      I've had mine for a year now and about 3k trouble free rounds through it.
      I shoot with three other fellows in my group and all have years more experience at sporting clays.
      They all shoot guns 3-4 times the cost of the sporting hps.
      On our last 100 target outing I was within ten of the days best score.
      My only point being the Yildiz is a highly capable gun for sporting Clay's that competes well against more expensive guns.

    Yildiz 30" Sporting HPS is a great budget gun. Very impressed with it so far. Have a fixed choke (modified) 20 gauge Remington 1100 that shot sporting clay with, and did decent (70% hit rate). Decided to shoot more and got the Yildiz. Has ported barrels, adjustable comb, and a very nice trigger. Low travel, solid wall, crisp break. Also below 5 lbs. I would guess 3.5-4 lbs pull. Comes with 5 choke tubes. Got mine on sale for $650. Got about 250 rounds through in the 3 weeks since purchase, and it has operated flawlessly.
    Limited geographic distribution due to Academy Sports and Outdoors being the sole importer of Yildiz. Yildez is supposedly a fine Turkish made shotgun in European markets.

    Steve, nice job but I can’t figure out why any of these over/under reviews fail to list any Fausti firearms! For Sporting Clays I have a Fausti L4 Sport and at $3600 it’s a beauty! Grade A+ walnut adjustable comb, 32” bbls with extended chokes, 8 lbs 10 oz, beautiful hard case and exceptional performance on the clay trails. My best on the clays with the Fausti L4 Sport has been 93/100. I also have a Rizzini BR110 Sporter X, almost the same specs as the Fausti, and though it’s a great o/u Sporter , the Fausti L4 Sport is much better fit for me. My best with the Rizzini BR 110 Sporter X is 83/100. Fausti also makes several other great o/u’s that are exceptional, yet nobody seems to acknowledge them. I was happy to see you review the Rizzini BR110 Sporter X as it is a great gun. I tried my CZ Sharptail on the clays and could only hit 61/100. I sold it to buy the Rizzini! @@papajohnsy6659 I’ve got a CZ Teal O/U in 12 and one in 20ga. Solid field guns for the money, my 20ga has been perfect but the 12 has had a few misfires after switching barrels. They’re not true CZ’s but rather Huglu shotguns that have been imported by CZ. Still good guns. Also know that the Drake models only have extractors (not bad for field hunting and keeping your empties picked up) and the Teal and redhead primer models have ejectors. The Teal models are also a Bass pro/ Cabela’s exclusive model and they fit in between the Drake and redhead models and are essentially a redhead model with a black receiver rather than silver/ nickel like the redhead has.
      However, they pale in comparison to my Citori 725

    For the money the Browning 725 Sporting is a fantastic all around shotgun if you tend to shoot more sporting clays but dabble in other disciplines as well.
    Mine is a 12ga and with the ported barrels and the weight, recoil is pretty tame.

    • @jeffwatson8862
      @jeffwatson8862 15 дней назад

      @chevyon37s when the 725 came out I thought that would eventually be the gun for me. Shot some of them at my club. Meh. No real gain over my 525.
      Your feather weight is far too light for heavy sporting clay use. Also do not like the schnabel foreend and think that ported barrels are a gimmick sold only in the USA.
      Notice the 825 has neither. Would probably have bought this had it been released 4 months ago. I saw one at Scheels last week.

    • @chevyon37s
      @chevyon37s 10 дней назад

      @@jeffwatson8862 I don’t have a 725 featherweight, nor did I ever mention the featherweight model. Like I said, I have and am referencing the 725 SPORTING so no, it is not too light for heavy sporting clays use, it’s literally intended for sporting clays use and it’s more than a pound heavier than a featherweight model as well as the sporting has longer barrel options. As far as the schnable forend goes, that’s a personal preference and the one on the 725’s is not nearly as pronounced as most. I am in different on the foreend, it’s there and it feels and works good for me. And if you think ported barrels are a gimmick, that is also your personal opinion as you may not see the value in it, but you cannot deny that ported barrels do reduce recoil and muzzle jump. If they didn’t it wouldn’t be a popular feature or addition on to nearly every type of firearm from shotguns to handguns and rifle. After all it’s pretty common for people to add a muzzle brake on rifles to reduce recoil which in many cases are basically a section of ported barrel.
      So yeah, you may not see the value in a 725 sporting as an upgrade form your 525. But for somebody like me who wanted a nicer O/U for clays use and didn’t already have something similar, it checked all the boxes.

    good synopsis and review, and was entertaining! I bristle a bit when I see any recommendations for Turkish guns, but you did a good job of providing a caveat for minimal usage. for minimal field use, I think they can be good, provided you don't get a "Monday gun". however, as a youth league shotgun coach in AK, I and the other coaches that I know, cannot recommend them for use exceeding 1000 rounds per year. FABARM, CG, Browning, Beretta, Rizzini are our recommended sporting OU's and due to our climate, and the youth shooters propensity for never, ever cleaning their guns... the only auto we recommend is the Franchi Affinity 3. YMMV, and good shooting, also, thanks for the great content!

Better recoil pad, auto ejectors, Mobil chokes, and 5.8 lbs. reason I chose this over the Orion is the fact it comes with 26” barrels. Absolutely joy to carry all day in the woods for grouse. Ceramic coated barrels and aluminum receiver held up fantastic on the rain days in the pheasant fields and woods. Just a heads up the 686 and 694 have different stock dimensions. I would highly recommend trying a 694 before you add to cart, or assume you’ll have to have the stock worked on to fit you.

    Who could only own one O/U? Great review and choice of guns. I've own quite a few and I tend to reach for the Beretta SP1. The Weatherby is a copy since Beretta patents ran out and a good one but, not as well balanced IMO.

    Hi , I disagree with you in few choices, though not many .
    But I can assure you that you did not try the citory CX in 12gage.
    This will easily easily get the best over all - value for money shotgun .
    I have this amongst others and I can say that it will remain my first choice every time , every where .
    Please do a dedicated test on this Citory CX in 12 gage and awaiting your feedback.

    You haven't reviewed these. These are what my budget allows. Field/Upland O/U I have a Yildiz SPZME CCH steel receiver 12 ga, 28 " barrels, $650.00 when purchased. I also have The Yildiz SPZME in 20ga 28"barrels, alloy receiver, $450.00 when purchased. I liked them so well I went and purchased the newer steel receiver Yildiz Legacy HPS in 12 and 20 Ga.

    How is a trap gun different than a skeet or sporting clay gun?

    • @seancrook6675
      @seancrook6675 Месяц назад

      Point of impact mostly.

    • @paulhopkins1905
      @paulhopkins1905 Месяц назад

      @seancrook6675 isnt that just a matter of swapping choke tubes?

    • @TargetFocusedLife
      @TargetFocusedLife  Месяц назад

      Generally speaking. Trap guns have higher ribs, shoot a higher point of impact, weigh more, are often 2 3/4 chamber only, LOP can be different as well comb height/drop to name a few. Point of impact is not effected by choke. Point of impact is how high or low your pattern shoots relative to your point of aim. Choke effects the spread of your pattern.

    • @paulhopkins1905
      @paulhopkins1905 Месяц назад

      @TargetFocusedLife That was an outstanding answer. Thanks man! I assume sporting and skeet are pretty similar, and more suited to all around shooting, where Trap guns are more specialized?
