the difference between Michael's podcats and every other celebrities podcast is that while watching inside of you I forget that the actor is a celebrity and famous and just recognize him as a true and relatable human being which mostly all of the other podcasts fail to do. it's incredible how this comes to be, but I'm genuinely happy to have rossy making those podcasts.
It's so refreshing to see someone able to connect and talk with people on such a personal level, it's easy to think being famous equates to having no problems but this podcast just humanizes us all. Thank you
Samwise is one of the single more passionate characters I’ve witnessed. If we all had a friend in our lives like Samwise. Striving to be that friend to others is all the more. Great Tuesday, yet again, Rosey!! Thanks for being so real. ❤️
I loved the quote from his wife, "I believe you can be happy if you live a simple life." I really feel that, I think it's so important. It's easy to get sucked into what people think of you. So it's like Michael, you saying that you're doing Sunspin because you enjoy it. Finding something you enjoy doing, and people you enjoy being around, that might be it.

I know I already commented, but I legit got teary eyed when Sean said to you "Sean is there saying, not today!" telling you that you're a good person. I teared up! My brother has been that one person for me these past few months. And when I heard Sean say that, I thought of my brother. Fantastic episode this week! I enjoyed everything Sean had to say. Thank you
My favorite moment of this interview was at the end when Sean said that he loved Rosey. It was so genuine and matter of fact. I don't think we spend enough time telling the special people in our lives how much we love them, so that was nice to see. I share a little bit of Rosey's feelings - I don't know that I'll ever truly believe that I'll meet someone who will really be all in for the long haul in a relationship. But luckily I have amazing family and friends who I know love me, and that's something special.
I came to the comments to post this same thing. What a wonderful sentiment Sean expressed to Michael. And yes Jane, you are so right. We don't say it enough. I'll start today saying it more.

Very excited for Sean’s return! I loved when he was on before. So open and knowledgeable about mental illness and seems like such a sweet and genuine guy! I’m sure I’ll love this one as much as the first time he was on. Going to watch now! Love you, Rosey 😘💙
Goonies, LOTR, are historic. Love Encino Man & 50 first dates, but nobody talks about Toy Soldiers. The Willies is another. I will ALWAYS love Sean Astin. Just an awesome dude.
I want to give you guys a hug! It's so great to listen to you, I feel happier now too. Love the Goonies, love Samwise, love Sean Astin. Thank you for another amazing Podcast. Gold.

Michael's remark about not feeling like he deserves love really hit home with me. Ive felt that way since early childhood (I'm 45). I'm married to the same woman I've been with since I was 20. That was 25 years ago. We have a son who was in an accident that left him paralyzed and on a ventilator when he was 3. I'm a stay at home dad. I love caring for my son. I still feel as if I don't deserve love. I've been an Army Medic, Paramedic, Medical Assistant and now a CNA so I can properly care for my son. I still feel as if I don't deserve love. I'm not fishing for compliments, I'm just sharing. I don't know you (whomever is reading this), and you don't know me, but know that I love you. You're not alone. We're all in this together. Blessed Be
I can’t believe this podcast doesn’t have millions of subscribers, newbie listener but I love it. Please keep making an honest, insightful and comedic podcast.
The Goonies, Rudy, 50 First Dates - felt like I grew up with Sean. Another great episode Michael! Sean is so personable, kind, seems truly authenticate - incredible person!!! "Where can you go to begin again?" { mind blown }
Michael and Ryan, finding your podcast has been a blessing during these difficult times. Thank you for doing such an amazing job inviting AND interviewing such wonderful, inspiring and REAL guests. This interview in particular is near and dear to my heart. I still remember seeing Sean in Goonies when I was 11 years old, and have followed his career, continually being impressed with his talent and character. He has to be everyone’s favorite brother, with his sweet disposition and affability, his humility and wisdom. It’s been a joy to see him grow into the man and artist he is today and I still look forward to all of his future projects. I am also fan of Patty Duke (RIP🙏) and John Astin. Best wishes to you and your amazing staff and to Sean Astin and his loved ones, God bless!!!! ♥️🙏
Love Sean Astin and loved when you had him on last time. He was so sweet and humble. I can't wait to hear what conversations you guys will have this time. Thank you for getting him back on the podcast. As always keep up the awesome work and thank you for everything Michael ❤️ Happy Tuesday 💙
Thank you for your comment and support, your comments and continued support have got me this far, keep supporting. Please send me an email via officialseanastinmovies@gmail.com
Jesus, I already love him as an actor, now I feel like I hope I can live as happy as he does. He is able to explain love for his wife, and daughters so well. What a good fuckin guy.
