That Dish looks amazing I have to try this , you got me craving crab now lol , Cheers for this video as always
You’ll love it
Ok Will when are you and Aron going to do a Iron chief competition? We all keep asking but nothing from either one of you guys??? What is the deal with you guys???😮😢
When the time is right we will
They’ve already done one
I Eat the mustard and the wiggles inside of them(not the gills)
Same here!
@@CookingWithClams my in-laws in new jersey wash them out before eating them.
I just made your dish but with Dungeness crab. I give it 4/5 stars. Next time I’m gonna use half of the red curry paste! Thanks for sharing.
I love that!!! Thank you for telling me and thank you for trying it
Will rockin' the 80's checkered board Van's! 🤙Love me some blue crabs but man they are a pain to pick the meat and nope on the mustard or tomalley! Aaron's face when he took his 1st bite, LOL! I have never had custard before but given the chance I will definitely give it a try.
It’s like jello and pudding mixed together
Dang I really, really, really want some of that right now...........
Mustard is the bomb!! I love it.
1000% great video!! Love when y'all do the shrimping and crabbing! Great dynamics and a wonderful meal! Thanks again for sharing and taking us along as usual
Thank you! These are the most fun to make
I don't know about Florida mustard but we eat the Maryland mustard! Lol
It’s just as good!
@@CookingWithClams good to know! I will be in Islamorada in 6 weeks!
I took the family out to the sunshine skyway bridge (mouth of Tampa Bay) for crabbing. It would get very competitive with some people and those long nets, I would get defensive (territorial), but didn't need to, as I purchased small cast-nets for my 2 sons (age 7 and 10). A 4' net with 3/8" mesh was perfect for my young boys. It was humorous, as My boy's would throw out past the reach of the netters, and catch the crabs, long before "those" people could reach them. My son's enjoyed it so much, that we stayed the entire tide change (until 2:00am in the morning). We easily caught a 5 gallon buck of large blue-claws, and my mother steamed them up (lots of Old Bay seasoning), followed by picking them the next morning.
That sounds like a perfect night and nothing better than a perfectly steamed crab
Looks like a blast buddy! Not sure if this helps out or if it would work. When I was a kid picking up night crawlers with a regular flashlight was tuff. They would run away at the first sight of the flashlight. Some smart person recommended I use a red light. Night crawlers couldn't sense it. Maybe a red light for catching crab and shrimp would work without scaring them? I wouldn't have any experience with this though. Good luck!
Someone else mentioned that as well, I’ll try it
Another great video. Y’all have taught me to experiment with different seasonings. I’m far from a good cook but using tips from y’all’s channel can dress up anything. Thanks
I love that! Keep cooking
Awesome dish, could never make it but I'd eat it! I try to save the mustard for seafood risotto, or just slurp it down. Its a delicacy, or an acquired taste, Kinda like the tomalley in a lobster.
In risotto is genius!
Excellent quote by the KWW while standing in the water. "I almost fell in the water!"
Fun harvesting fellows. Enjoy the weekend. Aaron's eye brow raise when he took the first bite said it all. I bet that be a 55 dollar dish if you could even find it at any restaurant. Nice Will! And I remember you really enjoy fixing food for the people you care about not for the money. Nice hair do on KWW wifey too!
It would be pricey haha
Hey as usual love it , hopefully you can come to Trinidad and try our mangrove crabs!!! I’ll show you to to catch them lolzz
I’d love that!
You should see the Blue Crabs we catch on Staten Island New York during the summer from 6 in to 9 in point-to-point also every now and then we catch a lobster in our crab traps
That’s huge!!
The custard looks good? I think Madeleine with her new hairstyle looks much better. A good one again Will
Haha
I’m going to have to try and cook that…looked amazing. Excellent work as usual
Don’t let the custard go over 170°
Well, that's on my list of things to do the next time I am in Big Pine Key. Gonna make crab Rangoons with real crab meat and probably a pasta dish.
Heck yeah
Man what a life! Love it
Wouldn’t trade it for anything
You Better have saved one for Madeline !!!
Oops didn't wait till the end to comment...
Haha she couldn’t miss out
Dayamn...Madeline looks very nice! Awesome recipe!
