Most tank combat games would be more concerned with accurate ballistics and damage models rather than terrain modeling. Since being stuck in a mud hole would increase your chances of dying people would just try and avoid the bad terrain. Might be more practical to hope for a tank or combat mod for snowrunner.
I still return to the Scout 800. I love the way it sags in the rear, full of character. It is very satisfying in Alaska to crawl up the side of a snow covered hill towing a fuel bowser in low range 1st or 2nd, the tyres searching for grip.
The Scout's crazy repair and refuel options with the roof rack spoiled me. All other scouts I've used since then are disappointingly light by comparison.
Oh the White is way better in my opinion. I was trying to deliver some bricks with the Caterpillar and i flipped it over 3 times. Then i used the White and got it first try. In fact i used the White for the entirety of Michigan and Alaska after that. The Cat is too tall and narrow. It may be better as a highway truck but this is an off-road game.
Super bouncy and tippy, so you need to get the autonomous winch. I also found that hauling the scout fuel trailer helps keep it from bouncing and tipping as much.
Scout 800 has a short wheelbase and is narrow. This makes it good in forests, but terrible on hillsides. Add the roof rack and you're just asking for trouble. It's one of the few scout vehicles I use the autonomous winch on. If you're in really hilly terrain and don't need the repair parts, the Hummer is a better choice with the diff lock but without the raised suspension. (fuel in the back, not on roof) It's quite stable on hillsides but more expensive and you have to find the diff lock.
Ngl in the first part I was like : ,, Wow the scout actually is more useful than Tuz because it can pull trailers much better" But then the water currents and deep mud stroke and it all changed for 180 degrees.
I would love to see a test for all the vehicles to see how far these things could lean before they roll over the comparisons are fantastic so far but the top heavy issue can be a deal breaker for certain vehicle comparisons
Thanks for the awesome videos! A bit of advice: When you do the pause at the end of a "race", like @ around 2:05, use some sort of audio/video effect to punctuate the moment. It always seems as if my phone is freezing or I'm losing data when that freeze happens. Again, keep up the good work.
SD1ONE, your videos are amazing, especially new intro in the beggining SnowRunner is my willing game now, I would like to play it very very much, unfortunatlly I can't play on my pc Soviet vehicles, cars and trcuks in new part of SpinTires are very similar with real models but little differences can see, ahaha the most interesting it's names of soviet trucks, like YAR, TUZ, AZOV and others. What about part of the next videos which will be comparing real trucks with it's models in game, e.g. KamAZ in real and Azov in game, where are similarities and differences Wait the next video about SNOWRUNNER Like set earlier!
I'll try to but I already compare most of them with their real life counterparts in my other video before the release of this game....It's title as snowrunner all 40+ vehicles.
Please do the off-road pull tests with the same trailer attachments as the on-road ones; you’re using off-road tires for both tests. Also, the addition of frame add-ons will also almost always have a diminishing effect on performance, so if you’re trying to make the ‘best’ version of the trucks, you need to ditch the racks.
Not really a good comparison. The Lo4f is narrow and tall while the Loadstar is wider and lower and heavier. A better comparison would be the Lo4f and the CK1500 since they're more similar in form factor. I'm not sure the Loadstar even has a comparable Russian vehicle since it's sort of halfway between a scout and medium truck.
@@the_omg3242 , vs CK1500? Van vs Pickup? no, that's stupid. The Loadstar with it's repair toolbox looks similiar to the LO4F, that's why I suggested this comparsion. IRL we have an UAZ-3303, which looks like pickup version of the LO4F, and also is in between of scout and small truck. I hope they will add it later.
Should note that switching awd and diff even when in neutral will change your fuel consumption. If you arent including this then the average fuel consumption doesn't really mean anything since mud and such will push that consumption to the highest values as you will need awd plus diff, whereas dry mud and roads will consume barely anything as you wouldn't be using awd or diff. There are trucks which drive at around 4-8 most of the time, but in mud go up to 15+ purely because the awd and diff are on, thats before they enter the mud where it goes up even more as workload increases.
I stayed with the 35" tires and 4.4 engine since they seemed quite adequate for the Scout, and I didn't want to use more fuel. Is the 5.0 engine needed for the 39" mud tires?
At 2:50 mark when doing pull test, your first comment says that they are in low gear with AWD and diff on. Then second later there is another comment saying that they are in AUTO mode, with offroad transmission. So are they in low gear or are they in auto?
In Alaska, do you tend to choose chained or mud tires when driving on road, mud and snow? Are the chains only useful in pure ice? Right now my TUZ with the custom tuned suspension and chains doesn't seem happy in deep snow, at least not quick.
1. Go to any trailer shop 2. Buy the tank trailer 3. Refuel yourself 4. Sell the tank trailer 5. Buy the Repair trailer 6. Repair yourself 7. Sell the repair trailer 8. Have no more worries about mileage or durability.
I can't stand the P12 because it doesn't have diff lock. Fast engine which works in some situations but it gets stuck more easily due to lack of diff lock
The scout is inferior, but I like it more, its "fun" in ways other vehicles are not, and can still do most things. In rust orange it looks so good too.
I would love to see a tank combat game with this terrain modelling
i always said imagine war thunder on these maps
Warthunder is about as close as I can think of any tank game having mud physics
Most tank combat games would be more concerned with accurate ballistics and damage models rather than terrain modeling. Since being stuck in a mud hole would increase your chances of dying people would just try and avoid the bad terrain.
Might be more practical to hope for a tank or combat mod for snowrunner.
Imagine ExMachina 2 on this game engine
...and you know what, perhaps a ww2 logistics game...running supplies to the front, towing artillery before encirclement etc...now that’s a cool game.
my grandfather's had the same scout way back in the day that truck went everywhere
And now you can drive it
My dad had one to it was a tank. And didn't sag nearly as bad
Same, it was orange body with a white top, and had the smooth chrome hubcaps.
I still return to the Scout 800. I love the way it sags in the rear, full of character. It is very satisfying in Alaska to crawl up the side of a snow covered hill towing a fuel bowser in low range 1st or 2nd, the tyres searching for grip.
bowser? First time i've seen that word since super Mario lol
This time I will choose Scout, It goes worst in mud but that 140 extra L are really usefull.
Hell yeah
The best scout is actually the TUZ 420 tatarin it goes slow but it can pretty much do anything including climbing a hill at 80 degrees slant
It's not that bad in mud it's just slow
The scout plows through mud
The Scout's crazy repair and refuel options with the roof rack spoiled me. All other scouts I've used since then are disappointingly light by comparison.
These vids are awesome. They give great insight on how each vehicle works in the game keep up the amazing job
Even though the TUZ 166 is horrible off road in stock form, it looks really cool when stock.
"Tuz 166" is a "Gaz 69" in real life.
The Russian vehicles in the game don't match up w/their original appearances & vehicle namesakes like their American counterparts do.
More precisely 69 А,they were also produced under license in Romania at a factory ARO
@Sawa Rebel weight
power is nothing in offroad
Do one with the ANK MK38 v the Tayga 6436
You should compare the Caterpillar vs the White Western Star (both heavy duty vehicles)
Yup...I'll do that very soon and prepare for the unexpected in that video.

