    Andy said he listens to the customer. I found it is good to listen closely to the salesman's banter for keys you can use later. One time the salesman said that they work hard to make the deal work for the customer and they'd never be so rigid as to lose a deal over $100. I heard and remembered that statement. After some HARD haggling to get the price as low as I could get it, the salesman said the current deal was the best the manager would do. I had gotten them to drop the price 4 times to what I was satisfied with, but I wasn't done like the manager and salesman were. I told the salesman I had one more thing. I was ready to buy, BUT, they needed to take another $100 off the price because they'd "never lose a deal over $100". So drop the price another $100 and I'm good to go. The look on the salesman's face was priceless! He actually asked me if I was serious. I told him I was serious and I'd walk if he didn't drop the price another $100. He went away again and came back with the price $100 lower and insisted that was the final price. I was true to my word and bought the car. The biggest win of the entire deal was that last $100 because he laid it on the table for me at the start of the visit. He said it, I held him to it. I think that statement went away from the word track, and it cost him. I'll bet he never said that to another customer ever trying to build rapport.

    Here is a clue when you are in the finance office to know if you are winning or losing. If the finance guy is still smiling and happy, you are probably being taken, if he is not smiling or seems a little stressed, you are probably doing it right.

      My finance guy didn’t even look at me. When I refused all his extras, he had me sign for the car and he walked away without saying a word me. He was furious!

      No the stressed thing is an act too. They want you to THINK you raked them over the coals. So you feel satisfied with the deal you hammered out.

      Eh hit or miss honestly. The car I bought was from a dealership I use to work for and had another one 15 minutes away from it. I told him all about it and literally everything was simple asf. Just did their job, no small talk, and it was done.

    I'm very happy that you are doing Andy Elliot videos, I subscribed to his channel a while back ago because I found his psychological manipulation to be fascinating. I left a few comments on his videos calling him out on his manipulation of people to sell them a car for the most amount of money. That guy has no sole, he views people as meat to make him and other sales man richer from bad car deals. Please continue doing these videos on Andy Elliot because people need to be educated on what car salesman are educating themselves in. I will continue watchin Andy Elliot videos as well, but not to become a car salesman, but to educate myself on what car salesman are working on.

    After some back and forth with a car salesman that seemed like it wasn't going his way he asked me "I thought we were friends?"
    I replied "Yes...we're like prize-fighter friends."
    Confused, he asked "What does that mean?"
    I replied again saying "Prize fighters are friends out of the ring. - but in the ring they try to beat each other up - you and I are in the ring right now, but after I get what I want on this deal, we'll be friends again"
    After that I don't know who walked away first...him or me.

    I bought a new vehicle many years ago. It was a Saturday, last day of the month and about 4:45 in the afternoon. I had done my homework, gotten internet quotes, check from the bank in hand, I knew the factory and dealer incentives. After a some back and forth I could tell the salesman and manager just wanted to go home. My two year old was busy smearing handprints on the cars in the showroom that had literally just been wiped down. We finally get to the F&I guy. He says "I can tell your not gonna be interested in any of this stuff are you?", while holding up a few brochures for paint protection, fabric protection, and extended warranty. That's when I knew I had knocked it out of the park. We were done with him in 15 minutes. Picture perfect way to buy a car. It was also the best deal I've ever made on a new car.

      I worked at a shady insurance firm that probably wasn't even licensed for a month. I didn't realize it was shady until a few days in and realized the plans I was taught to sell as if they were gold weren't actually good at all - and then observed everyone around me just straight lying about what coverage people would receive to close a deal. They didn't care if the customer would cancel their policy because at least they made a sale and earned commission. It's fucking pathetic and disgusting how many people can SMILE and be PROUD of themselves knowing they are a piece of s h i t.

      You’ve got to be kidding. Nitrogen is just another gimmick dealers use to make you bring your vehicle in for service. It makes no difference in the way your car rides. 80% of the air we breathe is nitrogen. It’s a hoax.

      Air is around 78% nitrogen.....so, no you don't need to purchase something you don't need at a greatly "inflated" price. Tires full of nitrogen and Andy full of hot air (among other things)

    Looking forward to this one. I just watched the original vid and it’s incredible how he plays on emotions/empathy to get the customer to help him devalue their trade here, but also teaches salespeople to be evasive and lie. Andy strongly advocates for openness, honesty, and transparency, but only when it serves him at the highest level.

