Any time engine mounts are changed or adjusted you should check the transmission output shaft and propeller shaft coupling for alignment. Nice work tho
agreed, although i wouldn't be surprised if the engine alignment is still at factory settings. these cruisers don't get a lot of hours, and they don't have a lot of power anywho.
As a boatbuilder I strongly advise a alignment even if there is inly a half millimeter hight difference it will wear both of the bearing sleeves down and that will get expensive. Are you still in Germany, let me know I can help you
The old mounts may be ugly, and may have sagged a bit, which forces an alignment, but they are still functional and will not come apart or transmit much extra vibration. All they need is some rubber protectant and that alignment, since they are guarded all around by metal and will not come apart. Most rubber protectants also prevent rust.
Hi, to remove your fourth engine mount you can remove the four studs on the mount by loosening one nut a quarter of a turn then remove another nut screw that on to loosend stud and lock the two nuts together with two spanners, then put a spanner on the back nut and the stud will come out.Keep up the good work, your you tube channel is very good.
Your efforts to restore this vessel is amazing the next summer I'm looking forward to you puling it out and restore the hull. It's starting to look like a true yaught so to speak and your craftsmanship is amazing too. Thanks for sharing.
Now I understand why I found your platform boat to sell at ebay Kleineinzeigen since last Sunday! Good luck for selling soon! Though I believe it is a pity to you. It surely was a great time behind you at this beautyful place, easy to get it from your stories. I count 2 and 2 together with the recent news about the trouble from the local city authorities with the water residents on lake Rummelsburg, that they all have to leave, alas. So sorry for that! But as you told, don't look back but forward! Will you give us also the story what will happen with your other two motorboats? I suppose you will sell them, too, due lack of place to stay. You was lucky to find the new place for your 1st boat, because in those uneasy corona-times it is crucial here in Germany! Too many boaters around. Congrats! Me myself will also face this question when my boat is ready from the refit and I want into water again. Pressing thumbs...✊✊ Well, new times, new luck! Seeing forward your next videos.
Hey, it's wonderful to see your progress on this. Congratulations on this milestone! I may not ever realize my own desire of building/restoring a boat however, following you along this journey helps satisfy that desire even if only as little bit. Thank you. Wishing you continued success on your journey!
Another nice update and progress, those motorcycle rubbers have indeed seen better times, luckily that is now arranged. I couldn't see well in your video recording how the connection between motor and propeller shaft is composed, it is only advisable to check the alignment between motor and propeller shaft after replacing the motor rubbers. Having said that I am looking forward to the next movie and update cheers .
So iconic, the bridge with the two towers! My wife and I stayed in the hotel near it. Great view. She ran the Berlin marathon twice, so we saw a lot of the city. Thanks for the images!
In order to remove the rust from the barge I recommend an electric magnet on a bracket to stay off the hull. This will also get the fine particles making the air quality better.
Thankyou for a fabulous journey from day 1 to now I've have really enjoyed every episode, your very talented and thorough with all your projects, I've also learnt a lot from you. Can't wait to see her after the new paint, I will miss the floating dock it was great. Thanks again🇦🇺💜😁
Great vid, tip for getting studs out that won’t come out with the nuts, put the nut back on then add a locking nut, I.e. the same nut on top of the original nut, lock them off against each other, then using a spanner, hit the inner nut to free up the stud. 👍
Having changed a lot of rubber worn and perished suspension bushes and mounts ... I would have looked for some Polyurethane replacements. They last and perform better especially if theres heat fuel and oil contamination issues. Save the details and the best of the old ones as a pattern. Do not get WD 40 on your rubber ...if you do wash it off straight away. Or they will start cracking in months.🤦🏻♂️ I made that mistake ...
It’s always, or at least 4-5 times for now, that I come home after a night out drunk and high, go to bed wanting something to watch and chill, and you dropped a video :)
Nice job m8, some of the Arcitecture was amazing. Looking forward to your next vlog, bettin however, you'll head back to the original spot, when you finish here. Thanks, you and yours stgay safe and well Eh!
I see that crane in the background of your new dock space. I am hoping you will be fixing the paint on the sides above the waterline for such a beautiful boat it’s got to have perfect paint.
Thanks for the upload bro it's nice to see all your hard work being paid off I imagine you're very pleased with the outcome. Looking forward to finding out more about your next project. Love from the UK and the Philippines.
Hey i would definitely put a jamb nut on that mount, if you don’t have any room for one you can drill a hole through the nut and rod and use a cotter pin to secure that nut.
permission to come aboard captain, Thats easy to take out 4th motor mount put back 2 nuts back on one bolt tighten bolt together then put wrench on the back nut to remove it, luck. the last old mount will case premature wear on the new ones, and if I come visit, may I have permission to come aboard. for a cruise around the country?
Its possible the gearbox has too much oil. Check with warm engine and running. Oil level when engine running should be between the high and low on dipstick.
Hello, I,m English. I Didn't Know Berlin had a serious water way Network. Do You Have to Pay some type of River Tax Licence ? If Yes, How Much & How is it Calculated Please?
Sorry to say, you have made a complete hash of that job. You should only have 2 nuts on each mount exactly as you had originally. That will give you the adjustment required to align the engine which you did not do but should be done when changing mounts. Usually the top nut is nyloc to alleviate the need for thread lock.
First off, why did you leave? second, will you be returning to your patform and if not, did you just leave it there for others to take or did you sell it?
Man, you are killing us with the suspense! I thought at the end of the trip you were going to say you would sell your first boat, or something like that. Best wishes regardless of what the big new plan is and kind regards - always enjoy your videos a lot!
you have one of the few channels that i can not wait for new videos, all the best to you and your beloved ones! keep going my dude!
I agree! What they said ☝️.lol
Yes to that!

