I don't think Apple will ever make a tablet that is a laptop replacement. They really seem to want their customers to buy both. They are popular enough to get away with it.
I work in my home office for clients a few hours away (by car). The heaviest processing we do are VBA macros in multi-thousand row Excel spreadsheets, PowerBi/PowerApps development, and Microsoft Project plans. Think the XPS will suffice? I like the ability to use the smart pen for note taking (I am old-school and like notes by hand).
Great video thanks, I've a XPS, using for office and construction software duties . Sometimes feel a little slow but very good for meetings, see videos and sometimes play Xbox there, I try to use more XPS stylus. It has opportunities of course.I think it's a good way for Dell to compete into both worlds a desktop and tablet in one product.
I'm thinking of leaving the MacOS ecosystem because I'm tired of having to use multiple Apple devices to do my daily activities. I absolutely love my iPad Pro, but none of my pro apps are available for iPad. I'd love an all-in-one solution where I have a tablet, but runs all my applications and functions like a laptop. iPad is slowly getting there, but iPad OS really limits what you can do with it. It doesn't matter how fast the iPad is if you can't run the apps you need on it.
I’m about to start uni and am trying to decide between these exact two. I think for me I’m going to choose the xps, the battery life is a bummer but ultimately for my online classes, I won’t be able to watch a lecture while taking notes with the iPad. Whereas it is more feasible with a laptop. Thanks heaps and maybe I will invest in an iPad down the road 😅
Couldn’t agree more… I was in the exact same boat as you beginning of this year and went with the XPS as well. Not sure how you feel about your purchase but I feel fairly satisfied. However the battery life is a lot more of an issue for me now after using it for my first year of uni. The lack of cooling makes it get VERY hot when charging. I did for with the i5 compared to the i7 so unsure if that would change the battery life. The notating is almost unmatched however with being able to have it in vertical mode and split the screen with a lecture and notes. Given all of this, I am thinking about purchasing a cheaper iPad (air or mini) and using that as a secondary device. I do wish apple would fully commit to making iPad OS because it would truely make it a no brainer for me to go for that option. However, until then Windows is far superior for note taking multitasking. I am still very happy with the XPS and I hope you are satisfied with yours ;)

I wish you showed the device as you talked!

I don't know why a lot of people do a comparison of both of these things. Ipad is just a tab. XPS and SP are computers in a tablet building.

Was it installed on the dell Lightroom Mobile or the full version? Thx
could someone please tell me about the fan noise level of the xps?
greez from austria, thanx 🍀
None, efficient passive cooling, no fan.
thanx!@@tsoe01
Can you shed some light on using XPS for note taking ?
It would be great for that. I failed to show the stylus in the video but it is a nice experience.
Even though ipad has powerful hardware, Apple won't put Mac OS into the iPad. It would kill the MacBook lines