    The funnel can be a great tool during a consultative sales approach. The goal isn’t to stick people. It’s to sell the right car to them, their family, their neighbors, etc. I actually met a great salesperson at a local Lexus dealer. This guy was on-point. What a difference it makes when someone is genuine. My friend was so impressed they returned and bought a car two weeks later.

    That was my lesson learned. I thought I could just go to a dealership to look and boy was I ever mistaken but I'm super thankful that I walked away from that horrible deal in those horrible sales people.

    There is no good reason why anyone shouldn't be at the bottom of that funnel nowadays; with so much information available online, and through informative videos such as these top notch ones by Kevin (and Elizabeth), one should be fully educated and prepared for pretty much anything a salesperson and finance office has to throw at you. If the vehicle sales industry is really going to change its ways for the better, it's going to depend on a great number of buyers becoming educated consumers, and putting the education to good use.

    As a tall driver (7 feet) I unfortunately have to go around and see what I can comfortably fit in. I make my goal of the visit clear and I also use it as a chance to checkout the dealership/sale people. Best believe I'm not returning to any dealership with aggressive sales people and/or large rip off stickers.

    I love watching the POS training officers !!!!!! My question is ; what on average how many cars are sold in the USA each month , average price , average % and average months financed ? If I know this then I will be more informed !! On average after mfg profits ie . months financed ; what is the average profit for all cars sold ? I would love an answer to this !!!!

    Excellent. I found that when I visit a Dealer they do NOT want to talk to me as an informed buyer. "Is that the best you can do?" They run away and don't come back to the sales office.

    It’s one thing to learn all of this, it’s another to actually put it into practice. I would go to dealers and actually practice this stuff just like they do with role playing. Who cares if you’re wasting their time. You gotta get practice in to become really effective in combating these salespeople. They are the enemy and they view you the same way.

    I have purchased both new and used vehicles over the yrs., and the advice on this channel is ultratruistic in every respect.
    Beware however, Salespeople don’t treat you with the same enthusiasm when they can’t manipulate your position / decision...lol

    I've purchased two new small trucks in my life. Both were base models. The first was a 1991 Nissan. The advertised price was $6600. The salesman tried to show me an upgraded model, but I kept repeating, over and over, ''where's the $6600 trucks''. So we got into a golf cart, drove out to the lower forty that was unpaved, and there were three base models. I choose the gray one and we got in so I could try it. We went back inside and he tried to get $100 more for metallic paint, saying he did not realize previously that it was extra. That sounded strange to me, so I said no. He left to speak to the manager, then offered to split the difference, $50. Still said no, and he dropped the issue. I paid cash, but don't remember at what point in the conversation cash was mentioned. I spent very little time with the financial people, and said no to everything. The whole encounter was actually quite entertaining. This dealership, at this time, was into selling mass quantities so they could brag that they were the biggest Nissan dealership in the USA, so extracting the most profit from every transaction was not their goal. Which was advantageous to me.
    Thirteen and a half years later, a moron made a left turn on a green light(not a green arrow) in front of me, so my truck was totaled. Tried to buy another Nissan, and a pair of sleazy high pressure salesmen went to work on me. After two hours, I was tired and hungry, so I left. One of the guys followed me out, and someone I never saw before was running after me too. After I ate lunch, tried calling several other Nissan dealers. They were all really pushy on the phone. So that night a friend's husband suggested buying a Toyota, and to ask for the fleet dept. So I called the next day, talked to a nice man who wasn't pushy, and bought the vehicle from him. I told him I really, really wanted the truck, but if pushy finance people wore me out, I would have no choice but to leave. So we signed the paperwork two weeks later (when I got my check from my insurance for the Nissan, which was my down payment) at the car rental location near his dealership. Turned my rental in, and drove out with the Toyota. I got financing from Toyota at 0% interest for three years. I don't recall excessive fees, but it was seventeen years ago. Still have it, will drive it till it dies. Since there are no more manual transmissions made, I dread buying another truck.

      You can get a 2021 4x4 TACO with a manual. It is NOT going to cost 6K. But is is going to be a LOT nicer than your Nissan :)

    A sales told me last week that new cars are arriving to the port and it has what I'm looking for but must deposit $1K to hold it. How can 2021 models still be arriving when the 2022 are coming soon? Why would they still be making 2021 models when there's a chip shortage?

