@@1234-b6n BEST...OF THE BEST...and the most difficult to play... I was so hoping Jimmy and the boys were gonna play this at the "O2 Reunion"... BALLS...!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would assume there were people at the show who didn't recognize the song. Not their fault, it's older than them. But after you listen a few times, you gradually come to terms with the fact this song is lightning in a bottle. You just can't play like that as a band anymore. You just can't.
This is not an easy track to cover. My band used to mix this in with our original set. Every musician would look up when we started it so it was worth it. But man did it take forever to get the progression right and the right bass, rhythm and lead mix to make it work in a 1-guitar band.
Yeah!! All that. I played in all 3 pc. bands, except for a couple with horns, I liked it,I lived or died by my own licks, but, although I always loved it, I never imagined how difficult it would be, and I played with a drummer who was whth me from third grade until he passed away at 55. We were more than tight, we played like we shared a brain, and this was still rough.
Damn. This is bloody incredible. Everyone completely nailing their parts, and Jeff Ament is even playing a 12-string bass, giving the same effect as the 8-string bass on the original. Many thanks for uploading.
Cornell needed a rest. I wonder why he stayed on the road 4 years straight singing for 2 bands plus a solo tour? What was going on at home? Is that why he's no longer with us?
McCready is smooth as silk, but no one can come close to Page on this tune. Great reproduction. Cameron giving respect to Bonzo for sure. Cornell, as usual, awesome.
McCready really tore up the guitar solo! He and Gossard played the rhythm parts very well together also. Neither stepping on each other. I wish I could have heard Cameron's kick drum a bit more. Chris seemed a bit subdued. Overall... excellent job!
This is excellent! Kind of makes you wish Zep had employed a 2nd guitarist for live shoes. This captures heaviness and badassness of this song in a way Jimmy could never reproduce live on his own. Minor complaint, but the vocals are buried to low in the mix. Cornell needs to be way more out front with that voice he had.
Would have been great for page and jones to have toured with Chris singer and have guest drummers and additional guest guitar players. Like a tribute to the band. JPJ got his revenge on page with them crooked vultures. Pages and jones played with DG @ wembley then ghosted him
Jimmy didn't need that second guitar. He demoed Achilles for Keith Richards, who asked: "who is going to play the second guitar live?" Jimmy said: "no one, it's just going to be me."
Magnificent. I was expecting some arrogant, delusional douches who should have chosen another one. Far from it - firmly in the elusive ‘Achilles Pocket’. (Bonzo’s bowler) hats off to you for the justified chutzpah..! 🫡
He was on his way out. He looks like a dead man walking. The Chris Cornell that returned to Soundgarden wasn't the same Chris Cornell that left. I was shocked when I heard that he committed suicide but I wasn't particularly surprised.
..he was already sick... pale as hell, lost weight, cold, distant, empty eyes... I sometimes wonder about those guys in those bands, who looks their friends dying without doing nothing...
I mean, I’m not sure exactly how a song considered by many, myself included, as the greatest song from a band many, many consider to be the greatest of all time could be considered “the most underrated song in rock history”, but you do you buddy.
"Hey let's do a Zeppelin cover!"
"Ok, which song?"
"...The best one."
Until you listen to another zeppelin song and say “oh no THIS is the best” and do that for every song
ohshit! Someone else also thinks this is there best song!!!!!! FUCK YEAH bro
absolutely, my most fave song of them !!!!Bonham´s on fire there - each member of course!!!!
This is there best song ezzzz

I wonder if some people in the audience didn't realize the gift they were just given to hear this performed live again!
Yeah I miss Bonzo.
I was there for my birthday. Just now saw this. Fav song, fav vocalist

Big thanks to the person who took a very stable video!
Am I the only person who wants an extended 20-minute-long version of Achilles’ last stand?
No you're not... like an HOUR long!!
I want to live this song
Me too!
I could go for 20 mins this is the zeppelin song I love most
@@Megdracula Check out LZ in Knebworrh '78.
My brain dissolved in a sticky stew of joy an amazement when I found out they covered this...I must weep now.
I was at this concert, the amount of magic in the room when they played this song was bonkers
I was also there. I saw Chris on the Higher Truth tour a year or so earlier and this show. Only 2 times and so thankful I did. It was amazing.
I didn’t know they covered Achilles last stand my fav zeppelin song by another favorite of mine rip
Chris
This is one epic fucking song holy shit 😳
O"my !!! The drummer is holding up very nicely!
Keep led Zeppelin alive guys, we need it, so there music live forever, thank you.
How fucking epic is this fucking song 😮
Mike McCready is an absolute beast.