Hair DO
Do you think using low fat coconut milk would improve the separation, or will you lose too much flavor going that route?
That would make it worse I think
Mad stoked at how much you enjoyed the process on this one. Definitely gonna have to try this recipe out. Keep it up Clams the content is most excellent
Appreciate it thank you!!
Another banger!
you can use the upper claw or the tip of crab's legs to actually get the meat, no need for meat scraper tool =).
True!
Eat the mustard every time or use it for sauce. I can't believe that some people throw away so much flavor.
I put it on a bowl of rice
Great sounding custard with crab, yummy.
It was better than I expected
Always interesting and entertaining!
I thought the size limit was State wide, here in Jax I think the limit is 5 inches across!
Not in the keys. I know in ny it’s 4.5
25.00
Whip the mustard in melted butter and spread it on crunchy baguette bread.
I put it on some rice
We are on the west coast and it’s Dungeness season. I personally don’t eat the mustard!
I don’t think I’ve ever had it from dungeness
😎✌️👍
awesome channel: Cooking With Clams
for some reason I can't find any episodes where your cooking with clams?
I am clams! Haha. I have cooked some soft shell clams but this summer I hope to go clamming
I was a guys house on boca Chicago road who put big traps out back for blue crabs
Most people use traps down here
That looks awesome! The heat, the sweet, the salt, the sour, the cream...
Oh yeah!
Wish i lived where i could fish for all this great seafood
It’s a pretty special place for that reason
Eat that mustard.put that shit on everything.😀
I ate it separate over rice! Haha
I think Madelin is ready to be the judge 😅😂
Always
So relaxing to watch the adventures then the amazing food afterwards.
Appreciate it
Great video Will! The catch was hilarious with all the misses & catches & Aaron getting snatched. Lol. That custard looked absolutely delicious. I’m wondering if it’ll work with Atlantic lobster. I’m betting on it. Any chance you can share the recipe.
Thanks for sharing!!!
It absolutely would work. I’ll have to re watch the episode for the recipe haha
@@CookingWithClams I’ve watched, but I always wonder about certain ingredients when it comes with quantities. Lol
This recipe is so mouthwatering.
It’s a keeper for sure
I commented a few seconds too early!!!
Haha
Nice looking shrimp and crab catch. I've had some mustard and it seems like it's meant for the crab pot. Same for the green stuff in the lobster pot. Do people still use nutcrackers for seafood?
They definitely do
Happy 80 to Mama Clams. Cooking :)@@CookingWithClams
This is definitely on the menu for the near future! BTW congrats on the big jump in subs. Keep it up Clams
Thank you! Just don’t let the custard go over 170°, the eggs will scramble
@@CookingWithClams awesome! Good to know thanks
Why didn’t Madeline get to eat???
Late to the party
Yoooooo
Looks delicious but where’s the gravy for the rice?
It’s what you put the custard on
@@CookingWithClams oh ok got you boss
You threw a claw shell into the meat
Easter egg
I don't know if you know about this also the male crab has totally blue and white on his claws do females Claus on the tips that's either a dark orange or a brownish color
Lipstick crabs
@@CookingWithClams yep I just call him regular female crabs like I was saying the coloration on the claws cuz a lot of people when I go crabbing and tell people walk by you what kind of crap I turn blue claws I say this once a male and they always say to me how can you tell and I explained it to them
TNX 4 VID LOL
Thank you!
The mustard on the crab I eat
Same here
Be careful, a Blue Crab will cut through your net to escape.
One tried and got Aaron’s leg
@@CookingWithClams years ago my friends and I use to go down to Big Pine Fishing Lodge and we would catch a bunch of blue crabs by using Tiki torches on a shallow flat. We would catch a bunch and put them in a five gallon bucket. Well after a few cocktails we came up with a fun game. We threw a handful of mud in the bucket with the crabs and one by one we plunged our hand in the bucket and whoever could keep it in there the longest while being pinched was the winner. We called the game Blue Crab Roulette.
Hey will I hope all is well with you I absolutely love that recipe and I am going to try it and it looks so delicious
Don’t let the custard go over 170°
Okay thanks will
Cool channel!
Appreciate that!
Dude, that meal looked killer!!!!