    Re the Trade Value - it is really just a number. Its the overall that matters. All the 'talking' in the world means nothing if you don't want that low offer. I am no expert, but my next line would be. "Hmmm, well ok, If you will only go to 18K, then you will have to drop the price by (insert difference $, e.g. $2K) for me to sign. Shame, I really like that truck"

    Andy Elliot is one of the most wholesome sales people in the game. Just look at his team in the Elliot Group. Why wouldn't everyone want to have a car buying experience they provide? In reality the average customer is never going to be a professional car person, and shouldn't expect the salesperson to be some professional manipulator. If you want best value for your trade, sell it privately. If you want to buy another vehicle at market value, buy from a private seller. Most customers don't know the difference between Kelley Blue Book Trade/Private/ and retail book values. Let alone mention JD Power, Black Book, Manheim MMR, or vehicle history reports. This is why the customer will never be the professional in a car buying scenario vs. someone who does it 5-6 days a week. Regardless the customer is going to be missing key details to the whole scenario of a car deal. IT IS NOT ALL A MANIPULATION. Building rapport is real. Even if you got the best trade deal, best new car deal...if your sales person is a dip shit YOURE NOT BUYING. if you want a perfect deal straight across the board good luck.

      Is writing receipts for fake money (King Cash) what you'd call wholesome? Is bribing a credit union loan officer with cash payments to get loans approved wholesome? Andy Elliott is a conman in every fabric of his character. Totally corrupt, and his entire "career" in sales is built on fraudulent activity, swindling unfortunate people, all of which he admitted to in court. After doing these reaction videos to his massive hype nonsense, an anonymous source sent us the federal court transcripts which contain Andy's entire testimony under oath, with him admitting to some of the most heinous crimes I've ever heard of in the car business.     We bought a new car the same day this was posted! $29,760 MSRP ($35K was quoted after upgrades we wanted and tax, title, fees were added). After sending emails to 7 different dealerships, we found one that was willing to sell the car for $24K. After tax, titles, fees and the upgrades were added, we walked out only paying $28,500. In financing, they tried the typical BS and wanted a $347 finance fee, so we pulled a checkbook out and paid cash.

    Do not cancel service contracts thinking that you will lower your payment. The amount of the cancellation will be taken off your loan. Your payment will remain the same. No one is told this when told they can cancel at any time.

    I'm always right up front with the salesman when I'm at the top of that funnel. I tell them straight up that I'm spending the day going to the lots of every manufacturer in the area, and test driving every vehicle in the segment I'm interested in. I won't be talking numbers at all... I'm here to do my due diligence as a car shopper. I've got no problem if they have a junior rep do the test drives with me... I actually prefer it.
    If they want my business, they'll comply and give the test drives, and answer my questions. While it's true that I want to test drive the cars, this method is also a good test of the salesperson. If after you tell them what you're there for, they still pressure you to talk numbers, or what's even worse imho, start talking down about the other lots I intend to visit or cars I intend to test, then I know that won't be the dealership I use should I buy one of their models.

    I have seen car salesman at happy hour sitting together bragging about how they screwed car buyers earlier that day or week. They compare techniques and what works best for them. The bottom of the dregs, they are always moving around from one dealership to another.

    I'm not paying in full with cash but I'm going in there in a few weeks with $25,000 cash looking for a new frontier for about $40 to $45k. I'll need to finance the balance of cost. I'ma let them know I have $25k cash because they'd be crazy to let me walk out of there. I know exactly what I want and what options. This isn't negotiable it's my demand, I have a price that's fair I'm willing to pay and unless I get what exactly I want I'll simply leave. I have no problem leaving. It took me months to save that much money, I won't be manipulated in any way.

      The absolute best way is to rent a close proximity of the vehicle you are interested in from TURO. You can get the full experience of taking the car on your daily commute and see if that particular model truly fits your needs. Something you could never experience on a 15 minute test drive.

    He's the younger, more energetic salesguy you see on the lot than the old sniveling veteran salesguy. To me he's more capable than even Steve Richards is of deceiving a buyer at the top of the funnel. Bouncing around. Motivated. Higher energy. Believe it or not folks are drawn to enthusiasm. This is where I can see his 700k salary coming from. Not his knowledge or skill.

    The only way I've ever done it is:
    Pay cash. no trade in.
    My number is going to be way low, and I don't give a hoot if I have to walk away. Show no emotion of any kind.
    I have never felt bad walking away, because that tells you what their real boundary is. (This approach does not work if you own one car and need a new one by Monday morning.)

      Buying any of those cars, for starters. Unless you took a gigantic payout (PLEASE don't say how much here, or anywhere else!), and you literally have piles of cash to just waste, think very hard about cars like these. They are rolling theft targets, extremely high insurance cost, and hardly year-around cars in all but the most sunny climates.
      Assuming you're still go to buy, watch Kevin's other videos; he talks about online buying. And remember, a high-end car buyer can be fleeced as well by stealership tactics of overpriced options, "math errors" on dealer stickers, etc.

