I've been stuck on this song again as I'm a huge Zep fan. I was hesitant to give this a listen because I can imagine it's one of the most challenging songs to cover but gottdamn!!! Very talented musicians here! Unfortunately couldn't pick up the vocalist very well but what drives this song to me are the drummer and the bassist... These folks mastered a great song, the tempo was on, the bassist and the drummer both drove this song as it was meant to be and the guitarist flowed through it in an amazing way.
It's tight, the three musicians all played very well and the vocalist held the pocket. That coulda be a train treck but these four really pulled it off. Great Job.

He's was a 13 yr old kid creating his own style. He wasn't trying to be another Bonham. He's with the band Spiritbox now. Go check them out. A band whose first album made it to #1 for Rock/Hard Rock. Not too shabby.
I was listening to Zep play this, so I have something to compare your performance to. First of all, in this video, she's a good singer, but for the beginning part of the song, you can't hear her. Second, I fail to see this in your version, and also in the live Zep version, that there should be a rhythm guitar playing the Am , F chords on the guitar part. Page and you thought you could get away with this just with the Bass and drums playing rhythm. Page is about good enough to get away with this. You're also good but not as good as him. You need that rhythm guitar playing Am and F on the guitar partto make the lead stand out. On the record version, you could hear he overtracked a rhythm guitar playing the chords. Bonzo playing the drums was like a continuous thunder roll. That's my take.
You do realize that these are only 14-17 year old kids playing who only had about 5 weeks to rehearse? This is also a recording on an iPhone. Trying to compare them to the actual band is pretty lame. Btw the lead guitar is going to Berklee if you care about their playing / performance ability.
I would not usually waste my time replying to a comment like this but I just could not let this go. I play guitar , bass, and drums and take it from me no part of this song is easy to play. These are young people having a go and in my opinion do a great job of a monumental song. No need for any negative comments here just praise on a good version of a great song, it takes guts even to attempt this song. Brilliant job. Drummer is Bonzo in disguise.

Recording was done behind the main loudspeakers where vox are played through. Thats why vox aren't as loud. Guitars could be a little louder too.
