What do you think of Leon, Guanajuato...is this a place you'd visit? Let me know where I should travel next! Also, be sure to subscribe to my email newsletter because the next edition is going out this weekend! maddiegold.aweb.page/p/1c1d4297-44aa-4e36-8d2a-cec315e981ea
Funny how people said something about your appearance lol I have many cousins born in Guanajuato who have blonde hair and even my dad has light brown hair and green eyes!! And yes he’s also born in Guanajuato as well as our whole family 😂😂😂
Hi Maddie, we love you. It's Dawn from Oregon...we talked a long time ago and here we are now in Isla de la Piedra leaving Tuesday to move down the coast further south towards Guatemala...
Hi Maddie, I was there at the same time you were, I’m a fan of yours since your old channel. Would’ve loved to have met you. Quick tip, you could stay in any hotel on Lopez Mateo (the avenue where la Feria takes place) and take the bus that runs up and down that avenue for $12 Mexican pesos one way. It’s very safe. 🙏🙌🏻 ps. We stayed at hotel San Francisco for $40 bucks a night. It’s only 2 miles from the fair.
I am 100% your fan. You eat street food like a pro and you enjoy every thing the Mexican culture has to offer. Thank you for loving this country so much.
I lived in Mexico for 5 years but came back to the U.S. and have been here for the past 8 years. You are living my dream Maddie, I CANT WAIT to move back to Mexico. Watching these videos inspire me.
The American Dream is now to save up $USD to emigrate to places where the economy and healthcare won't bankrupt a person for just living basically. I hope you find your ideal situation.
Great video Maddie, very entertaining. Compared to your old ones prior to this channel, this is more organic and natural. I look forward to seeing more of them. --chris in Texas.
Loved this video. It took me back to 5 years ago when I wandered around Leon and saw no other foreigners there. I'm a male so even more impressive for you to do it. Please keep creating videos like this. Due to my health I am no longer able to travel so I experience what I can through videos like these
I recently came across an old video of yours where you talk about how hard it is to speak in Spanish and it’s crazy how comfortable you are now! It’s only been 4 years but you had so much growth in your fluency.
Maddie, I love your videos where you show the products of the culture. Guanajuato is the birthplace of the Mexican muralist, Diego Rivera. If there are murals that he did in the city, I'd love to see a video about them. We have the Detroit Industry Murals, some of his best work, in the Detroit Institute of Arts, and I'd be happy to show them to you if you ever come to Detroit.
No Diego murals there but his birth house is a museum and if you look carefully you will find one of the first pencil sketches he did of Frida. A nude of her sitting, from the back.
Hi , I think this may be your best vid so far .... first it is nice to see your joie de vivre displayed in your outings .... keep it up girl and thank you for sharing your adventures 😉
I started watching when you were with that douchy guy. I kept yelling at the screen for you to dump that dude. I was thrilled when you stepped out on your own and were so real about the struggle. Now I yell at the screen “You go girl”. I am so excited to see the positive changes you are bringing to your life. You are an inspiration. I am always so excited to see empowered women who are showing the world that you don’t need someone else to live and thrive. This video was so well done. You are totally leveling up in every way. Bravo!
I also love Reik, im so happy you got to see them. I love your videos and have found myself waiting for your next one. Thank you for showing the world our beautiful culture, country, and people. Your videos make me so happy and also make me miss Mexico so much. Thank you for what you do 💛
I'm so impressed with your Español Maddie! The way you switch from English is seamless. Keep having fun experiences and thank you for sharing them with us!
Looks like a ton of fun. Thanks for taking us along despite being tired! P.S. I really enjoy your solo post-TT videos. It was your fun, bubbly personality that attracted and kept the people engaged, and I am glad to see your viewership numbers consistently grow. You're killing it, girl!
Glad you bought the tickets for the good seats. My amigo lives south of Leon and I'm familiar with being the "Solo Gringo". The emcee at a jaripeo (rodeo) enjoyed getting me involved in the fun in Penjamo. Even when I went to the fair in Queretaro, I was "Solo Gringo". But everyone is always so welcoming. Never a worry. Thanks for sharing.
Oh Maddie you always do such a good job! I always enjoy my breakfast while watching your new videos all the way here in Asia. I even recommend your channel to people learning English and a lot of them say they love your accent and your English is easy for them to follow and your energy makes them happy. I always play the commercials full course while I’m making breakfast too lol. Ok enough brown nosing and I can’t wait for the next one!
I’m loving these regular vlogs Maddie. Solo travelling is awesome. I am a solo female traveller .I started travelling alone at the age of 14 and I have been hooked ever since. Never travelled with anyone. Nothing bad ever happened to me in Mexico and I have been travelling there for a decade now. I was in Silao in September and I loved it. Currently in Aruba and I really regret coming here… it’s just not Mexico . Way to go girl❤👏👏 ¡Tù Español es increíble Maddie! Eres completamente fluida ☺️👌
I saw Reik live in concert a few months ago. They were one of the best bands I've ever seen live, and I definitely understand why you'd take a trip to see them.
Great Video Maddie. This is probably one of your best videos yet! I have been following you since Tangerine Travels so I have had the pleasure to see you grow and progress with your channel. Thank you for your informative and engaging videos.
Me gustó tu vídeo pero aún más tu carisma y muy buena vibra que transmites y simpatía. Yo soy del estado de Guanajuato pero nunca fui a la feria de Leon. Me parece jenial y divertida. Saludos Maddie desde la ciudad de Little Rock Arkansas.
Oh my Maddie! You went to the National Fair of León, one of the most important carnivals/fairs (besides the National Fair of San Marcos in the city and state of Aguascalientes) in all of Mexico! This is a fair that I’ve always been wanting to go to in my wonderful second home state of Guanajuato (besides New Mexico in the US)! I’m glad that you enjoyed this fair and that Reik concert! Hopefully you visit the San Marcos fair in Aguascalientes when it happens in April and in May! 😊
Your videos are always exciting, informative and creative while filming interesting new places. It's nice to see you having fun while enjoying your explorations.
I loved your observation about the second-hand joy from the local children. That's one of my favorite things about Mexico, how the second-hand joy quickly turns into first-hand joy. Cheers.
Congrats on being sober! I just had my 6th anniversary of my sobriety. Trust me, alcohol does nothing good for you, especially PTSD, depression, anxiety and thoughts of paranoia. I've always enjoyed doing festivals, flea markets, gambling in Vegas...by myself. There is something to be said about not having to worry about if the other person is having fun or ready to go or not interested in what I am. This was a great vlog, very fun. Wishing you continued success with your new sobriety! 😊
This video brought some great memories as my husband and I had the opportunity to go to FENAPO ( Feria in San Luis Potosi). We ate a lot and got on the rides. The ambience at these fairs is awesome. Thank you, for sharing, for having a positive attitude, and for being humble. I am glad you got a chance to see Reik and had a great time.
Hi Maddie. I love León. I was there last year for 18 days, and I didn't want to come back to the U.S. I'm going back this year. The ETN bus is the way to go. The Feria León looks like a great festival to attend. I hope you had a great time in León!
Nice fair, it looks like you had a lot of fun, good for you! Wow, you got some good deals on leather goods and your choice to purchase a seat for the concert was definitely the way to go.
"Los gritones" are quite common in remote towns whenever there are "ferias"or town celebrations is the way this places get some goods that are not sold there without having to make a trip to a nearby city or a bigger town but you can also find them in fairs like this in big cities (where there's people there's always opportunity)

