I'm an old guy (69 years) and retired, so an EUC is just for fun. I bought a V8F about 7 weeks ago, have 161 km (100 miles) on it now. I'm mostly riding on a nearby paved bike trail with a lot of curves, inclines, and declines, which is more fun than just a long straight. I left the max speed at 25 kph since I'm just wearing full face bicycle helmet, wrist guards, and knee guards. I would gear up if I was riding at a location where I could comfortably go 30 to almost 35 kph (V8F max speed). I also ride a 2001 Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle, mostly freeway (110 kph), so speed on the EUC is less of an interest for me, but I"m spending much more time on the EUC than the motorcycle, since the EUC is new to me, and I've been riding motorcycles since I was 14 (1966). Your beginner video with Adam was one of the how to ride EUC videos that convinced me I'd be able to learn how to ride an EUC.
You got ten years on me. I haven't ridden my motorcycle in over a year now, I just have no interest in it since the EUC is much better for my purposes which is commuting and work. And by work I mean I literally use my wheel for work. :D
Well done with your channel Kate, you are an ambassador for EUC transport, and with the likes of Danielle (Creative Nomad) you have the potential to influence policy makers in those countries (like the UK) who are as yet hesitant in legalising this future form of intelligent transport; there are no downsides other than negative interactions with other less considerate or less careful road users, irrespective of their choice of vehicle.
Main reason i am commited of getting my EUC is because even public transport isnt perfect. Sometimes i need to run to catch it and at weekends i could well as wait 20-30 minutes until another ones arrives and the work location i need to to go might be only half a mile away (still counts as pretty long walk on foot) and a EUC would close the gap and solve all those annoying travel issues. Also in my free time i can get more freedom, travel around town or ride in the nature which i used to do with my bike, but this time without excausting and sweat.
Nice video! I would add two more reasons: versatility in multi-modality and the ability to ride slow (like really really slowly). The first because you can easily combine the euc with any other mode of transport (not just public). For instance, I carried my V5F in a backpack on my motorcycle just to have fun in a park 50km away from home. The other reason: riding really slow lets you blend in with pedestrians in crowded city center. You don’t need to scare people off your path like bicycles usually do. It’s a great tool for a more peaceful life in the city.
Great points!! All very true and accurate One of my favorite reasons for EUC’s is because it’s the most like a extension to your mind and body and every time you move you don’t just push on a button to go faster or break, you get the whole body into it and that makes the ride so much more interesting/ fascinating/ healthy/ and mind bending I’m sorry but I think EUC’s are the absolute best and will become very popular and I hope so because then competition will grow and amazing new wheels will keep releasing Who’s stoked for the S20 Eagle!!! Hawhhhhhhh “Eagle noise” lol
totally agree, first vehicle that follows your intent without button, handle bar. etc. I settled for EUC this year after some considerations for escooter , ebike . i m glad i bought euc
@@piethib3440 glad to hear , the massive tires come in handy so much when riding over rough terrain, even the one wheel tire isn’t big it’s just fat and the tail and nose hit hills and drops when riding so I think the EUC is the best of the best in all areas, size/performance, price/performance, speed/torque/motor, and safety , only thing is the safety of the wheel when you crash at high speeds but throwing baby guard wrap or some type of thick substance definitely has helped my wheel but I’ve only crashed once and it wasn’t bad, have crashed 10+ times so the warnings come in handy so much Keep riding and enjoying the fresh air!
To answer your question Kate, I use my EUC to buy (not too heavy) things, to explore every tiny part of the area I live in, go hiking with friends or a local EUC group. When I worked in the city-center of Rennes (France) I used it to drive to work. I parked the car in the outskirts and made the last ~6km on my wheel. This was the fastest solution compared to public transport and cars.

So I'd say a motorbike is 75% way there on the scale from 0% (car) and 100% (EUC) in those aspects, while also being able to go longer distances and faster.

I wanted a sherman but was steered away because of their quality control with the poor quality control of the rim cracking on the v2. Have you had that issue?
I've had a v2 sherman for over a year and have about 2500 miles on the odometer. I've hit curbs, potholes, crashed at 30mph(my fault for going so fast on a crappy street) and it keeps working no bent rim, no issues. The sherman is a tank. I weigh 160 lbs btw
Yes and not about parking my EUC, I live in Canada Montreal 🇨🇦 , and we have bike location, you can grab a bike and put away after your trip.
For example, you want to do shopping 🛍, like, buy a short 🩳, it’s hard to have the EUC with you in the shopping. Or an other example, when you go in a pub, it’s not easy to put your EUC in the pub
Nice video! You mentioned having an injury. Was it an EUC related injury? I'm curious because I am recovering from a broken wrist
Thank you!
I got the injury back when I was doing martial arts and I had an accident during training.
So far I had no injuries from riding euc except some small scratches.
I’m sorry to hear about your broken wrist, I hope you’ll recover soon :)
@@monocat.1011 Thank you keep up the great work and talk to you later
Battery howlong can use and at the way always bring spare battery?
Trolly handle 😄
Any thoughts on the new wheels coming out? 🦅🦸🔩🪖
Adam did it.
I can't wait to get my wife riding one. My v11 is in repair and I've got a deposite on the s20 for myself. It is the worst thing ever to go without a wheel. My ebike and escooter are just not the same. 😞
Maybe it would be worth getting something small in the meantime like an mten3 or mcm5?
@@againsthegrainx7556 I did exactly that and got a v8f. And also got my v11 back!
Yep once you go euc ebikes and scooters are meh. I have to say my veteran sherman is even more fun (and safe) that my sportbike.
@@Gideon-300 I agree that it’s way more fun but in what way is it safer? I felt that having two wheels and something to hold onto felt safer to me (speaking of e scooter)
Hey Kate, great movies. However, the framerate lacks smoothness. There are four skipped frames per second. A little annoying :(
Thanks for letting me know, I’ll look into that problem :) I’m new to all the video editing, so this feedback is very helpful for me
Tyle betonu w całym mieście , nie widziałeś tego jeszcze :D
I'm a new rider, so right now it feels like I mostly ride to hurt and humiliate myself. :)
Eh the only exercise I do on an euc is getting it up 3 flights of stairs 😅
On EUC all good until an engin cut off which is deadly ! So, until that is sorted, I dont consider its the best way.
Can you make a learning video for first time users
Ever have a Dream you're driving a Cardboard Box ??
Seated EUC is kinda like those dreams. In a good way.
Make your EUC look like a cardboard box and watch people stare in amazement 😂
i ride the wheel for 3 years now. will never go back to any other transport option, unless half meter snow falls.
How do you secure it if you can't take it into a business?
Cancel the business.
OMG. A girl can so easily handle Sherman. Seems I must cast aside doubts about S20's weight :)
////А на варшавській мові відео буде ? Бо я на інглішові мало розумію
Excuse me for this personal question, are you Polish or do you speak English as a native?
Mieepmieeep! 🐈⬛
where are you?
Hmmm, I don't need a helmet and gear and also no electric power to ride through the whole city with my Pinion bike.
its dangerous to ride it, its a foot controlled mono wheel nothing around it that will spare you from a sudden impact unlike Escooter it a steering handle can protect you from an impact
Only if I knew how to ride one of these, ill use it to haul my kids in a trailer
Not everyone can ride euc, some can't even afford it.
Common transport doesn't require helmet and full suit and carring wheel around
For a smaller euc you can do without the full gear if you go no faster than 20km/h and have some experience on the handling. ;)
great video - what model do you ride that you can just pick it up - my is so heavy
