Jab We Met is widely considered one of the best Romantic Comedies from Bollywood, so this was a must watch for us!

It's such a shame Bollywood doesn't make classics like this anymore. Jab we met is in a league of its own when it comes to Romcoms.
What does it mean by "they're watching different copy of the movie"??
But people have different tastes mostly the new generation dont like such movies ig there r people out there who thinks its just an ordinary movie Nothing special and with time things chnges ...see now Bollywood doesn't make movies like 90s or 80s with time everything has changed and it will chnge we cant do anything about it

fun fact: the two main actors (Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor) were dating for about 2 years, but part way through filming this movie they broke up! The way they were still able to film and keep the chemistry up shows how good of actors they are (at least it does in my opinion)

Shahid's entire outfit during Nagada Baja was ICONIC ✨ He looked so hot. Not to mention he's a fantastic dancer. Unmatched energy. Love dancing to that song!

Aditya found Geet so quickly because she had mentioned her girl's hostel name during schooling when she met him on the train. That is where she was living for 9 months.

Geet is the perfect deconstruction of the manic pixie dream girl. At first even you guys think that she's there to teach him how to live. But she's so much more than that.

The editor did an amazing job 👌 and Efra was entertaining as usual... But Waleska had a total blast 😍😅 it's evident!!! Lot's of to both of you 💕
U two are officially my fav RUclipsrs in RUclips! This is the exact kind of reaction I personally wanted when showing iconic movies like this to my foreign friends. The movie- being simple yet iconic was and will be one of the most successful and wholesome movies made in Bollywood. And of course, the actors had amazing chemistry considering the fact that they dated for a few years too.
You guys will LOVE Tamasha and Yeh jawaani hai deewani because you analyse things as literature lovers; decrypting the symbolism behind each scene!

Its always a choice, it's just a matter of perception.
People have taken their lives too seriously, they have forgotten that death can strike any moment. Time is limited here, but our mind doesn't let us see the reality..it just keeps sinking us into the illusions deeper & deeper.
All i can say is that Mind is a beautiful servant but a dangerous master, choice is all yours.

There are so many movies like this yeh jawaani hai deewaani, Zindagi na milegi dobaara, wake up Sid these three movies are the best defination of free spirited carefree life loving your freedom and yeh jawaani hai deewaani bunny's character is like geet even more free sprited than geet this character is really lit and carefree .yeh jawaani hai deewaani is the best movie which shows the importance of freedom, friendship, love, carefreeness ❤️❤️❤️

Loved rewatching this nostalgic movie with you guys! I'm Egyptian so I don't really know about the turban and the other cultural things, so I'll leave that to my fellow Indians, but from my understanding of watching Indian movies, not all Indians wear turbans, some regions do, and most of the times it's the rural areas, and I think maybe it can sometimes be related to religion? Like when a character is Siekh ( I don't know how to spell it, sorry) they Will be wearing turbans, but idk, I could be wrong!😅 And it would be great if I got to rewatch the movie, YEH JAWAANI HAI DEWAYNE with you guys!💜
Not bad, you know India very well. Yes, turban is usually wore by sikhs people. And those who wear it in rural India means two things, first it's their culture like in rajasthan (where they geet and adithya were that red turban) is cultural thing. It's symbolizes respect to them, like cap of an army officer (something like that level).
And second, farmers wore turban made from cotton towels so to soak sweat and also to carry stuff on their head.

Another great review! You guys kill it with these movie reviews really. This movie was such a cultural phenom that most of us must have seen it dozens of times since it came out. Same with me but it has been a few years since I last saw it. Kind of watching it again in bits and pieces here with you was so refreshing and enjoyable, and what surprised me the most is how well this movie has aged! :) And I CANNOT believe you guys did not recognise Shreya's voice! 🤪

Mauja hi Mauja translated to "fun and frolic" is the funniest thing i've witnessed.
Hey guys. So glad you checked one out. I so agree with the point Efra made at 37:44 regarding the mother trope. As for the timeline and its passage, its pretty much left to the viewers' interpretation. For me, as a viewer from India, it becomes easier to interpret the time they spend together as I understand the geography of the country. So Aditya was from Mumbai, Geet from Punjab, but studying in Mumbai. By train I would assume it takes 2 days to commute. And she missed the train so an even longer road route. Anshumann was shown to be from Manali, which is like 17hrs away from Punjab. So you get a rough idea for how much time they spent together. It was pretty much a cross country trip they took.

Dangal.
Kareena has done so many iconic character but this was the most iconic one for me ❤️.....Love this movie.
If you want romcoms I really recommend these-
- Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani- Kabir and Naina meet during a trekking trip where she falls in love with him but refrains from expressing it. They soon drift apart but end up meeting at a friend's wedding. [This one is a MUST watch. Plus it is very beautifully shot and you get an Idea of what a Big Fat Indian Wedding is like.]
- 2 States- Based on a novel with the same name, a story about 2 people from entirely different cultural backgrounds and states in India trying to convince their family to bless and approve of their marriage.
- Dil Dhadakne Do ( Let the heart beat)- A story of the Mehras, a dysfunctional family who invite their family and friends on a cruise trip to celebrate the parents' 30th wedding anniversary.
FUN FACT : Shahid Kapoor(aditya) and kareena Kapoor(geet) was actually in a relationship for some time but now both of them are married with different person😢🙂
35:18 you guys probably didn't know but that rap was in Assamese language "Tate Bohi Bohi Rod De"(তাতে বহি বহি ৰ'দ দে). So the song has 3 language in it, Assamese, Hindi and Punjabi.
This was so much fun. The watchalong doesn't feel performative at all. You guys are genuinely invested in the story and filmmaking. Love it. Can't wait for the next movie. Hope it comes sooner hehe 😊❤️ btw, I don't know if the next pick has already been selected, but I would highly recommend adding 'Tamasha' to the list. It stars Ranbir Kapoor from Barfi and Deepika Padukone. Same director as Jab We Met. Tamasha and Jab We Met are the only 2 films I like from this director. Tamasha is an absolute masterpiece.

I hope Imtiaz again finds a great pair of actors like these two who completely surrender themselves so that he can tell his story earnestly. Till then he has to compromise with the so called "stardom" of today's stars whose 'public image' overpowers the 'character' they play in his films.

About the fast marriage, the family thought they eloped. Which means they ran away to get married. Done mostly when you think your family won't approve. So 9 months later the family has accepted that and assumed they have already married and are throwing a grand wedding just so they can witness it. The family never finds out the truth so they don't feel like they are rushing it. The next movie should be aashiqui 2!

I have always been a silent viewer I have never commented on any of your videos but this time I really wanted to tell you that I really love your reaction videos. I really enjoy watching your reaction videos to both music and movies.
And a small suggestion that I really want you guys to watch the movie "Veer Zara". In my opinion it is the best romantic movie that I have ever seen. It will be a very emotional movie but it will be worth watching.
Wish I could watch every movie I love with you guys bcz damn this was one amazing experience. I swear it was more fun seeing you guys being so involved in it bcz no matter how many times I see this I would never have the same interpretation.

This was so fun to watch! The movie makes you experience 5 stages of grief indeed hahaha. If you wanna watch a light feel-good movie next, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is a good movie, also has an Indian wedding in it hehe.

If you guys want another romance movie to watch, I'd recommend Jodhaa Akbar! It's quite long though, but it's _very_ iconic and actually 90-95% historically accurate!
And for another somewhat romcom movie with the same lead actress in this one, I recommend 3 Idiots. Viewer discretion is advised though, as the movie deals with a bunch of heavy topics, including depression and unaliving.