In fact i used the White for the entirety of Michigan and Alaska after that. The Cat is too tall and narrow. It may be better as a highway truck but this is an off-road game.
Caterpillar 680 vs Fleetstar, cause both are light weight heavy duty. 6200 and 5000 kg.
Whitestar is 8000 kg. Other class vehicle.
SD1ONE Alright, can’t wait to see what you have planned!
I always tip the scout over lol
Same
I find it's still tippy but when u don't need the bigger mud tired and you're offroading the smaller tires without the lift is less tippy
Super bouncy and tippy, so you need to get the autonomous winch. I also found that hauling the scout fuel trailer helps keep it from bouncing and tipping as much.

The fuel consumption part in all of these videos isn’t really accurate because if the trucks are in awd or have a load they use way more fuel.
I found you get a lot closer to max fuel consumption if you apply the handbrake in low with diff and then full throttle.
Can you do a vid about yar 87 vs hummer h2 or Khan 39 scout
Like of you agree
we don't need third video about Yar
Влад Вулкан but almost al the other scouts sucks and the Hummer tuz and Khan are fine

I didn't bought it yet. But your tests have been teaching me so much about this game.
Love the video keep up with the great work and stay safe
tip for users of either, dont lift scout but use the max size available, and tuz 166 use second stage lift, they both get far more stable.
Love these videos. I could watch them all day.
Very great content ! keep up the amazing work these review are the best !

TUZ because it has longer/better suspension. Yes it is a bit more bouncy but it slides trough mud so it's the winner for me

Personally, I love the tuz, pr the gaz 69. I can't explain it, but that simplistic old utilitarian look makes me very fomd of it.
I’m back on the streak of being early again, nice.

I found cars with dif lock always on are awesome with the freeway gearbox. You keep it in auto and fly through anything.
I want you to compare something with the Navistar, because it has a lot of power
Love both these trucks but have history with the international
I'd love to see the MK48 (the unlicensed AM General) in one of these tests. The thing lookks awesome.
Hopefully they will add the Hummer H1 back to the game in an update/DLC. The H2 is pretty good but no where near as capable.
