As a kid, my dad worked the tugboats in NY harbor and knew the ferry captains. One day around 1967, we went up to the pilot house of the John F Kennedy and the captain let me man the helm of boat. To this day my memories come back when I ride it.

Linda,s husband Ed. I was born and raised on Staten Island. Rode on the JFK and it's sisters and predecessors more times than I could count. This video brings back some fond memories. I've been out of state since 1964. Great job!!

When I lived in Staten Island in '84 & '85 I use to take the Ferry several times a week. I catch the subway at the World Trade Center Station.

The choice of colour for there ferries is a good one for hiding the rust streaks, our local ferry company, (BC Ferries), should follow suite. Or go back to maintaining the vessels like they used to with the crew scraping and painting as the blemishes showed up instead of waiting for the annual shipyard visit. Would love to see you exploring the ferries on the west coast of NA.. From Mexico to Alaska there are dozens of routes.