Takes some balls and spirit to take this on.
They did fucking well.
They pick the hardest song, and they nailed😊
Temple of the Dog...
Achilles Last Stand cover...
Tower Theatre...
The stars will never align in this configuration again.
Whaaaaaaaat? I never saw this ever and I’m on here all the time. Matt Cameron is FIRE. this song is hard.
I definetely don't have words to describe this.

The whole band Obviously but especially Mike M. and Matt!!! Just like Jimmy and John H. Bonham in 1979 at Knebworth.
I've never been a huge Temple, Cornell, Soundgarden, etc., fan but this faithful rendition has changed my mind.
They also did a kick ass rendition of War Pigs that night as well
i would fucking lose my mind if i was there! they brought back the spirit of led zeppelin in full that night!!!
Nailed it! Wish I could have seen them...
I was there & just stumbled on this amazing footage. Awwww.
Thanks for sharing!
First time hearing TotD performing this Zepplin classic!
Chris' vocals are perfect for it!
Awesome powerhouse drumming.
Wow! These guys have some pretty good songs but didn't expect this level of talent. Great cover. One of the best Zeppelin tunes out there. I'm amazed
Really good, the drummer and lead guitar nice sync , quick agile like Page and Bonham!!!
two (and a half) of my very favorite bands
I love all of this.. RIP CC 🖤🤘🤘
I love this one. Such a great song for them to cover.
Mike M. is a genius
One if the best covers I've heard ❤
Superb. Just superb.
Este cover me acaba de petar la cabeza, la verdad. Suena super, super, super bien.
As it always is with this song.. the drummer. Matt Cameron rocks.
One of the best cover i have ever heard....!
Phenomenal!

My favorite Zeppelin song ever
This had to be one of their favorite covers they ever did.
ABSOLUTELY BLEW MY MIND! BEEN WAITING A LONG TIME FOR THIS!
Man. This is amazing.😮 Love this song.
All the contrary melodies and rhythms from 4:20 onward show how great Zep were.
Fantastic cover of one of my all time favorites!!!
This song is just too fucking epic 😮
Awesome! Thank you for sharing!
miss u Chris
Thanks for recordings this
Que locura, una belleza
Man, that was something,
I wish there was soundboard audio of this somewhere

No. He he was busy making a film too. Look it up.
He did not off himself.
I thought this was a cover band and I'm like "holy shit these guys are fucking amazi- oh wait that's Chris Cornell these dudes are pros"
RIP Chris Cornell!
HELL YES!!!!!!

Cornell and Cameron 😍
Amazing version of one of my favorite Zeppelin songs. Jimmy Page would be impressed.
Mr. Matt Cameron the GOAT driving that beast along with power, groove and dynamic consistency. He's the natural successor to Bonham imo.

was he sick?
Sorry but Plant is the best. Even done by one of the greatest voices ever Chris. Just an opinion. This is solid.
He was an epic frontman .. the stars aligned when that group formed ....we will NEVER see another band that epic 😢
Fair
the most underrated song in rock history ... good thing these dudes didnt fuck it up... they played it to a T!!

Have any of you heard the Lez Zeppelin version (yes "Lez") ... very good, slightly different vibe.
Easy acoustic guitar rhythm yea
Are his vocals shot?
It's great, but Chris looks kinda messed up.
You would need two guitars at least.
Its pearl jam
This song is protometal
Really cool, but sound guy? Come on dude. Sleep at the wheele
Too many guitars!!!!

yes, Greta Van Fleet IS a ripoff!
Yup, GVF is the most original and a culmination of the zenith of talent in rock music. (... that's sarcasm kids, in the spirit of the OP post)
