lol...the engine was sent to Japan to get built by Mines. The chassis wasnt. But you have to know...that the R&D put into the original Mine's GTR...is just too much for anyone to do on their own
The reving is not exactly the same as the Original Mines R34, this may due to the original Mines sporting a 3.7 final drive and a R32 differential. I don't know the specs on this, but the R32 differential is the reason for its hardcore acceleration.
The original Mines R34 passes street legality in Japan. Same as the Nismo R34 Z-Tune, both with 600hp+! I think the trend now in Japan is to build street legal 500hp cars that even passes emissions! I just love that tuning philosophy!
1) if i had the money for the equipment for the dyno and plug-n-play computers, trust me, i would do it. and not a bad choice, instead of the GTS25t brakes and hubs, ive slapped on Z32 brakes on my S13 (we dont get the Skyline in the US...its rarer than finding a brave Frenchman) 3) i love the S-chassis car. I love it for the versatility it has on the track. Driving one past an RX7 or a Corvette is just sheer pleasure. And again, if the Skyline was available here, trust me, i would buy one =P
They place car tuning into different stages dude. The higher the number the more work thats been done. It totally depends on what car it is as to how many stages you can complete. This car is stage 3 and most RB26 motors in this tune are running around 550-650bhp. I believe the original Mines car was a stage 3 aswell and that produced 591bhp. RB lumps can go all the way to stage 7 aswell as 2JZ Supra's. These beasts are those whacky drag machines with 1200+hp!
The Engine was... the suspension was tuned by some English bloke and even without the whole driving parts of the vid...the front splitter is white and it doesnt have the BBS rims of the Japanese car. The JDM version revs up faster.
i forgot about the Aussies obsession with the Skyline and Rotaries =P you guys put that RB30E in the old school Holden Commodore (??)...but yeah what other tracks you guys have down there besides Bathurst?
this one doesn't seem to rev up as fast as the original. Some of the more powerful one's have a stage two engine but with the same turbo's. The original must have better balance and response. But it's upto each customer on how they should modify the parts. So yer, just thought i'd contribute in the convo.
Im still in college but im doing what i can to make a couple of great cars. but yeah, the RB20DET isnt the smartest move in a 240SX. you couldve gotten the S13 redtop for a whole lot less, the same power and displacement. and from what ive seen, the RB20DET and CA18DET both have the same problems with overheating and whatnot. make sure your water pump is in good condition. what about your radiator? you better've changed it out, its stupid if you havent.
Times are like i said and with cost a Gtst is roughly half the price or less of a GTR. Gtst are only rwd, less of a bodykit, less interior gadgets and not as good seats, and only have either an RB20 or RB25 in them. While def not as good as a GTR they are still good and quick cars.
hey i have a s14 240sx. but ya i like skylines better. im keeping the ka24de and turboing it. minor mods some 350whp later its all about saving up for a monster r34 gtr.
You def no more then i thought. I live in Aus so prices you pay are nothing the same as here. RB20 are cheap as dirt we have thousand of GTST skylines here and even more half cuts brought over by wreckers. And yes i have a A/M radiator better then the standard RB one. Plenty of ppl use the standard RB rad here (which bolts in to S13) with no problems for daily driving though.
This car isn't as quick as the original mines car. The original's rev counter zaps to redline in a flash. The original also corners much flatter than this one. There are certain things that you can't copy just by buying the parts.
Ofcourse you can get a 10 sec GTR if you have the cash. Comparing a gtst to a GTR is just stupid. A GTST does low 14 qtrs standard a GTR does high 12's. Big difference there.
lol..no but if you see the difference between both cars in videos...the Japanese one definitely has better engine response. but i actually tune cars in REAL life...i dunno about you
1) i take care of the tuning for 4 of my friends car at the moment. 2) i am currently building my S13 to clock amazing times in street form, on street tire 3) i am also in the process of buying an S14 to do the same 4) i also drive the local autocrosses and track events. how about you mr. "so full of shit"?
LOL 1) what does tuning 4 of your friends cars mean? You have your own dyno at home and the thousands of dollars in equipment for tuning? 2) What you doing to your S13? 3)why build 2 cars that are basically the same? Thats stupid. I have a S13 with an RB20 in it. Can give you links to Aussie forums with pics if you need proof. Unlike your BS.
Looks like it still has the std 3.54 ratio and not the low ones Mines Demo used. The revs go up slower.
That thing is seriously fast! and it looks beautiful, i wouldnt change a thing on it
lol...the engine was sent to Japan to get built by Mines. The chassis wasnt. But you have to know...that the R&D put into the original Mine's GTR...is just too much for anyone to do on their own
@sodazman The Mines R34 runs a 4.2 final drive @ 650 bhp, whilst this car runs the stock R34 GTR 3.545 FD.

I'm with you on this one.
agreed, the way the car behaves lets u know it wasnt tuned by mines themselves

I think that's because in the corners he didn't dare to drive it as hard as good ol' Tsuchiya-san!
oh yeah...that definitely is not the original. You simply cant copy the work of Mr. Niikura of Mine's
im sorry, but yeah, that is the point i guess. to have something to closely resemble something that has started a revolution such as the Mine's GTR =P
Yes it is V Spec
Lotsa comments from everyone. Everyone's got their own fair share of thoughts. No one is wrong and neither anyone is right.
Couldn't you get power and handling in one package ?? Just add more power
Better move to AUS bro, there everywhere ;)
@sodazman True True the original mines has no competition

Oran park 😢
just because it was built by Mine's doesnt mean it was tuned by them

thanks.

mines > all for response anyway :P
It doesn't even have the blue steering wheel
what does it mean 25 30 turbos??
It has HKS GT2530 Turbos.

Using castrol oil on a Mines GTR should be sacrilegious. no JDM machine should even go near dirty castrol oil. LOL
lol...no you cant. Not the fine tuning of the suspension...
that car doesnt have the response of the JDM Mine's car
yeah...thats more like it...lol
and btw....im on NICO, Sidewaysonline and capital driving club...check me out on there. haha, so generic on the links eh?

No you can't, buddy.
@mauricioalfredo83 Id take it.
dont know who was behind the wheel at the end - but he cant drive for shit !
awesome car though.
