We used to do this with the old 2-cycle carts because people would mix gas and oil 50:1... on an injected system. Waaaaaaaay too much oil. The 2-cycle engines ran 128:1.
Please assist, during neutral and gas pedal pressed fully, I can see the throttle rod moving in and out (like if I'm pressing and releasing gas pedal manually)?
I definitely would have cleaned that valve cover prior to removal. Camera work needs to be improved. I’ve watched a few of your videos for tips it’s amazing how little the owners do to care for their carts. Please a little less jabber. 😊
Like the camera work Kevin. I know you are aware of this but it's worth saying anyway for others that don't know. GUNK makes a 1 gallon can of carb cleaner with an inner strainer. That can be used in the place of an ultrasonic cleaner. I have had great success with using it while restoring and working on carbs and other small parts. Keep up the great your doing Kevin. Thanks again for the upload
Thanks! I'm personally not a fan of those 1 gallon carb cleaner cans. I used to use them but they created more work and were messy. I have an ultrasonic cleaner, but I still prefer to use good ol' carb cleaner in a spray can. For me, its much faster.
I'm doing the same to a ex go mpt. 2 stroke robin.smoking like crazy. Rebuild the head and valve seals are new..still smoking, bad oil ring on the pistion. Rebuild time.
Great and informative video. I use power tools all the time for disassembly and reassembly. If you have a feel for your tools, it saves a lot of time and energy. Sorry your battery wrench is out of commission.
Absolutely agree with you there! I know my tools very well and I can "feel" when its right. Its something that only experience can teach. You will never learn it in a text book. I hope to replace the electric ratchet soon, though the air is powerful.
I have a g16 gas Yamaha that is has a broken governor and or diff. I am car guy but have no clue what to do on this. Leaving it for the professional if you have a cart that is revving out with no speed variability.
Hey Kevin love the videos they help me out a lot! I got a 03 ezgo gas and I will drive it for about five minutes or longer and then I’ll take my foot off and stop for like 10 seconds and then when I try and go again I lose all power, cart will run but won’t rev up high to move. I’ll wait like 10 -15 min and then the engine runs fine again. Have you encountered this before? Thanks!
Thanks for the ride along, I have a late nineties model EZ Go. Bought used, seems to run well, but I need to service it soon. Your video was very helpful.
Kevin- My fule filter doesn't fill with as much fuel as what I'm seeing on this filter while you were running it. It fills with barely a 1/4 or less while its running. But my cart is hard to start and when it does run it smells rich. My valves are all adjusted correctly as well. I have a new fuel pump and a newer carb (OEM ezgo). Any thouhgts.
Sometimes these filters won't fill completely up. Depending on its orientation, it could appear completely empty. If you remove the fuel line from the carb and crank the engine, it should pump a small amount of fuel. If it doesn't you will need to check your lines starting with the siphon tube in the tank. I would do a compression test and verify you have good compression before going too deep.
There are more EZGOs in my area. Many of my customers don't maintain them very well so they have more breakdowns. I see about the same number of Yamaha and Club Car carts as I do EZGOs. I don't like EZGO as much, especially the newer ones. I think they are poor designs. The battery ratchet head wore out. I think it was a fake Milwaukee ratchet.
Its funny that you bring this up. While I was editing this video, I was wondering how long it would take before someone commented this. I did address the clamps before shipping this one out.
Direct from EZGO is where I get them. If you call them, have your golf cart's serial number ready. They will be able to find the correct part. If you are missing the hardware, you can get a kit.
Because it may create more issues. If there's an electrical problem, the last thing you want to do is wash everything with water. Some people don't want their carts washed. Some people don't want to pay me for the extra service of washing their cart.
Great learning experience. Thanks Kevin
I have a 99 TXT with a Robin engine. It's back firing out the exhaust and carb. What's the problem? TY
Always enjoy your videos. How about doing one on valve adjustment on the EZGo Kawasaki engine?
I've noticed these smoke if the oil is overfilled. Then it gets caked up in the muffler, requiring a muffler "bbq" to clear out.

This is normal if you are not driving under load. The linkages are out of adjustment and over revving.

Great job

What happened to your battery powered ratchet? Batteries? Worn out? I know how much time it saved you.
Great job Kevin!
Tire doesn't hold air 🤣 had no idea about the spring for the brakes very cool I may try to lubricate it.

You seem to get more ezgo carts than others. Just more of them in your area or do they have more problems? What happened to your battery ratchet?

What oil do you use for these?
Convensional 10w30.
love everything ur doing new to ur vids
Thank you!!
Kevin, I’d love to see how you clean the engine compartment with a pressure washer.
My most recent videos shows me washing a cart.
Are some retaining pins on the float valve not removable? I couldn’t get mine out of the float to expose the valve.
Some carbs have the pins pressed in. They are all removable.
Rumor has it, that he has still forgotten to put the clamps back on the fuel filter :P

@@Kevinsgolfcarts I figured you would. You're quite attentive to detail!
Where can I get a spark arrestor/carb baffle plate?
Direct from EZGO is where I get them. If you call them, have your golf cart's serial number ready. They will be able to find the correct part. If you are missing the hardware, you can get a kit.
Great job on the video was that a 295cc?
Yes it is.
Great 👍👍 job.
Thank you!
Missed you
WHY DON'T U POWER WASH THE PLACES OFF WHERE U ARE WORKING ON
