I only knew Bernard from his role in Lord of the rings.. you can watch the making of documentary which comes with the extended editions. And in that Bernard seems like a hugely funny and kind man who was always up for a laugh but when it was time for action he had the goods to step into a role like King Theoden and command respect. And even in this short appearance he had me cracking up.. Rest easy friend
Bernard Hill is so ingrained on my mind as Theoden King that I forget he was also Captain Smith in Titanic which is what he was modestly referring to about Belfast.
Not making light of it but it's kind of like Bernard is under Saruman's spell. Bit of a shock and sad to see. Hope he comes out of it and says "Dark have my dreams been of late".
