  • Hey there!
    To me, side pads are quite essential to have on any euc that I ride, but the amount of options out there can be quite overwhelming. I hope this video will help you, to get a bit of a understanding, of what to kee in mind when buying or making side pads!
    If you already have some, I’m very curious to find out which ones you have and why you choose them!
    For the my current favourite, the grizzla pads, you can get 5% off on grizzla side pads use my code „5purrcent“ as well!

    I’m currently working at Eevee’s. So if you are from Canada or the US, and in need of a EUC, check them out!

    Also, thanks for the quick backstory at the start! Lovely to see that the EUC companies are stepping up their own Sidepad quality after seeing how their customers care for it! Even if it's still a bit of a climb till the quality is on par^^

    those so-called russian pads (also known as "Alexa ao" pads, since she came up with them) double as small bags to hold small stuff in and are designed so that a user could change the pad thickness and softness with different inserts. Very expensive.

    Kuji pads deserve IMHO a separate category, because they are not only a cushion to increase comfort but significantly improve control and safety _without impeding leg mobility_ which makes them unique. They can be made considerably smaller than Kujis original design (as the lower leg right above the ankle doesn't move that much anyway). I can hardly imagine to live without them anymore.

    My setup:
    Current - RS with Clark Pads (one piece) and Clark Pedals and Clark bumpers. I have a V12HT on the way and for that also on the way are NyloNove Pedals and Grizzla Flow Compact Pads. I have on order a Sherman-S and on the way for that are Grizzla Flow Large pads, I'll likely order NyloNove pedals for the Sherman-S once they become available.

    Cool video. I have a V11 and what I use as a side pad is definitely not the norm. I saw someone online take a seat cushion, for people that sits for long periods, and put it through the handle of the V11 so it hangs on both sides. It looked good to me so I bought the same thing. I put it on my EUC and it has been working well for me. It was weird at first because it does make the EUC a lot thicker but I like how soft it is and I don't have glue anything to my EUC.

    Very comprehensive and informative as always! This video is very timely as there are so many more pads on the market since I bought my Clark pads a couple of years ago. I am currently torn between the Kinetic pads and the Grizzla pads. I like to position my pads low and am not sure that I would be able to close my pedals with Grizzla pads. This is important to me because I often push my wheel through crowded places. For this reason, I am thinking that Kinetic pads with NyloNove pedals might be a better option for me.

    I have self-made ghetto pads (patent in pending lmao), but the main problem is that they are seperate pieces and they don't have a large area at the bottom so they aren't super robust.
    Main issue with pretty much all pads: Too bloody expensive for what you get. It's just slightly molded yoga block yet costs 80€+?!!?!?!

      What I normally do is, I don't buy the regular velcro, cause that won't have much of a grip. Instead, buy an industrial made velcro which has a higher grip, the "teeth" on these velcro are slightly bigger than your normal ones.

    • @monocat.1011
      @monocat.1011  Год назад +1

      Definitely industrial made Velcro is a good choice!
      The Velcro that the grizzla pads come with stick very well so I never had a problem with that.
      But the V12 inMotion power pads fall off all the time, so adding something like super glue or trying the roughen up the surface of the pads can also help :)

I tried to put has much weight has i can on the front of it, it helps a lot but i cant make to the top..
    Would a power pad help in this case or its the limit of the wheel?I dont hear any beeps. Thanks in advance

    • @grb1969
      @grb1969 Год назад

      Try medium or soft mode, this gives more ability to lean into the hills when climbing. Power pads can sometimes be too much torque on the smaller wheels but the v10f is surprisingly powerful for its size. I ride a 16x without pads specifically because I don't want to over torque it and cut out... but I'm 300 pounds so that's not your issue. Pads are great but not necessary for riding under 20-25 mph. Good luck.

    I've got 4400 miles on my V11 and have never had sidepads. I've ridden a few that have them for a few minutes and it feels really dangerous and awkward to me. If you ever get in some sort of wreck and you can't get your feet out you are seriously going to injure yourself. I've seen a guy break his wrist because of this and he wasn't even going 5-7 MPH. He had to have surgery to repair it.

    • @monocat.1011
      @monocat.1011  Год назад +2

      That’s definitely a good warning, to not have the side pads too tight, otherwise you might get stuck in them in an accident, thanks for bringing this up!
      So far for me, my sidepads helped me to prevent a lot of injuries, since they held me in place when I hit some unexpected potholes. :)

    • @joeldriver3971
      @joeldriver3971 Год назад

      @@monocat.1011 That's interesting because in 4400 miles I've never had a crash. I think any advantage you might get isn't worth getting stuck with your feet to the sides if you ever fall.
