My favorite scene was when Lefty and "Donny" were standing outside and watching the bosses enter the building. That look on Lefty's face of him trying to look important, but feeling left out was all so pathetic. It really made you feel for the poor guy. He was the best man he could be, but he wasn't boss material. I remember as a kid seeing some of the "big guys" in the neighborhood - they seemed like Royalty to us kids. They never looked at any of us either. I know that feeling of being on the outside looking in. It didn't hurt us kids, but must have really hurt a made guy, knowing he was never going to be a top man.
Al Pacino was great in this movie, I can relate my parents were heavy smokers in the 70s and my brother and I sitting in a buttoned up car with smoke filling the cabin. We would complain that we were dying and choking but my father would yell at us and say the draft would make us sick!
🤭😂 As kids, when we complained about the smoke filled car & asked parents/grown ups to crack a window the response we'd get was, "The AC is on! We cant waste the AC!"
treesab,. Totally agree with you. Cigarette smoke is terrible, I can't take it. I worked in Automotive shops and machine shops a good part of my life. Many different chemicals you had to use. Didn't use to bother me. Now, if I spray paint or use chemicals, I need lots of air or have to leave. Especially after spraying paint. Totally feel your pain. May GOD bless.
It’s crazy how this man gets my attention week in week out. Literally the only guy for who I could spend hours behind my phone screen on RUclips. Very interesting stories! Thank you and take care, Michael!
The only person that holds this movie back is Depp. The dialogue between him and his wife, especially at the beginning (“put the phone on your pillow. I want to hear your breathe”). That part and others were like nails on a chalkboard.
Another great one I saw that film on a family holiday to Cyprus I was on a pullout bed in althe lounge and stayed up late and it came on TV I was about 8 years old.
Bronx Tale was a good fantasy movie.. a la maybe something Chaz Palmentieri saw. But it was fiction. Flirtation with the life. Real life mob guys are predatory scumbags.
Jocko Adams actually it wasn’t fiction. It was a true story based on Chaz Palimentari growing up in the Fordham section of the Bronx, which is where I was born.
Never realized how boring my other channels were until I stumbled across your channel, so glad I did love the videos I've seen so far, great job! God bless and stay safe!
I always get a good laugh at a scene on the boat. Lefty says “I’m so disgusted with you right now. You know that?” Donnie “yeah you just said that” Lefty *legs crossed with a drink in his hand* “just so you know” I laugh every time. Such a childish yet believable exchange
On-screen, the chemistry between Lefty (Pacino) and Donnie (Depp) was off the charts great. I love the follow up to that car scene. Lefty doesn't get whacked, gets upset when he gets a lion as a gift from Sonny Black. Donnie tries to get Lefty to look on the bright side that he didn't get clipped and Lefty denies ever suggesting that he was going to get killed.
To me the best moment was when Lefty tells Donnie he loves him. It was so genuine, and even though he was a mobster, you kinda appreciate him in way. In real life Sonny Black (they switched them in the movie) really loved Donnie Brasco.
Donnie you wanna kill me with that draft? It always made me laugh so hard that he wouldn’t let him put the window down. I’m so happy you chose this scene. Cinematic Gold!
Every Italian man thinks he can cook. But, every Italian man will also tell you his mom or his grandmother is the greatest cook who ever lived. Anybody who grew up in an Italian family, no matter how old they are, remembers their grandmother’s sauce/gravy. How her house smelled all day while she was cooking. Italian men do make good cooks, but nothing like grandma could do.
When I think of the Italian side of my family perhaps the first thing I think of is the food. I can't watch any cooking scene like that without thinking about my family.
That first scene: Lefty’s pride combined with “shame”, that he is not a top guy, got exploited by Donnie to blind him and fool him into letting him in.
He won’t say anything to directly incriminate himself on something that isn’t already common knowledge. Notice when he talks he doesn’t go into specifics.
When Michael Franzese reviews a movie and breaks down scenes he does it so well and to the point it makes you wonder if all the movies critics we've seen and listened to in the last 50 years should have been in another profession //

Another movie with Chaz Palminteri that is not realistic at all but still great is Innocent Blood, directed by John Landis. Sort of a cross between Goodfellas and An American Werewolf in London.
The way he speaks about his past life is very deep and authentic. He shows respect and humbleness to everybody we knew back then and everyone he knows now. He is just an awesome man. Keep up the good work man❤️
I’ve always thought that Al Pacino’s portrayal of Lefty was one of his greatest performances. He was big load his presence was all over the screen. It’s very underrated.

