I was young and in love with a man who lived in Staten Island. I took the ferry to see him lots of times. I loved the rides and the smell of coffee and pine cleaner during those magical times on my youth. I miss this ferry.
you know your city poppin when you got triple decker ferries running non stop. that thing is like 3 greyhound bus stations on the water. salute to NYC!

It makes me think of the old TV show, I love Lucy, of an episode in which Lucy was on the Staten Island Ferry and she had taken Dramamine, and she fell asleep. I think when she woke up she found that she had taken several round trips. Awesome ride. This is the first video I have watched, of a trip on the ferry. I'd be interested in a video of a ride on the Roosevelt Island Tramway, and on the Roosevelt Island red buses sometime.
I’m from Staten Island and I use to go to school in Manhattan so this ferry ride is all to familiar. I remember boarding the ferry going home to SI on 911.... you could not see the city.... it was covered in black smoke. The ferry ride is nice in the summer time. I kinda miss it... nice video....
I remember riding the ferry in the 1950's when it cost five cents. There was a time when it cost 50 cents. And back that many years ago, the boat and terminal were not as nice.
It's cool that the Staten Island Ferry ride is free. 😎 The weather was beautiful that day along with the gorgeous view Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline! 😍 Thank you for taking us on this ride, AK!! 😃
Back when I was a kid in the 1970s. My dad used to take us on the ferry from manhattan to Staten Island during the summer months. I used to like when the ferry would bump against the wood piling when docking.
Out of all your NYC videos, this one makes me wanting to travel to see New York City and ride the Staten Island Ferry. The view from the boat is amazing. This boat ride looks better than the Catalina Express in SoCal. Man I got to one day get to see New York. Thanks for the video.
The Andrew J. Babarei was the ferry that crashed in October 2003 and killed 11 people. As for tourism on Staten Island, along the Esplinade, there is the 9-11 Memorial through which you can view where the towers were. Gorgeous views of NYC can be seen from there. There is historic St George, and for a bus ride away is Snug Harbor that houses several museums, a botanical garden, the Chinese Scholar Garden, a miniature lighthouse, a labyrinth, a castle, and historic buildings. There is Historic Richmond Towne, Alice Austin House, the Conference House. Where I live is the building where Aaron Burr died (the man who shot Alexander Hamilton) and one of the first Dutch Churches. These are just some of the historic sites.
I used to ride the S I Ferry a lot to NYC Whitehall Terminal and I love that ferry with Andrew J. Barber ultra much including the others and it's fun with my dad and mother and my other friends! Thanks for the share ActionKid!☺🤗🥰
I’ve been watching your New York videos and I’m considering moving there but I have to use a wheel chair every now and then due to a physical disability and I noticed that when it comes to the subway and the train it doesn’t look handicap accessible or am I wrong?
This ferry is much bigger then i thought! It’s a beautiful ride, do the ferry go when it’s blowing hard to? Really amazing wiev! Thank’s for this! TC! 🖐
Years ago, my late mom took the ferry and also went to Ellis Island to see where her family members came through. She was very excited to see the Statue of Liberty. I wonder how many NYers go see Ellis Island or if it is mostly visited by tourists.
I would not be riding the ferry as I have a terrible fear of water, deep water, or if I had to ride it, I would be sitting down in the middle of the ferry so I couldn't see the water.

Great video. Thanks for sharing it with us.
As kids we'd board the ferry at 69 St pier in South bk. Many attended school on SI pre bridge and used the ferry
It was a very nice ride on the Ferry Thanks Action Kid!! 🤗👏👏
Very nice tour and such a pretty day for a ferry ride.
Just a quick comment, your video and audio quality is unmatched anywhere on RUclips, congratulations

Wow, can't imagine a time when the ferry had a fare!

Funny enough the new “Wu-Tang” show on HULU dropped an episode today taking place on the SI ferry. 😆
Great timing!
Great video. One of the things I will absolutely do in NYC once I got there
Thanks for sharing this. Greetings from City Wander

The ferry used to hold cars. I did drive on there once. It was pretty cool do. Did it on the Fourth of July. Great memories

You have to experience the ferry!

Thanks for the Ferry Ride. It’s a huge ⛴
Thanks Action Kid, always enjoy your streams. Brings back great memories of NYC.
In the 1960s this was the last stop of the EE line to Queens.
Thanks for sharing, I will travel in your footsteps, when I visit NYC on vacation
Thank you for the showing!
Your videos and tips can't be beat - they've always helped me plan activities for trips to NYC! Thank you 👍🏼

Wow I didn’t know it was a free ferry !
Thanks Ken! I'll be riding this next month. Thanks for the video!
There are not too many towns where you have to go on a ferry to go to another part of the same town , NYC
I think of San Francisco and Seattle, but they got ferries to other towns and villages in the bay.
Someone sounded very angry in the background. 😱
Thank you for this!
On the other side I think you’ll see the huge tankers.
This ferry is much bigger then i thought! It’s a beautiful ride, do the ferry go when it’s blowing hard to? Really amazing wiev! Thank’s for this! TC! 🖐
I read that the Varrazzano Bridge had to be curved somewhat to accommodate the curve of the Earth.
Wow this vid should be great. Im doing similar vids here of Las Vegas strip walk. Thats great content !
Could you ride a motorized scooter or "wheel" through the station without getting in trouble?
Thaks my fried
I use to ride the Staten Island ferry ⛴ everyday to work at Amazon
Staten Island is New York's Texas. It depends on the rest of NYC but resents it enormously.
Years ago, my late mom took the ferry and also went to Ellis Island to see where her family members came through. She was very excited to see the Statue of Liberty. I wonder how many NYers go see Ellis Island or if it is mostly visited by tourists.
Not too many actually do visit Ellis Island!
@@ActionKidMaybe you will go there one day and show us around.
Hello Actionkid..i am from germany..i think your videos are very terrific....my dream is to come to New York one day...keep it up..Jasmin
Gorgeous video...
i rode that ferry as well.
The last time I was on the Staten Island ferry was back when cars were still allowed on it
does that ferry carry cars? Years ago you could drive your car on the S.I. ferry. Interesting vid. thanks ActionKid.
I was wondering the same thing. 🙂
Not anymore after 9/11
@@tkwong4351 they should restore the car section of the ferry OR make a car ferry from S.I. to the rockaways.
The Newhouse and Barberi are the highest passenger capacity vessels in the world at 6000 passengers each.

hi action kid given to New York by D France!!?? 1
The Varrizanno bridge contains 370.000.000 cubic yards of cement. This is the most cement NY mobsters have ever seen ABOVE water.
wish was there I wud talk to anyone yehbrian Ireland lonely guy But Mean Well Miss America I Do
I'm from NYC and rode the SI. ferry many times. However, it doesn't compare with the ferries of Puget Sound in Washington state.
ive always wanted to do this ferry instead of the one to the statute of liberty. i just think the statute of liberty ferry would me more crazy.

Since the SI ferry is free, who pays for it's operation, the taxpayers?
Nothing is free .
Doesn't answer my question.
@@mmccartney6579 You just answered your own question yes the tax payers of New York 🙄