I am very happy to see that you are traveling again and that you are such a brave and self-confident woman to continue living alone in Mexico. I hope and pray for your safety, not because you are in Mexico particularly, but there are areas that one hears are less safe than others, but I would not like you to have experiences that make you regret living in Mexico. I love your videos.
Really loving your videos Maddie! So interesting to see places in Mexico that I will probably never get to travel to! Also enjoy your lovely personality and sense of adventure! ❤️🤗
That looked like a super fun trip. guess I best take that bus to Leon for some shopping, looks fantastic! How about a trip to Ocotlan? I hear there is a Vortex there and also some great shopping.

Good afternoon Maddie. You're looking great. Thanks for sharing your vlog of traveling in Mexico and sampling all the mouth watering Mexican food. . 😍😍😎😎
thank you for that video. I enjoyed watching you eat, go on rides and all that beautiful leather you were looking at. Those boots you were trying on were so cute.

As a Mexican American, my dream is to retire in central Mexico one day. I would do it now but it's just not possible yet.
Maddie, your vidoes or vlogs are 1000% better than the other YT Channel that you used to be associated with. Hands down no contest. Keep em coming.😁
Wow, thank you! 😊
I'm really impressed by your Spanish, Maddie!❤

I was just thinking, "do you ever look back at the other channel's early videos to see how you struggled with Spanish?
I’m pretty proud of you Maddie. You just go places by yourself and it looks like you’re having fun!

Thanks for saying that! I’ve worked really hard to improve my Spanish 😮💨
Even though it's through a video, I can totally see your radiant smile through your fun travels.
