Work with a man who had to watch Pol pots people kill his sister and mother. He basically said it was a line to get killed. His mother was a doctor I believe and his sister was a teacher. Luckily granted asylum in the US. One of the best guys I know.

Back at those days pol pot the name of the cambodian or vietnamese is quite unclear but theories in cambodia today believe that pol pot was a vietnamese who planned the genocide, as he kill every one who is smart because the smart are the only people who can bring him down, he was a afraid of this 1 factor so anyone who dares talk back , show any signs of advanced knowledge he will torture if not execute on the spot. The pol pot era or better known is khmer as ‘khmer kr hom’ translated to red khmer, were the days that brought khmer from independent, powerful, smart, developed to the opposite of which. 😢

My mother was pregnant with my older sister during that time. She escaped into the jungles during the night. She was a slave captured by Pol Pot’s men. She realized she was made to dig a mass grave with others it was actually her grave and many others. She snuck out the slave camp by hiding under dead bodies and using a small bamboo to breathe while she hiding in a lake of dead bodies. Since I was a child I seen her wake up in cold sweat and screams from the ptsd she had. She is the most resilient person I know.

I talked to a fellow Vietnamese freedom fighter who used to own a Viet restaurant. One day, one of his employee, a Khmer guy violently threw dozens of expensive dishes on the ground and started yelling.
The Viet owner was rightly so, mad as Hell. But when asked why he did that, the Khmer guy broke down, started crying and told him how he had flashbacks of seeing his ENTIRE FAMILY MURDERED IN COLD BLOOD by the Khmer Rouge.
The Viet owner felt sorry for his poor Khmer employee and kept him instead of firing him. So much sorrow and pain in our world...

My neighbor fled the country during the war. All but 2 of her 11 children died (some from starvation). She lived with her son, daughter in law, and two grandchildren (who were my age). She didn't speak much English, so my friend explained what happened. It was horrific.

Before the coup that removed him, he was against the Khmer Rouge and those caught were sentenced to death. There's even an old French interview asking why he was taking such a harsh approach. Who or what gave rise to Khmer Rouge? Studies done by Yale University points to the US carpet bombing of Cambodia for years and then the coup. The North Vietnamese army and China were big supporters of the Khmer Rouge. When the rest of the world turned their backs on Sihanouk after the coup, he only had China to turn to. China convinced Sihanouk to align with the Khmer Rouge, and the Khmer Rouge led Sihanouk to believe that they would overthrow the Lon Nol government and reinstate him. Sihanouk was not aware of the Khmer Rouge plans to wipe out people of a certain socio-economic class, bomb the country back to the stone age "Year Zero" and force the population to farm.

If the leader was being manipulating by foreigners, the country most likely will face a destruction. It's better to focus on the goal and what was best for the country as a whole. It sad that leaders during that dark period failed to search for solution before a genocide occurred. Cambodia should strategized plan A and plan B or a backup plan in case similar event was happen again. Your statement is 100% sound legitimate.

Thailand lost territory on the left bank of the Mekong River. (Lan Xang Kingdom) or Laos) No. 10 to France on October 3, 1893. An area of 143,000 square kilometers during the reign of King Chulalongkorn belonged to Thailand since the fifth reign of King Naresuan. Will have to pay to France according to the Thai and French contracts are not enough. France demands 1 million baht from Thailand for damages against Thailand. Paying insurance that Thailand has to comply with the contract, another 3 million baht is still not enough. France sent troops to seize Chanthaburi and Trat for 15 years, the most painful. of Thailand to the extent that the inner boss has to sell costumes To bring money to Rama 5 as a fine, Rama 5 must bring a red bag. This article is about to show the interesting facts about Cambodia.
    Ankor wat
Facing to the west, because our ancestors built this monument for the future even, when the second sun comes ,the west will become to be the east , and a very even will happen in Cambodia. You know a richest country in the last day ,that your Bible says
An island in the east and the island in the west, where ?
It's Cambodia , not Philippines. Our ancestors still alive, they are preparing for a time comes, they do meditation and live in a deep inside of mountains. Sorry i forgot how English called it. (Kanal)
We are Khmer but the word khmer was written in complex style ,was read as khem mac rac not khmer. When Thai occupied Cambodia they read this word as khmen(r) not in the complex style, in normal style, so the word khmer was born , so we have to names khmer and Khem mac rac.
Khmer had the killing field because of Vietnamese they pretending to be khmer, impostor like Pol Pot , even Hun Sen , too.
Now Hun Sen is pushing khmer to very danger of nuclear by giving land to China, our ancestors, too predicted that...

Some of the information contained in this clip is questionable. I know of another source which states that approximately 2,400 years ago, a large group of indigenous people left the Southeast coast of the U.S., sailed 6,000 miles to Southeast Asia and started the Khmer race of people. They also became extremely adept at raising rice crops. This sounds like the people who later inhabited the Southeastern Coast of the U.S. who also, were extremely adept at the growing and harvesting of rice which made other certain people extremely wealthy. Now you connect the dots.................................

Indonesia, Malaysia, today's Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, some parts of Vietnam, etc were all prevalently Hindu but other religions gained more prominence over the course of time to the point that people believe the present cultures of these countries are existing from the beginning itself.

This is historical information. minutes 4:37 that overlap both time and place with local historical records, China, India, Sri Lanka, Burma, Java, Mon, Champa, Nipun and Thailand, etc. (which have been recorded in the same way without appointment) with the kingdoms of Srivijaya, Dvaravati, Lawo, Srithep, Ishanpura, Wima. Yapura, Sikhotabura, etc., which are a large number of federal city-states in Southeast Asia. which was born before and still exists at the same time
    example :
: Buildings with the same art and culture as Angkor Wat, namely Phimai and Phanom Rung, were built hundreds of years before Angkor Wat.
: KHOM is a civilization/culture. In Suvarnabhumi, there are many nationalities and cultures.
    : Khmer is ethnic
    : KHOM not Khmer
: In conflict ; There is a similar reference that KHOM built Angkor Wat.
: The word "KHOM"" has no record in any Khmer history.
: Also in corresponds to Khmer records that the first Khmer king was the "Tang Van" rebel, who led the Khmer people to revolt and kill the Varaman 9 dynasty in 1336, ending the city and dynasty.
: In addition, various cultural details in the castle also show evidence of linguistic civilization. Pallava/Ancient KHOM using decimal number language Unlike the Khmer language that uses a base five number base ... which is impossible for the Khmer community that claims to have been growing since the 15th century B.E. international base ten reduced to base five.

To know the History of Cambodia, Khmer must know the history of the Chu-Han first and their descendant evolved into controlling every aspect of Cambodia government in all 4 modern day colonial regimes. Every book I read were misleading until I understand the Chu-Han that every author failed to grasped and truncated from the history of Cambodia. Every author also truncated the significant of the Mac Cuu Dynasty and concentrated too much on the linked to China that it's government understand very little about Cambodia people and society.

I couldn't agree more. My country is probably the unluckiest country in Asia (unluckier than North Korea) because our territories were occupied by foreigners from 1795-1953 and went through the genocide and civil war until 1998. Still nowadays we have bad living conditions compared to our neighbors. Thailand and Vietnam are far developed from us. In the future we do not know what any worst things can happen to us.
