I was there in 1987. I loved every minute of it. It cost me $4.00 a day for a motel on the beach in those days. I fell in love with the Caribbean way back then. Went snorkling at the other end of the Island, it was a great experience. I learned how to scuba dive after that.
There was a military base at the other end of the island at that time also. Happy to see Maddie there! Love the video. Brought back so many memories! Thank you!

I found Isla 15 years ago. I now stay 6 months per visit. It used to be a bargain to stay here. However, since the end of covid, inflation, and the weak dollar it's become about 30 to 40%% more expensive. Also, at times too crowded with day trippers from Cancun. For extended stays, you can take the bus around Isla for 20 pesos. Hop on/off from anywhere on the bus route. Just flag them down. Also, street tacos can be found for 25 pesos. Chedraui(mid-island) is like Walmart and will be the cheapest for food, alcohol, swimwear ect. CARM is the best for ground transport to the airport and tours in Cancun.

I was in Cancun and Cozumel in 2016 but didn't make it to Isla Mujeres at that time. They all have a special charm about them. I like Cancun for the Ruins and the Cenotes. I like Cozumel for the water and snorkeling. But I like the places you have shown us that most of us aren't familiar with. I hope to see more beautiful Mexico destinations.

I lived there for a glorious year… it was 1984. One car on the island, yes ONE. An old VW Bug. Only other transportation ~ mopeds or walking. SO awesome… I’m sad to see all that growth but very grateful to have been there when it was just a small fishing village,. Thank god the water is still crystal clear. Thank you for sharing, great video! Oh, you could get a freshly caught grouper cooked right there on the beach along with a couple of cold beers for about $3.00. I got your feed (just today) asking us to vote when we would like you to post this video. Funny thing, I already watched this video the other day. I don't understand why RUclips sends the coming attractions days after the premiere has already been posted. I watched your video again anyway. Since I didn't leave a comment at that time, I am commenting now... Isla Mujeres is beautiful. I was there for only a day myself and hope to return some day for a longer stay. I saw the turtle sanctuary on the west side, as well as, the little island made out of recycled plastic bottles which holds a modest home and garden. I felt your nostalgia and loss when you watched that Husky saunter by; I got a little choked up with sentiment and teary-eyed as I imagined you had Laska in your thoughts. As it is Sunday, I'll take a moment to wish you a Happy Easter!🧡

Love watching your videos! Always awesome! I took my first trip to Mexico in February. Hoping to take several more trips and to be able to move to Mexico by 2025.

My daughter & I went to Isla Mujeres a few years ago. It is one of my happy places. I love the laid back quality compared to the Riviera Maya. I enjoyed your video mucho. ❤

Thanks for the glimpse of Isla. We got engaged there and had our honeymoon there as well. 25 Years ago. Back then we stayed on the North end of the island and borrowed buckles to ride to the south end. I’m very glad that I got to experience this paradise then. It still looks lovely but it was less busy and more affordable back then. As was Playa del Carmen. We likely won’t be going back as there is so much more to explore in Mexico. It was lovely to see the island again through your video. Also, you look great!
