Two things to consider. We’re not going to see the 2025 laptops until May probably. And if you are a consumer worried about threats of tariffs or actual tariffs here in the USA, it may make sense to buy a laptop on discount now.

Which will make the 5070 a worse buy than the 4070 as it will be even faster but have the same bottleneck, it honestly wouldn't surprise me if they launch a 5070 super that quietly replaces it with 12GB 6 months on when 3GB vram modules are available and they cab do it with a 128 bit bus.
Honestly, yes while the 50 series is coming out, it's really about if you can afford and wait for it. People never understand despite the showcase is coming during CES but when it will actually hit the market is a different matter especially for different region. Now that I see the 50 specifications, I'm very happy with my G16 4090, which I picked up in very good condition and with a warranty.
@@artlesscalamity I’d say they go on sale more often, and you start to see lower prices during those sales. Then eventually you see them on clearance if you catch it at the right time and that’s when you can get a really good deal. But that’s not usually until later in the year
my zephyrus g15 3080 died last week. 4 years of no issues at all. i was in the middle of saving anyway so it forced me into it. in the end i went with the msi sword hx17 i7 14650hx 4060 8gb. wanted a new zephyrus but i am quite happy with it so far. i just know a 2025 laptop will come out that i like better
I've seen this leak too, apparently the 12GB 5070 ti is now the 140w option, probably because they know their smaller gpus cant scale past 100w anyway.
2 big factors: all new games will be developed with the latest nvidia tech in mind. The more efficiency focussed cpus will dramatically improve all aspects of gaming laptops
Unfortunately its probably true and it looks like the 5060 = 4070 in performance. Also it wouldn't surprise me if they launch a 12gb 5070 later when the 3GB GDDR7 modules are available and quietly discontinue the 8GB 5070 as 8GB is going to be the main bottleneck most of the time with that card.
Great video man! I'm actually considering a used Zephyrus G14 2023 (RTX 4080), the guy is selling it for around $1776 after I negotiated it. I checked the unit in person and it's in excellent condition, only issue is one of the USB A ports is acting weird, though I can just have that fixed in my local Asus service center (I live in the Philippines so Asus's accredited service centers are really good here). Should I pull the trigger and get it? Mostly gonna be used for gaming and work when I travel, I play stuff like Total War Warhammer 3 (with mods), JRPGs, and some AAAs that I like (like Wukong or God of War). Would like to get at least 80-100 fps, High settings, I'm willing to even bring the resolution down to 1200p if needed.
I settled with Zephyrus G16 4080 a few months ago. Kinda wished I waited and went for AMD G16. But then again I also want that 4080 GPU since I am replacing my 3080 desktop with this G16. So far everything has been great except the Intel CPU still hits 90ish degrees even with power limit when gaming (temps for silent mode doing office / light stuffs is great tho). Is it expensive? Yeah. We don't have great pricing here in SEA unlike in US. I think we're more in line with European pricing. But I also feel that me getting this 4080 G16 will save me more money down the line because I won't get tempted to replace it anytime soon. Especially seeing the leaks of 5000 series. I'll just wait for 6000 series or even maybe 7000 series with this laptop. Man, that OLED screen is gorgeous. I don't think I'll ever go back to regular IPS laptop screen.
@JoshCravesTech true, the speakers are also really good. G16 is basically like my dream macbook pro 16 but the one that can actually game. I hope Asus continues this line so we'll keep getting better and better Zephyrus G16.

@monzonsangcap9790 I don't think we're gonna see any 5000 series laptop anytime soon. Probably Q2 the earliest. Unless you already have something aside from that 4080 G16, then I would keep it.
I'd recommend waiting for the Nvidia 5000 series to come out. Even if you don't buy the latest, the last generation goes on sale deeor when the new generation is out.
@@akibalosy3680 yeah check out the Legion vs G16 video on my channel. Of course 140W does come out ahead in some cases still, but sometimes they’re exactly the same, and most of the time it’s just a few fps difference. 115W, or even 105W like in the G16 is basically identical though.

Im hoping for ethier strix halo or a strix point with a 12gb+ vram laptop out of ces, i really like the current zephyrus g16 or msi ai 16 with ryzen ai but im not prepared to spend all that money to then have to turn down settings due to a unnecessary gran bottleneck. I mean my 6700S can hit 1440p on some games at the minute easily and the new laptops will be faster so if anything 1440p 90fps should be doable most of the time so running at 1080p or medium settings just because of the 8GB buffer seems very dumb to me in a £2000+ laptop.
I literally can't decide if I should buy the Lenovo Legion Pro 7 4090 on sale right now for $2399 or wait for the 5000 series. I went a little nuts and tried out all of these laptops. 2023 G16 4070, 2024 G14 4070, 2024 G16 4080 and 4090 modes, Asus Strix G18 4080, HP Transcend 14 4070, Acer Predator Helios 18 4090 mini led, Legion 7i white 4070, Legion Go Handheld...and Finally the Lenovo Legion PRO 7 with 4080 which was my favorite out of all of them. Well now I see the Legion Pro 7 4090 on sale for $2399 and I'm contemplating just getting that and settling down. I have a sneaky feeling that just after I buy this the 2025 model will come out with the 5000 series and OLED and I'll be pissed!
I want a g16 with 64gb ram. Idk if I should just buy the 32gb version or wait to see if they’ll offer a 64gb version or an upgradable ram version this year 😅

i will be waiting no matter what. aside from my savings being withdrawn for other important needs. money always been a thing to consider.. tech worth buying or not is not my only thang... but i had OMEN 16 RTX 3060 before. it died shorter than i thought. got overheated cause of dust though.. i forgot to change my thermal paste back then😢. always expect a give away channel here in indonesia. but almost impossible no chance since we kinda got inflation these days. price of everythings goes up. BUT IF SOMEONE here wanna donate his un used laptop for me. i would appreciate it in DM. not begging but i need a replacement😢

I’m assuming you don’t want oled because you’re worried about burn in. That shouldn’t be something you’re worried about unless you plan to have the screen constantly on at max brightness displaying the same UI elements at all times.
@@dominicgrey it depends on how long you spend producing every day. If you’re constantly on the exact same screen for 10 hours per day with no breaks, and you’re at maximum brightness, then yeah it might burn in. But if you will be switching screens around from time to time and keep the brightness reasonably below max, then you will be fine. Especially if you’re only producing around 4-5 hours per day.
@@ashtonwilliams9654 I brought up some points for people to consider. I always try to go more in-depth than what you’d see from a random comment on Reddit or something. If that didn’t vibe with you then there are plenty of channels out there that make shorter videos. Some of what I do just can’t be said in a 5 minute video when you’re trying to go over a multitude of options like 2022 laptops, 2021 laptops, 2025 leaks, etc.