    I am in the finance arm and I enjoy being open and honest. I don’t push anything…we give them options that do have benefits for them if they hold the car for a long time. It’s not a bad thing ti get 3 years of service…yea your paying for it but you get it done a d a free loner care…we also drive you to and from the dealership and can even deop the car off at your house. We live in the south and we put tint on each car and it’s listed in the finance. The actual amounts are itemized most read the wording.
    These channels want to out car dearships out of business. They know we make nothing on the car itself….people are amazed when I openly tell them how much we are making just on the car. On new cars it’s so limited. Not sure why you’re bashing the finance department.

    Always, always, always get multiple offers for your car.....dealers, carvana, carmax maybe even private sale.......by the time I talk to a salesperson I know exactly what a fair price is on new, price fir mine, options I want, and also I know my interest rate....my conversations with them are very short....not much to talk about really...and they are done from my house not at the dealer...I only go to them to pick up car ( thats not always necessary either)......alot of this is just common sense really

    1) If I don’t like the sales person, it’s not because he’s a bad person (even though he probably is because he’s selling cars), it’s because he didn’t give me the deal I wanted. Telling me that he’s a nice guy and I’m gonna like him is not gonna make me “like” him. Giving me the deal I want will make me like him. 🙄
    2) I bought a brand new car two years ago. Unless it’s a lemon or there’ve been a bunch’a recalls, the ONLY thing that I would’ve HAD to fix/change on the car would be the tires.
    3) Nothing’s about to go wrong on the car. I have my car serviced according to the recommended scheduling (and I have a full record of services right here in this binder). Anything that goes wrong on the car is addressed during the service.

    One big clue is many states don't have a cool off period. Looking over a lease from California and states there is no cool off period. Some states have this. Those states know how predatory the car business is. Buy the way, the lease I'm looking over is full of cra..p. Missing, inaccuracy annddd.... You guessed it. Fees..

      If the rate is more favorable to your local bank, and most importantly, they have no penalty for early payment it should be not problem. Just watch out to make sure they don't add in any fake "financing" fees. Good question.

    I actually like playing games, from time to time. I see something new to add to my game. When the pencil and paper are pushed across the desk, I will pick up the paper so they cannot take it back, and I will push the pencil back to their side of the desk. That will signal that they are not in control as much as they think they are. I already do not answer all of their questions. I may say something like "why do you ask, is that important to you?"

    I never give up control to a customer if they come in and they insisted there in control of the interaction and not me I show them the door. I have an 8-step sales process that I have to follow or I lose my job if they aren't willing to participate in that process they're going to have to leave. I'm not going to be disrespected or lose my job because some Karen like your lady friend comes in and thinks she knows more about the vehicle the value or the process than I do just because she spent two hours looking around online to make a decision.
    My advice to car buyers as a salesman and as one of the few decent ones out there is always let the salesperson complete their process regardless of whether you have half the work. If you know a specific car that you want to buy and you're going to be a cash buyer and everything else that's fine let me go through my process of everything including the test drive the interview and everything else because that is what my sales manager is expecting to say and if you aren't a three or four-year veteran now most of these dealerships your boss shows you the doorif you weren't going through the motions that you have to go through. Always understand dealers have policies and respect those and respect the sales guy. It's a guy who is probably paid nothing if they don't make a sale. I'm probably not paid all that well when they make one especially if you don't buy all the extras in the finance office. Will follow their process answer their dumb questions laugh at their dumb jokes and trust me you will get out of there a lot faster than if you don't follow the process dealership in Vegas and think you'll be in control of the interaction that will make you sit there for hours and waste as much of your time as as possible and make buying the car the worst experience ever in hopes that you won't come back. I essentially have to tattle on the customer so that I don't lose my job if they aren't following the process of letting me control the interaction will still sell you a car it just may take hours...... I can make it a 1-hour and 10-minute process from the time you sit down at my desk until the time you're driving away in the car. No matter how much work I have to do.

    Andy Elliott - I don't really give a crap about sales muppet tactics. Besides outright fraud there's the psychology of the deal. Once you understand these things its not difficult to play the same games... or just walk away. You count on inexperienced buyers that fall in love with new shiny stuff and yeah there's a lot of those.
    Fully support getting rid of the clown circus of buying a car.
