Khmer Krom are not the ethnic minority in Vietnam, they are the First Nation people of South Vietnam Kampuchea Krom. They are the first people and have been living in their land over 1000 years before the arrival of Viet people from North.
The word Thai is created only in 1949. There’s Tai. Tai Chieftain Fa Muang brought Tai refugees from Nanchao to come living with Khmer people in Khmer province Sukhotei during the Mongols invasion Nanchao, China in 1253

Later the French gave Kampuchea Krom illegally to Vietnam. Khmer Krom people who fled Kampuchea Krom during the Vietnam war to go living in abroad, they’ve been fighting for their land back especially at UNPO. This year is 75th birthday of Khmer Krom losing land to Vietnam.
160,000 Chinese Khmers is a very inaccurate number. I have seen too many Chinese Khmers in Srok Khmer, on multimedia, and in overseas Khmer communities. I would number them 2-4 millions, if not larger.
Lao King Fa Ngum took refugee with his father to Khmer Empire when he was young in the 13th century. Fa Ngum grew up and studied at the Khmer Royal Court. The Khmer King Jayavarman VIII married his Khmer Princess Keo Kenkanya to Fa Ngum and granted 10,000 Khmer soldiers to go liberated Lan Xang (Former Chenla land now Laos) from Siam occupation. Fa Ngum won war against Siam and made himself as a King of Lan Xang means thousands of elephants Kingdom. Khmer Princess Keo Kenkanya became Queen of Lan Xang and introduced Khmer culture and Khmer Theravada Buddhist to Lan Xang Kingdom. Her descendant Khmer-Lao King Setthatherat built Si Muong Khmer temple in Vientiane dated over 400 years ago.
Lao always remember where their culture influences but Siam don’t except the truth about their culture influences by Khmer too now they’re starting to excuse khmer copy from them and they’re make a fake history about Cambodia and rewrite their history without any evidence

When I asked them, there’s a Khmer King Udayaditiyavarman II wrote in the 11th century on the stone script wishing that “If I will be rewarded of my meritorious acts, I wished to reborn in Kampuja again” So why that Varman King not wishing to reborn in Thailand, but in Cambodia? They claim they’re educated and civilized but with these types of actions from them, educated and civilized aren’t what they are.
