kiwislayr What do you mean? He read until chapter 400 which is the recent chapter in this video. The last part he reviewed was Komugi / Mereum moment though
So firstly I do not think the Chimera Ant arc needed to be this long. Realistically it could be like 30 chapters shorter. I think the thing that initially caused me to dislike the arc was the fact that it was so different in a way I wasn't prepared for. Gon and Killua are the main reasons I like HxH and in this arc it almost felt like they took a backseat which I wasn't toooooo thrilled about. Next the side characters did not make notable impressions on me so when we had chapters dedicated to what they were up to... frankly I did not find myself caring. There were moments I thought were cool like Knov invading the palace and Morel fighting the cheetah but other than that a lot of the side character focused stuff was meh. The sense of individuality that the ants started obtaining was a nice addition to the arc. Meruem is the goat as a result. The final idea of Ants being no different than humans and meruem telling the wolf to go live a human life if possible was dope. I see why the arc is good but it's just not for me. The political aspects just did not have me excited. The chairman election arc was lame in my eyes. One thing in anime/ manga that I hate is when we get introduced to a whole bunch of new characters and are just expected to care about them. It's frustrating, Dressrosa in OP does this, Season 2 of OPM does this... why. There were just too many zodiacs introduced to be able to get a solid impression on any of them. I could not find myself caring about who was going to be elected because honestly idk what even happens if you are elected. The arc just felt slow and the stuff with killuas family also just felt like it dragged on.
Love this manga/anime 1. Yorknew is my favorite arc. It’s the perfect length and just gives us so many ways of how nen can be useful in a day-to-day life 2. Greed island- favorite training arc and personally makes the nen system the best/favorite 3. Chemria arc- maybe because I watch the anime first but brought out the most feels.

Dude I've started HunterxHunter today literally so I can watch this video, haha! I finished the Hunter Exam Arc today and its amazing so far and will probably binge it in a week as well 😂
I love the way that Gon and Killua become friends it's so accurate to what making friends as a kid feels like. It's really as simple as "hey you're the same age as me" and just like that they're best friends.
Alluka seems to clearly present and identify as a girl, which Killua respects. So it would be a bit more empathetic to label Alluka as a girl/ Killua's little sister (it's what the majority of the fanbase does too in case you didnt know). The author also had a trans character in his other WSJ series, and while that character was handled poorly, it illustrated how interested the author was to the construct of gender. Even as far back as the early 90s... Anyways, Im glad it seems like you enjoyed HxH for the most part though. Im very surprised with some of the placements (namely GI and the CAA since I thought both would be higher, with the CAA being in the top 2). While I disagree with many of your opinions, I appreciate that you still found the good in many of the stuff you were critiquing. Togashi is one of my favorite authors because he really takes a hit or miss approach to his storytelling. Which I happen to love since he writes for himself above anything else. It's really no wonder that his manga is so divisive, self indulgent, and controversial by that metric. Now to wait for more chapters like the rest of the caught up fandom lol
Something that I’m guessing isn’t shown in the manga is that Killua doesnt make noise when he walks/runs, he’s always silent. When he was running to where Gon was during the commotion with Pitou, Killua was so worried for Gon that he was making noise(footsteps) when running which is the first time you hear them in the whole series.
Makes sense I just don’t know if I should invest the time to understand cause I kinda don’t think it’s ever going to go anywhere since chapters have been taking literal years to release
truth be told, if you didnt enjoy much the election arc, id advise you not to continue with succession arc and take the Gon with Gin as the final ending… i feel like by that point, youd have to be ALL in for HxH and Togashi to give it a shot since if youre liking HxH because of Gon and Killua as MCs or even the main OG cast, is just not enough to bear through it. I mention Togashi because he’s been doing his best to continue it even if it takes years (and to be fair you got to read HxH in a really sweet spot where we do actually get updates fairly frequently) and understanding his context and effort, this arc is such a masterpiece and a blast, but not for everyone definitely. I dont blame you either, and I hope or would expect for it to peak your interest later on if you ever have a HxH craving once you had a break from it. A lot of us had to bear through the almost 4 years of nothing from 2018 to 2022 so I definitely believe its that this arc needs you to be in an specific mindset to enjoy it.
It's nice to hear someone with the same opinions as me when it comes to the Chimera Ant arc. I love Hunter x Hunter but this arc drags so much and is not engaging in multiple sections. The main story with our main characters and Meruem is fantastic but I couldn't care less about most of the other stuff. Definitely a very polarizing arc
I personally can’t remember any part of it that wasn’t engaging as heck. In fact it changed my mind entirely on the show I was so confused by the praise until I got into the chimera ant arc. I still consider it the greatest arc in anime. I’ve read some of the criticisms and none of them really seem all that convincing.
I'm a bit hesitant to get into Hunter x Hunter and while there are multiple big manga like it examples Berserk and Vagabond, The three of them may never be finished be it Berserks new creator wanting to stop or something happening to him and the same for the Hunter x Hunter creator, Vagabond on the other hand It's just whenever the creator decides if ever to do more. TL:DR I'm a bit nervous to commit to a series that may never finish.
I remember reading the first volume of Hunter Hunter and I was instantly hook in, in the future when I have enough money I might buy all the books so far
I think the bored comes from that you read the whole ant arc in one day. Which i would feel bored from it to. Due to lots of talks and explaining. Luckly that i have watched weekly which was SO sick.

I waited for sooo long bruh !

I think the bored comes from that you read the whole ant arc in one day. Which i would feel bored from it to. Due to lots of talks and explaining. Luckly that i have watched weekly which was SO sick.