What a great actor and good human. He has been in my life for 35 years and has definitely made a contribution throughout from Saturday night laughter, sharing him with a whole new gen, and falling in love with characters that had traits I want to emanate and want around me in life (Sam). Love the open talk about anxiety and mental hurdles and hiccups. He’s such a friggin treasure.
I've had such a busy day and I'm so glad I made time for this! Love the both of you so much! I've had the pleasure of meeting Sean a couple times and he is just an amazing human being. Things will work out for you. Genuinely sending love and prayers your way 🙏 💗
Favorite Sean Astin movie? The Goonies or LOTR Trilogy. The last interview you did with Sean was part of the reason I started going back to therapy and seeing a doctor. I wish I could thank both of you in person for that. It was definitely necessary for me to have counseling going into the pandemic year. I am so grateful for the fact you talk openly about mental health. It has definitely made a positive change in my life. Much love to you and your team, Rosey ❤
Thanks, Rosey! Thanks, Ryan! Thanks, Sean! 🤩 Since you asked, I've loved seeing Sean in TOY SOLDIERS (1991), RUDY (1993), THE LORD OF THE RINGS trilogy and season 2 of STRANGER THINGS, of course. ⭐ Before I even knew he existed, I adored seeing both his mom and dad in countless movies and shows. I even loved seeing his brother, Mackenzie, (most recently) in an episode of THE ORVILLE. 😊
Nice! Love Sean Astin. Been a fan of his since I saw The Goonies in the theater! He was great the first time he was on, so looking forward to hearing more from him.
Currently on my 5th week of my current attack of Vestibular Neuronitis, so i'm totally with u on the "I'm a bit dizzy" thing man. The struggle is real - good luck to us both 🍀🍀 Sean's version was BPPV by the sounds of it and you CAN absolutely get rid of that one with very specific head movements by a physio (or follow the youtube guides for it). Mine (VN) is the one that can last forever.
Great Episode!! I have been a fan of his since "The Goonies". Its great that your show has become a voice for Mental Health and your guests are huge advocates for it. I have gone off my meds before and I felt slanted and heavily weighted one side. That is the best I can describe my experience. Keep up the great work!!
Of course my favorite Sean Astin films are The Goonies and his appearance in Lord of the Rings sequel trilogies. He is kind and humble. He is kind of the person that can be your best friend easily.
Just when I think the podcast can’t get any better, you definitely prove me wrong Rosey- Sean Austin! Love him as an actor and person ever since I saw the Goonies 😀. Thank you so much for having him on. I really admire him and his mom for their candor about the many struggles they have been through. This is truly the most meaningful and rewarding way for me to start my day. You are the best Rosey 🙏🏻❤️😀
I love Sean Astin!!! He's a big inspiration to me. Rudy gets my teary eyed every single time. Plus Encino Man is my favorite comedy with him in it! Thank you Michael for this.
When Michael asked Sean about what characteristic Sean would want to play to in a villain character, and Sean said "Vulnerability", it was very interesting, because part of the reason I loved watching Michael on Smallville as Lex was seeing how vulnerable he was, misguided he was, and how much he just wanted to be liked and accepted, and seeing that the arc he took that led to his later villainy on the show came out of his vulnerability of need of acceptance, from Clark, from Lionel, and from himself. Michael, for me, is one of the greatest Lex Luthors because he made you care so much and value that character so much, so that when Lex started to turn, it wrenched your gut and your heart, seeing how everything led up to where he went. It just really showed what an exceptional actor Michael is, and I still hope to see more great things from him in the future.
Another great show Rosey!!! I even liked Sean's small run on "24" with Keefer Sutherland! And, of course, "Toy Soldiers" sticks out as an underrated gem! I'm looking forward to your next Podcast!!!
Just found this podcast and will definitely be listening to more after Sean Astin's turn - like others, I welled up when he told you he loved you and gave you some PMA advice - as a fellow spoonie, I'm definitely taking it on board. Thanks for this and strength to you, Rosey.
Wow! another incredible episode! Really related to how language and labels can be very powerful and affect your mindset. I didn't think it was possible to like Sean even more than I already do! So much food for thought in this episode. Watching it a few more times..
What a great, normal guy! I love when guys give credit to their wives for keeping everything together. Actually, I like all the movies Sean was in but my favorite role was his take on the animated series Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Nickelodeon). He was the voice of Raph.
Loved this interview! I have the same positional vertigo thing, and you can 'fix' it with some weird body positioning thing, but yes, it's horrible. Been a big fan of Sean's for years, and his honesty with mental health is refreshing.
