ShartimusPrime Biography:
Inspired by watching boring Transformers action figure reviews, the ShartimusPrime youtube channel was launched in 2008. Engaging the audience with an edgy sense of humor for adult collectors, action figure collecting has never been this fun, and videos are posted daily! Unexpectedly, the channel became more popular for Marvel Legends reviews and Spider-Man, Avengers, and X-Men collection display videos. After a few years, the channel has branched out to review other figure properties aside from Marvel Legends and G1 Transformers Masterpiece. Hot Toys, Star Wars, Diamond Select Toys, DC Collectibles, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Dragon Ball Z, Attack on Titan, Godzilla, Evil Dead, and The Walking Dead toy lines have all been added to the roster of nearly 2,000 video reviews. Japanese import figures from SH Figuarts, Bandai, Figma, Square Enix, and Medicom MAFEX have been favorites as well. More recently, Kotobukiya Statues (including the very sexy Bishoujo line) and NECA Toys have become more prevalent on the channel. Being a big fan of movies such as Spider-Man, Batman, X-Men, Iron Man, Captain America, The Avengers, Evil Dead, Pacific Rim, Aliens, and other films has lead the channel in the direction of also reviewing movies, movie trailers, blu ray releases, and tv shows. News updates for 2016 releases and beyond are also posted. Audience engagement is a big part of this channel, with giveaways and fan mail being read publicly once a week in the PO Box Pick-Up videos. Impressive “Shart-Art” is shared via social media and included in the opening theme song. The audience is also kept up to date with any changes to the channel, along with recent comic book pick-ups, unboxings, and action figure hauls. Stop-motion segments punishing the popular meme of the Big Time Let Down Spider-Man close most of the comparison segments, and are compiled together for guaranteed access to patrons. Lastly, all figure reviews close with a slideshow featuring dynamic poses of the figure inspired by ACBA, with the added bonus of music performed and recorded by ShartimusPrime himself.

I think a lot of us were expecting a version of the IDW comics stories with darker and more serious tones. But this is clearly made with a younger demographic in mind
I often prefer the younger demographic, as the Netflix WFC series isn’t like that, plus I’ve thought the new movie design more like 2007 Transformers Animated show

Feels more like an Animated style of tone; part serious, part comedic, I like it.
Also this is the first trailer, it’s going to push for the more comedic moments as opposed to serious
A movie being mature does not automatically mean it's somehow going to be amazing. I mean, the transformers franchise is objectively a series primarily for kids and families, adults are just the secondary audience. And all mainline transformers cartoons(Prime, Animated, etc.)are kids shows, kids are literally the main target audience if those shows. They are all rated TV-Y7-FV. And guess what? A majority of TF cartoons like Prime and Animated are great. Teens and adults can obviously enjoy them, it's normal.
I am just happy we got a movie on Cybertron. I think that's what fans have been asking for years.
I love the look of it and I understand why people hate but it looks like a fun movie
Listening to his review of the trailer versus Tyrone's review, you can completely see the difference in attitude while still being critical of a franchise they both love.
Transformers: The College Years!
Pretty much about what I was expecting, and I can't wait to see it. When they announced it was animated it just seemed likely it would be an all-ages thing that also appeals to little kids, and the TF brand needs that for it's longevity.
I wonder if Optimus is going to get the matrix when he becomes a prime .

As a TF fan who HATES the live-action movies, I think this looks cool. It’s obviously meant to fit along movies like Madagascar or the likes for kids but I think they’ll love it.

Dude - this just looks like fun, right? Has a fun vibe similar to TMNT Mutant Mayhem, which I LOVED! I haven't been this excited for a Transformers movie in maybe ever!

I'm not the biggest Transformers fan. From the character design, you could gather this was skewed towards a younger audience. Introducing a younger audience with a goofy/comical version is a perfectly acceptable marketing strategy with old IP. Think Spider-man and his amazing friends on Disney channel or w/e, the chibi character design one with Miles and Gwen.
Definitely taking my kids to it and personally looking at it as an alternate universe take on the lore. Hopefully, it'll have more serious part's to tell a proper story.

I wasn't sure about it at first but I'm starting to like it definitely feels different, looks like it'd fit with BW & BM (in a good way) and I think Chris Hemsworth sounds a lot better as Orion than I expected.

It's like what Illumination did with Super Mario Bros. I don't think it'll break the box office, but it'll probably pull in a lot of families, especially the Gen X and elder Millennial families who now have kids old enough to enjoy this.

I was hoping for IDW take for adult fans, or at least something more closer to Prime. The designs are made those of us who played WoC and FoC also with the vehicons from prime too, but definitely looks like its made for a younger audience. Probably a pass for me because its already pretty cookie cutter story wise. Group of misfit 'teens' become friends gain powers, change the world! One goes 'bad' and infighting, drama oh nyos! Either way I hope it does well. At the very least it gives me some hope for the rest of the dinobots to be released in their FoC designs. I'm out of Transformers, and I'm free but would splurge to get cybertronian Snarl, Sludge, Swoop and Slut.
Mabbe one day we'll get it. A show fully adapting the idw universe would be so cool

I felt like the humor and dialogue was very generic. Felt like a reskinned version of other kids movies. Im sure itll be good but just isnt what I was hoping for

Not even Micheal Bay's early Transformers movies were this CRINGEWORTHY with the dialogue. The 2011 Transformers Prime animated show had infinitely better written dialogue and humor that actually took itself seriously with the darker elements of the mythos. And it was meant as a "kids show". Way too kiddy. PASS.
The voices took me out of it and too much Marvel like humor.