I can smell the smoke in that car from here... probably smelled like an ashtray in there 😂
Or the first scene where Donnie cracked the window and when Lefty complains, Donnie says, " I'm getting fucking cancer in here " lol
Kevin Ahn The draft is public enemy number one in Croatia, it causes all sort of medical problems... if you listen to the old people anyway. I suspect it is or was the same in Italy.

I can’t believe Michael is 69 years old. He don’t look a day over 45, capische?
Grant Sherman he actually looks better now than he did when he was younger. There’s something really cold and menacing looking about the younger pictures of him, which I guess figures since he was a mafioso
My dad is 55 lookin like he’s 35 😂
cool gamer It’s crazzy My Dads 50 also but all the nurses here at the hospital after I got shot use to say “You and you Brother look alike.” I’m like that’s my damn Dad* lol
@@nwcoastlife think exactly the same as you, suppose hes not under the pressure he was when he was younger, hope I look half as good as he does when I'm 69,if I make it that far.
I agree. He wasn't very attractive to me during his younger years. All that gum chewing really made it worse! But now... I find him extremely attractive. Some men are just like that. 👍🕊
I could listen to Michael franzese talk all day long. Stories for days and a stand up gentleman.
Stories of a stand up gentleman... Good title for his next mixtape!
He’s a degenerate and nowadays real gangsters would murder his family in front of him before torturing him to death.
He's in Fear City.
Me 2
Not a stand-up gentleman by his own definition -- he said himself he considers Lefty a standup guy because he refused to break the oath of omerta they both swore, unlike Michael himself.
The scene where Donnie sits next to lefty in the hospital. Leftys son is dying and Lefty begins to cry is very touching!
Imagine the story's mr franzese has which he can't tell people.
Imagine why don't you go see them for yourself look up Norby Walter's & the smoking gun documents?!?!?!
Micheal trying to act like he a born again Christian but then he wants to make money off this acting like he was this crazy ass mob killer guy kept it solid the whole time foh yeah he made money but he was soft & he testified tell him to tell you about those story's my guy

Gta seem to be really over the top, maybe a new series like the mafia game but with the rockstar touch.

A new GTA in liberty city :)

Donnie Brasco is currently on UK netflix, just a heads up
Just recently watched it, loved it, great film
The US version as well.
Shawn Johns in the US too??? Fugghetaboutit!
Seen it first about 10 years ago
hope it arrives in asia too. 😍😊
That scene really stood out to me lol
Exactly that scene just hits you...
I mean he was still a made guy and a man of honor nothing to feel bad for
Yeah same always felt that about Lefty
Who was the boss supposed to be who got out the Lincoln then? Was it rusty, carmine or?
If you don’t hear:
“I created a scheme where I defrauded the government out of tax on every gallon of gas sold”
Is it even a Michael Franzese video?

Al Pacino was great in this movie, I can relate my parents were heavy smokers in the 70s and my brother and I sitting in a buttoned up car with smoke filling the cabin. We would complain that we were dying and choking but my father would yell at us and say the draft would make us sick!
🤭😂 As kids, when we complained about the smoke filled car & asked parents/grown ups to crack a window the response we'd get was, "The AC is on! We cant waste the AC!"
Whats a draft tho

May GOD bless.

true that fam
It’s crazy how this man gets my attention week in week out. Literally the only guy for who I could spend hours behind my phone screen on RUclips. Very interesting stories! Thank you and take care, Michael!
When you have to put Donnie Brasco back on your list to watch, because you didn't realise it was Johnny Depp when you were younger. 😹😹
The only person that holds this movie back is Depp.
The dialogue between him and his wife, especially at the beginning (“put the phone on your pillow. I want to hear your breathe”). That part and others were like nails on a chalkboard.
Do “A Bronx Tale” next week please 🙏🏽
Another great one I saw that film on a family holiday to Cyprus I was on a pullout bed in althe lounge and stayed up late and it came on TV I was about 8 years old.
So many life lessons in Bronx Tale. Great movie!
Great suggestion! Mr. F. Please do a mob movie monday about this one.