Thank you for your comment and support, your comments and continued support have got me this far, keep supporting. Please send me an email via officialseanastinmovies@gmail.com
I love all the guesses on this show. The puppy is stinking cute and adorable. Sean Astin plays a mad guitar and he should play in a band or sing on his own. Can't wait to rewatch this again and again! The dad's name is Gomez Addams.
Very nice interview. People keeping it real. This actor shows the sensitivity he has in all of his film characters. Big or small roles, i always remember his contribution. He was perfect in Stranger Things. I was heartbroken seeing him die in his scene of sacrifice.
I listened this morning and what a good episode. I could relate to a number of things Sean and you said, Michael. I have fibromyalgia (funnily enough after what you said 😂) and although it can make life harder I don’t let it define me as a person. It’s not who I am. So I loved what Sean said about bipolar. Also, I feel you Michael, I truly believe everyone deserves and is worthy of love but I often do t feel worthy myself. It’s definitely something I’m working on. Sorry for the novel, another great episode.
Thank you for getting Sean on the pod. His characters have been great role models for me growing up. From Goonies, Rudy, Encino Man, The Lord Of The Rings, and especially 50 First Dates. Y'all are the best, p.s. Best Lex! Peace and love y'all 🤟
I have grown to just love the podcast. I didn't at first. I didn't understand Rosenbaum yet, and now that I feel I do a bit more. Such a warm presence and how he just shows his guests a ton of love. Epic when someone just grows on me like that. Just as a sidenote, not claiming to know this man, but we all get to know the podcast version of him at least.
I have been crushing on Sean Astin since "Please Don't Hit Me Mom". When I spoke with him at Toronto Comic Con a few years ago and mentioned that he said in his best Sam Gamgee accent (it's amazing how they look so much alike! ;) "be careful dear, you're dating yourself" But that movie made me feel like I was not alone, that somebody else in the world was going through the same thing I was going through. But I didn't have a cool babysitter like Nancy McKeon. And since that movie, I'll watch pretty much anything Sean is in! And I would LOVE to see an Encino Man 2! Please make that happen! LOL!!! I really think Sean is an amazing person, and we have a lot of the same outlook on the world, though I think maybe he's saner than I am.
"let us calibrate our terror relative to the timing of the threat" rings true! "timing" is the first modulator, but we have and need more as animals predicting danger. I think the problem is, the modulation selection, probability questions are minimized to a yes/no question on accomodating or resisting the fear involved in moving forward. and when faced with difficult probablities, it's hard to select the right measure, timing is always first and it's a repeating question: becuase intentions require knowledge of when they can be expressed, like wanting to feel water and only when in it wanting to swim, but are you in a shower on a pool?, when you feel that intention. sometimes some of our intentions are covered with fear. I mean: modulation of reaction to danger as taking a few steps back in intention then forward walking again. I suspect the first thing to do when terror is felt, is to realize or remember what were your intentions just before that. honor those intentions by trying to find a course of action that might still preserve them, and then walk back into the feelings of terror to find out what right they have to interrupt your intentions at this moment. keep it close to the present at the moment. One may find that the reason for danager is not probable and yet still valid, this means there was an experience that backs that conclution, and while there is no danger now, one must still handle the danger that was upon them in the past as if it is in the present, remeber the situation, and try to improve conclutions on danager detection and handling that reason out the not probable, reinact the situation with the better conclutions, and get sutisfaction from training your reasoning and awareness, and put it to the test by comparing properties involved in your response to the terror in the next occurences. AND when the public is divided on the values of probablities, It because harder for the individual to preform the modualtion task of terror-reaciton. Thanks for reading my thoughts.
24:20 is my favorite part of the Convo. I thought I was the only one who thought that....Just started watching your podcast and love it! I’ve got to say, as a young gal, Fifty First Dates is my favorite movie he’s in😂😂😂
Thank you for your comment and support, your comments and continued support have got me this far, keep supporting. Please send me an email via officialseanastinmovies@gmail.com
I just have to say... when he talked about his version of Vertigo, all i could think of was the movie Inner Space! :) the scene when Dennis Quaid is in Meg Ryan's inner ear blasting their song to get her attention :P
Sean Astin is such a panicer, I love the bit in the LOTR extras when all the other hobbits are playing around and he's directing helicopters to land 🤣🤣
It’s impossible not to love this guy 💙 Let me know your favorite Astin movie in the comments 👇
That’s tough!! So many to choose from but I’ll go with 3...Goonies, Encino Man and Rudy!!!
