I myself am looking to buy one right now, also as a first gun, I want a ME steel. The problem I am running into though is that academy sports is the exclusive importer for Yildiz guns in the U.S., at all the academy stores anywhere near me they are out of stock, how they are out of stock when they are the sole importer is somewhat curious and has me a bit perturbed. I have looked at alternatives but I can't bring myself to accept any others as everything I have seen says Yildiz shotguns are the most gun for your money.
All guns everywhere are out of stock, be happy you live in a state with an Academy store. I checked all over my state and could only find 2 Turkish O/U 20GA guns on the rack that I could touch and feel before buying. And then - good luck finding shells to shoot in your new gun, although it is starting to get slightly better. I was fine on 12GA shells, but as this was my first 20GA I ended up doing alot of driving and searching on to pay way too much for 1 box to shoot with my new gun.
Thanks for finally doing a review John IV the yildiz spz sm 12 bore have put near 3000 cartridges true it since got in January never missed a beat for 650 brand new how can you go wrong
That's a little nicer than what we get in the States. I would add to the video that the internals want a good coat of corrosion preventative as they are more prone to rust than one might expect.
Another good one. just wondering if you can make a vid of the top 5 game keeping shotguns because I am just about to leave school and become a under keeper and could be very useful for me to make the right choice of shotgun.
Your comment about wood-to-metal fit was very appropriate. To the effect that this one requires some work but it's as good as one sees in much more expensive guns. That is, many expensive guns have poor fit. In my opinion, buyers ignore it and wind up with guns that they don't even seem to know are defective. As to whether the barrels are correctly aligned: how do you know? Have you patterned many of them? Hope so. As to a 5 year warranty, that's great. But many of us have robust guns with over 100 years of use that have never been repaired...no warranty needed.
great video as always guys. What in your opinion is the nicest 12 bore shotgun for £600, seen your video on the browing medallist and so far that seems to be one of the nicer recommended guns, Many thanks
I was actually thinking along the same lines when Jonny mentioned that the boiler finish could be improved with only a couple of hours work. Jonny, how about a video showing us how to improve a factory oiled finish?
Great gun, I've shot mine 2k+ times and it's just an amazing gun for the price. I would recommend though changing that recoil pad for something larger, otherwise it kicks like a mule...
Can anyone give me some more detailed advice on hale to enable/disable the automatic safety on this Gun. Mine is off and I would like it on. Any advice appreciated.
Have you patterned enough of them to be confident that the barrels really do "point in the right direction"? Balance would be better if the barrels weren't too long. "De gustibus non est....etc." I guess. Superior steel proof?
Your emphasis on the warranty must reflect what you regard as poor quality of manufacture. Though it really didn't look that bad to me. I have guns that have been in use for 120 years and have never been repaired. Then there is an Ansley Fox in use for 96 years and never repaired. The warranty on that was for the lifetime of the original owner. Not bad.
The turkish made offerings today mostly offer a 5 yr warranty- which is a good warranty for such little money- but people forget that warranty covers what they believe is the workable life of those guns. Highly doubt any turkish made gun will be spoken of in 30 plus years as still going strong etx
I almost purchased an ATI over/under 20GA because it came with a limited lifetime warranty. I looked online at so many different Turkish shotguns, cannot recall if the ATI had steel reciever or aluminum.
Holy shit, yall pay WAY too much for shotguns in UK!!! That exact model brand new i can get for $319, $349 for 12 gauge, out the door in Oklahoma and Texas, cheaper if I go to a small shop.
TRYING to understand you the best I can, and using Close Caption is funny as hell as YIELD and YILDIZ I guess sound the same with your British ascent. I wish British reviews did it with a more "refined" ascent but oh well.. Tally ho!
Worst gun ever no customer service sucks they are the best looking guns but they brake you can't fix them waste of money and waste of time for doing a piece of shit shotgun
John ,you a natural honest presenter keep it up well done .
Thankyou Gerald.
This was my first ever gun, absolutely loved it and I never had any issues with it

@@walterbigsby6380 for sure mate, I'd wait until it is in stock again, or if you can find an ata over and under they are also phenomenal
Can you make another video on starter/budget guns in 12 guage
Thank you friend !

I had a look at a Yildiz a while back & was surprised by its quality for the price that they cost. Be a nice little 20 bore that would for a fun gun.
That's a little nicer than what we get in the States. I would add to the video that the internals want a good coat of corrosion preventative as they are more prone to rust than one might expect.
gun is light and easy to handle, auto safety gets annoying but is funcitonal and good feature, took a while to break in but all around good gun

Best of luck with the start of you`re career Callum. Hope it gives you a lot of satisfaction.

Well got to say that looks better than the yildiz sxs 20 bore a few years back and similar price too!
I like at the end "I quite like it" 😂 first few minutes wouldn't of thought it 😂

We have a video - what shotgun would I buy for £600. Check it out for an honest answer
Nice video. I bought shotgun this as my first a few days before.
Great Video!!! Could you do a yildiz refining video??? A tad like your cheap to charming video???

Think I might go to academy next week.. Thanks 👍👍👍

Could you potease evaluate the side by side A3T elegant ? Thanks
BENELLI, BERETTA, FRANCHI, F.LLI POLI, FAUSTI F.A.I.R, FABARM, ITALIAN TOP!
Do they do these in 12 if so what’s the price range thanks in advance

Balance would be better if the barrels weren't too long. "De gustibus non est....etc." I guess. Superior steel proof?
Could you drill and add some weight to the stock to balance it ?
Sure you could
Great video as always would you have any good recommendations for a new 12 bore o/u ejecter around that price mark ?
George, have you checked to see the price for the 12 bore version of this Yildiz?
And what was your honest opinion of the 12 bore alloy action version
Can you do a review of the kofs black diamond game gun please
Please?
Sorry 😕
Punk
Yildiz 20gauge over and under new or second hand Lincoln premier gold second hand with fixed chokes??
Highly depends on price of the used gun
Take the one with proof marks...
Does this come in a 30 in barrels?
What kind of snap caps should I use in my Yildiz 20 bore plastic or metal?
Jake Sagar metal last longer
@@gmaskellfarmphotography3198 ok thanks for helping.
Lose both equally as quick though!
@@tgsoutdoors i have bought some metal ones.
Hi
Is there a problem with alloy reciver in this gun
Or it is strong enough
Strong enough for what?
@@tgsoutdoors
For daily hunting with 70 cm shells
Or steel reciver better than alloy
Note: yildiz brand have no warranty in my country
Could you do a video on the khan k500😊
How long will an aluminum receiver last? It can't last very long. Shotguns and rifles need steel receivers!
Proof marks???
And pressures?
Get a used Beretta, far better in my opinion.
A hard one to find at £550
308 Rebeca Plaza
Is the gun still holding up well?
Surprisingly so - seem to have a 10-15 year life span with good use as some of the originals that came in are just starting to get ‘old’
