You can also cook the meat while cooking the greens. Everything together. That's how we grew up cooking.

I don’t like to overcook my greens, so I give the meat extra time to cook first

The way I make my collar greens are ham, hocks, pineapple juice, and brown sugar, onions & orange peels and that’s it and it turns out wonderful. I prefer my collar greens to be sweet, not savory

Y'all kill me with that adding sugar. Must be a southern thing. Don't put no sugar in none of my greens please!! Otherwise yo greens look good. Neck bones for me. Didn't use turkey back in the day, I ain't using none now. Neck bones or ham hocks. Yum 😋

You won’t add sugar to cut the bitterness of the greens, but will add pig… a pinch of sugar won’t hurt

A sprinkle of sugar never bothered me as much as that vinegar missing. It's the second most important ingredient and the ham hocks or turkey necks.

It’s a good thing that we all cook how we want to in our own kitchens. I don’t use vinegar in mine, my mother does.

I preferred to have sweet, collard greens not savory that’s my opinion that’s why I only use pineapple juice and brown sugar and my collard greens and they taste so good

Actually u can't really taste the sugar, most folks do it

Those aren't the best. You have to have a world contest on making collard greens. And just by watching this, theyight taste good but not better than mines. So yeah they are not the best.