You know that?”
Donnie “yeah you just said that”
Lefty *legs crossed with a drink in his hand* “just so you know”
I laugh every time. Such a childish yet believable exchange
"Cowards are always much more dangerous than heroes"💯
Hey Michael i consider you a friend of mine...thank you
On-screen, the chemistry between Lefty (Pacino) and Donnie (Depp) was off the charts great. I love the follow up to that car scene. Lefty doesn't get whacked, gets upset when he gets a lion as a gift from Sonny Black. Donnie tries to get Lefty to look on the bright side that he didn't get clipped and Lefty denies ever suggesting that he was going to get killed.
“...I think I shit my pants.”
To me the best moment was when Lefty tells Donnie he loves him. It was so genuine, and even though he was a mobster, you kinda appreciate him in way.
In real life Sonny Black (they switched them in the movie) really loved Donnie Brasco.
Pacino and Depp really had a good chemistry. Johnny should do more roles like this.
@nowonyuno that was a bad movie, I remember really looking forward to it and feeling really let down.

Donnie Brasco is classic. The cartoon punch noise when Michael Madsen hits the late great Bruno Kirby really grinds my gears though.
Same cartoon punches in the bathroom scene where the Japanese restaurant owner gets his ass beat
They got alot of parking meters in flarida

Italian cooking in the 70s.....forgetaboutit
Donnie you wanna kill me with that draft? It always made me laugh so hard that he wouldn’t let him put the window down. I’m so happy you chose this scene. Cinematic Gold!
When your 50 year old dad has more followers then you in social media lol haha
Al Pacino's mannerisms, movements, speech, in this film remind me EXACTLY of my late Uncle Sam. Great work.
The context makes his choice of words "fortunate" and "unfortunate" quite interesting.
Pacino role as lefty was really good, but can't compare with his role as Michael Corleone. Absolutely flawless!
I think the two roles compliment one another. Going from Michael to Lefty is such a departure.
“Shut up Annette...forgedaabout it”
Kills me every time
I love Lefty so, he was a true old-fashion type stand-up wise guy.
Jo Wei Chen
thats... good. thanks.
When I think of the Italian side of my family perhaps the first thing I think of is the food. I can't watch any cooking scene like that without thinking about my family.
I wish these were longer. The whole movie with audiocommentary by Michael Franzese.
That would be sweet
That first scene: Lefty’s pride combined with “shame”, that he is not a top guy, got exploited by Donnie to blind him and fool him into letting him in.
I'm sure Michael have a lot of stories worth having their own movies.
Today's hollywood would no longer deserve getting its degenerate hands on them, though.
Owing to certain dockets he had better not reveal them, lest he return to jail.
He won’t say anything to directly incriminate himself on something that isn’t already common knowledge. Notice when he talks he doesn’t go into specifics.
"Dunsky"!😂😂
amadeuseisenberg, Totally correct! hollywierd
When Michael Franzese reviews a movie and breaks down scenes he does it so well and to the point it makes you wonder if all the movies critics we've seen and listened to in the last 50 years should have been in another profession //
You have real talent for telling stories. I could listen for hours. It’s awesome you knew all these legendary guys

Another movie with Chaz Palminteri that is not realistic at all but still great is Innocent Blood, directed by John Landis. Sort of a cross between Goodfellas and An American Werewolf in London.

I always admired sonny black for being a stand up guy and going to a meeting he knew he would never walk away from. He died like a soldier
It is said that when they started on him to kill him he said, "you're not doing it right".
@Paulo Eclectik It is possible that it's not true. I think it was Selwyn Raab who said it. But he wasn't there so we don't know for sure.

I’ve always thought that Al Pacino’s portrayal of Lefty was one of his greatest performances. He was big load his presence was all over the screen. It’s very underrated.