It’s better to check allignment of all transmission group. After last support change.

A delicate trip for you, but for your viewers it's gold. I wish I could have joined you as it loked so tranquil. I look forward to your next.
Nice to see the ole girl moving! Can't wait to see what work you do.

Or remove the bolts holding the mount to the bed. hehehe
You use a second back up nut to jam onto the bolts or you can weld the nuts to the bolt and grind them loose later or use new bolts. Bob in Nevada

Might be good to check and re align engine and drive shaft once the engine mounts are settled down and 'regular' I think ;-)
Love your channel, it's a great journey with you. I'm so glad you shared that with us.👍😎
The very high def. video is always very much appreciated, but especially on such a scenic trip.

Amazing channel now we are all worried about what is happening.
Take care & give us the news.

Always so relaxing to watch your videos. Greetings from a Dutch boat lover!
I look forward to seeing the new paint. Your boat is truly a labor of love
Great videos,I do recommend double clamping on all hoses, especially the fuel and seacock hoses.Love the boats and the work put into them..

Thanks for the upload bro it's nice to see all your hard work being paid off I imagine you're very pleased with the outcome. Looking forward to finding out more about your next project. Love from the UK and the Philippines.
I would have suggested a schedule 8 washer under the engine foot on top of the new engine mount...
Hey i would definitely put a jamb nut on that mount, if you don’t have any room for one you can drill a hole through the nut and rod and use a cotter pin to secure that nut.
Good luck with all your travels, Boat is looking great You have made a really nice job of it 👍

Got that right great clips
Wrobel Tiefbau macht auch Yachten :o Man lernt nie aus ;)
You can mount hydraulics to the steering, much easier then.
When are you getting your other boats including your platform boat coming to this new place. Need some clarifications on those boats.
Platform boat was offered on ebay Kleinanzeigen . maybee its already sold
One DRIVES a car, and STEERS a boat 👍
I would love to live in where you do , beautiful

Hello, why you not protect a door outside for access cabine, the wood will be damaged!!
I'd say you left us hanging, it's time for you to come clean. New project?
Or that might be power steering fluid in the Bilge eh’ LoL
Are you going to repair the hull of your boat?
Young man !!! you do not drive a boat, You operate a boat!!!
Yes! And you don't "go" someplace. You proceed.
Yes and his first language isn’t the Queens English, it’s German and words often don’t translate that easily when concentrating on boating.
You need to add power steering someday

What is the make and model of your transmission?
Is your airdraft really 3,78 meters? I would have guessed it is less? And what is allowed to pass through Berlin?
Thanks in advance