Might be a way to make Florida lobster taste good other than bisque
I like to boil it with a lot of salt
@@CookingWithClams As an old fisherman. Not sure if I’ve ever seen anyone do king Mac salad. Once you eat that you’ll never eat tuna salad. Boil it and put mayo plus what ever you like. I sometimes boil the king in old bay. My family requests it.
LOVE THE COOKING !!!!
Thank you!!
Oh man that looked amazing , can’t go wrong with crap and coconut
Like peanut butter and chocolate
@@CookingWithClams damn son , now ya did it , lol I want a Reese’s
Way more yield on those crabs than I expected. Looked delicious!!!
They give the best yield
Eat the mustard.
Almost always. It’s too good not to. I get why people don’t but I can’t usually pass it up
Great video Chef, it looks great.
You two have a great energy together and work well as a team. 10/10
Yes we do
I don’t understand why you’re not wearing headlamps instead of holding the flashlight with one hand what is that?
We are using both
@@CookingWithClams yeah but let me give you a little clue here you can’t use a bright white light you’ll chase them away. If you use a red light, they won’t run from you and you’ll be able to get them much easier food for thought.
@@georgeniebergall7074Aloha, I think they’re not using red lights is because they can’t film.
I eat it all up
Same here
As usual, well another great video, I have learned so much by watching your kitchen cooks, and his made some of the recipes
That makes me pretty happy
Another Fun Video, Will(!!) ... Thanks, Man(!!) 🙂. Here in central NC, fresh ingredients from the sea can mangle the billfold, but I still save your recipes for trips and special occasions. Your adventures are always fun to watch too ... thanks for sharing 🙂. Later, Dude 🙂.
I’m actually filming in nc at the moment
@@CookingWithClams • Welcome(!!) ... Beware of white liquor and banjos 👀 Lol 🙂.
That night crabbing and shrimping looks a lot of fun. Your cooking never disappoint Will. I can see a Key West Waterman and Cooking with Clams cookbook in the near future!
We’ve toyed with the idea
I do'nt eat the mustard.
Never?
Never
I love your night hunting adventures so much!
It’s so fun
I used to spend my summers in Avalon NJ as a kid and we would go out at 11pm and crab the docks until the sun came up. My grandma would tell us dont come back until you have enough crab for everyone. Something about crabbing at night that you cant explain, plus no one was out there. Man those were the good old days.
We did the same in Jamaica bay
Awesome looks good! Thank you that was great to watch.
Thank you Dennis
Sooo good! Watching you two stumble around in the mud was classic - the only thing missing was the "Hold my beer" intro.
Hahaha
Another great video! Thanks so much Will!
Thank you!
Fun video as usual! Being from Maryland, near the north end of the Chesapeake Bay I have to say I love the mustard! You are an amazing chef and please keep the fun coming!
Appreciate that Lou, thank you
I was so glad to see a plastic cutting board. Those bamboo boards make a sound under a knife that crawls right into my spine.
They ruin your knifes edge as well
I don't intentionally eat the mustard but it does get on the meat when I am picking at them. It does lend a lot of flavor to the meat. I've never done a recipe with crab meat. I just cook them with Old Bay and dip them in butter.
They are something that doesn’t need much. I do love just a perfectly steamed crab
Hello Will nice crabs, down here in South Louisiana we eat the fat, eggs and mustard love the stuff when we have a crab boil that stuff sucks all the seasons up man that taste so good , y'all should put some small traps for the shrimp put a little can dog food in them that's what we use when cast netting punch some holes in the cam or use some all mess netting works well tks for the video.
I put a shrimp trap there with cat food, left it over night…. Not ONE shrimp. Not one
Amazing video and pro chef ! Thanks
Thank you!
Red curry is one of my favorites. Making it into a custard is another great idea. Thanks for another great idea.
It’s an older Thai dish I had to see if I could pull off
Looks amazing! The food, the hairs nice too.
That new do
Another great vid. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching
The hunt brings back a lot of childhood memories. The cook looked absolutely delicious!
I used to love catching them off the dock as a kid
👍👍
I love that messari curry paste.
Unbeatable
So Much Fun you two!🤗👍
Haha always fun
I so needed this recipe! Thanks!
Don’t let the custard go over 170°
Thanks!