LOTR, Goonies, 50 First Dates
That's such a tough question. Gotta go with Samwise in LOTR. Sam is the BF that we wish we all had following us to Mordor.
Let me think! The Goonies, Toy Soldiers and California Man. Its an age thing!! Oh and it was a pleasant surprise to see Sean in 24 (S4/5, i think 5).
the difference between Michael's podcats and every other celebrities podcast is that while watching inside of you I forget that the actor is a celebrity and famous and just recognize him as a true and relatable human being which mostly all of the other podcasts fail to do. it's incredible how this comes to be, but I'm genuinely happy to have rossy making those podcasts.

Sean Astin is a legend in my book. The Goonies, Rudy, Lord of the Rings, and Stranger Things (season 2). Awesome interview!

Glad it connected 💙
Thank you for getting Sean on the pod. His characters have been great role models for me growing up. From Goonies, Rudy, Encino Man, The Lord Of The Rings, and especially 50 First Dates. Y'all are the best, p.s. Best Lex! Peace and love y'all 🤟
He's such a sweetheart ❤
Being you is freeing man. I learned to not give a f'k and am living my best dork life :)
Yes!!!! Glad he is back on again!
as good if not better
This was another great episode. I learn little tidbits with every one of your great interviews:)💜
What a great dialogue!
1) you’re deserving of love, Rosie. Stop the negative talk. 😝
2) this was a great episode, thank you so much!
Really enjoyed this! love you both. Loved Sean in Lotr ofc and Toy Soldiers!
Great interview thanks
I love him in The Goonies, one of my favourite childhood films. I was always scared of that giant ice cream-maniac. 🤣
Glad to see him back on the pod! Great stuff as usual, Michael! My favorite Sean Astin movie is probably Rudy.
Awesome video! They should teach the importance of mental health in schools. Keep up the great work!
Another amazing episode Michael Epic guest!! 💙
Samwise,Mikey Walsh and Raphael. love this guy :)
Looking forward to watching. I've grown up watching his films.
hope you enjoy this one Maya !!!
@@InsideOfYouPodcast loved it...Sean is such a genuinely good and decent person.
"let us calibrate our terror relative to the timing of the threat"
rings true!
"timing" is the first modulator, but we have and need more as animals predicting danger.
I think the problem is, the modulation selection, probability questions are minimized to a yes/no question
on accomodating or resisting the fear involved in moving forward.
and when faced with difficult probablities, it's hard to select the right measure, timing is always first and it's
a repeating question: becuase intentions require knowledge of when they can be expressed, like wanting to feel water and only when in it wanting to swim, but are you in a shower on a pool?, when you feel that intention.
sometimes some of our intentions are covered with fear.
I mean:
modulation of reaction to danger as taking a few steps back in intention then forward walking again.
I suspect the first thing to do when terror is felt, is to realize or remember what were your intentions just before that.
honor those intentions by trying to find a course of action that might still preserve them, and then walk back into the
feelings of terror to find out what right they have to interrupt your intentions at this moment. keep it close to the present at the moment.
One may find that the reason for danager is not probable and yet still valid, this means there was an experience that backs
that conclution, and while there is no danger now, one must still handle the danger that was upon them in the past as if it is in the present, remeber the situation, and try to improve conclutions on danager detection and handling that reason out the not probable, reinact the situation with the better conclutions, and get sutisfaction from training your reasoning and awareness, and put it to the test by comparing properties involved in your response to the terror in the next occurences.
AND when the public is divided on the values of probablities,
It because harder for the individual to preform the modualtion task of terror-reaciton.
Thanks for reading my thoughts.
Lord of the Rings Two Towers. He is awesome. Great and enjoyable interview!
24:20 is my favorite part of the Convo. I thought I was the only one who thought that....Just started watching your podcast and love it! I’ve got to say, as a young gal, Fifty First Dates is my favorite movie he’s in😂😂😂
"Religion or jazz could be a big help." (Paraphrase) - Sean Astin. loved that line.

You're a great guy, Rosey. Don't let Rosey tell you different!
Thank you you're the Man!!
I just have to say... when he talked about his version of Vertigo, all i could think of was the movie Inner Space! :) the scene when Dennis Quaid is in Meg Ryan's inner ear blasting their song to get her attention :P
Not sure you'll see this, Michael. Just a reminder that your podcast saves lives. Thank you.
I love you. thanks. it's me R for Rosey. I use both Inside of you and Rosey
Sean Astin is such a panicer, I love the bit in the LOTR extras when all the other hobbits are playing around and he's directing helicopters to land 🤣🤣
