    Gwen mentioning mexican after shes back… reminds me sometimes when im deep into my long runs in the freezing cold… the thought of the nice warm food waiting when im back.. gives me strength to keep pushing 😅😅

    I’m so interested in this sports psychologist. I watch a lot of triathlon and cycling you tube channels and I can’t remember ever seeing one before. I had no idea they come out on workouts with you from time to time in addition to meeting and talking. The workouts are where all the talking needs to be enacted…so cool. I vote for more Jason!

    What I so admire of you is your ability to block others peoples opinion of what you should or shouldn't do. The commitment to your own journey weather is running or tri. Life lesson and motivational, thank you for staying true to yourself on top of everything.

    wow! gosh you are fast. makes me want to be as bold as Gwen.
    "dont get caught up in what might happen", "bring it back to the present moment".
    one spiced up variation is 5 x 1k / 200m with similar recoveries around the 200m sprint. The ks just start feeling comfortable, and the 200s pass too quick.

    I do a very thorough warmup before kilos, too. Not because I want to start off fast, though. Because I'm scared of how the workout is gonna feel! 🤮 Don't know how your training is going but your RUclips is banging.

    I wander how many seconds per km you 'subtract' to account for the surface you are running on. From hearing the sound of your footsteps I get the impression the gravel is quite loose. My opinion is you would be 8" - 10" per rep faster on tarmac, concrete or a track.

    • @GwenJorgensen
      @GwenJorgensen  6 месяцев назад +2

      the actual numbers don't matter too much...all about effort here :)

      @@GwenJorgensen do you use Lactate monitoring in your training ?
      Veronique Billat: French Physiologist was a pioneer in vVO2 MAX training.
      Good luck in your goals 4 this year!
      Interesting when I was running hills repeats with a group and was completely fatigued and couldn't finish the high number of 12 1 minute hills.
      So I gave myself permission to stop : when I did that my body relaxed and I felt better and was able to do a few more!
      That's reverse Psychology: it helped me on a workout that was too much volume for a runner who was a Sprinter in High school and College.

    In the middle of the night, I scrolled by the thumbnail of this video, and then I had the strangest nightmare about you Gwen. Somehow I ended up being an assistant to a physical therapist (not what I do in real life) who was doing a treatment on you at your home. You were initially in a lot of pain and screaming at the top of your lungs, and then felt great after I sang you a song (what?). Then suddenly, everything shifted and I was on some podcast with you and your husband. You both were yelling at me calling me all sorts of names and telling me my favorite football team sucked (lol). I woke up with the biggest WTF look on my face ever! LOL. Now it's later in the day and I'm watching this video with mixed feelings. HAHAHA

      possibly you run slower,....but this is all about effort. The actual time doesn't mean much.
