    Living with a wheel became something natural for me too. Been riding for 1.5 years now, doing errands, commute, long and short trips. Got 4 wheels with their own characteristics. I used my car 5 times last year. Today I do not have one. When Im in need for a car, I just rent one any size I like. Saves tons of bucks. Travel with an EUC (except flight) is something I learned early. Maybe you should bring that subject up aswell? Subbed. Thanks for sharing :)

      @@wheellifejon that’s exactly what us newbies need, a how to be a good rider tutorial. There is plenty of content of Chooch going flat out down hills or through rough terrain, but what is there about how to be a good rider. What should we practice, what are the bad habits to avoid/be aware of, what exercise is best to help build the muscles to gain more control. I think the best advice I have heard yet is from Law Laxina, who said, don’t bother with speed, learn Techniques as many as possible, get good at controlling the wheel, eg. riding on the white lines of a basketball court etc.

    • @RichardFooter
      @RichardFooter 3 года назад +2

      This is incorrect - wear a helmet, the cababilities of EUC's will only get more powerful, our primary environment should be on the road. That you choose to ride at a speed you deem safe doesn't mean your skull is any safer from other road users. And by far the most important point is positive perception - cavilier attitudes will only delay uptake. I want EUC's to be accepted!

    • @monowheeling
      @monowheeling 3 года назад +5

      @@RichardFooter Bicycle usage in Holland is an amazing success story and one reason for this success is that nobody even considers for a millisecond to wear a helmet when making a bicycle commute. Plus, they have the lowest fatality rates in the world, AFAIK.
      I use my EUC like the good people in Holland use their bicycles. Mileages differ, and I am sorry if this doesn't work for you.
      Where I live, I am pretty sure that riding with full face helmets is pretty bad for the general acceptance. It signals that riding EUCs is possibly as dangerous as motorcycling.

    I really enjoy my EUC and I would like to see a larger adoption of EUCs with government rules that were favorable so that I didn't have to feel like I could be given a ticket at any moment. However, having said that, I don't see EUC being truly mainstream. Telling someone to use an EUC is like telling someone to ride a bicycle that has never ridden one before. The learning curve will be more than too many people will be willing to invest.

    • @wheellifejon

      How is it more capable? Can you take your motorcycle with you on the train? Can you take it into a store? Can you ride your motorcycle on bicycle paths? Can you carry your motorcycle over obstacles? Can you ride in the city, outside of the stupid roads that takes up half the space? No you can't, and for that price you will have to get a gas bike, which will limit it even further (not to mention the pollution), unless range is all you care about. You must also have a licence, and additional extra costs like insurance.
      There are also wheels that are under 3K.

    • @naps3386
      @naps3386 2 года назад +1

      There have been zero times I wished I could carry my motorcycle on a train, take it into a store, or lift it over an obstacle. As far as riding in a city, what is limiting about riding on city streets? If/when electric unicycles, bicycles, scooters hit a critical mass, cities will ban them from sidewalks and possibly bike paths too. You simply cannot have devices that have the ability to move so much faster than pedestrians (and even bicycles) using sidewalks and mixed use paths. Small electric modes of transportation are in their infancy and people don’t encounter them a lot (yet). But you can bet the first time a unicycle hits a pedestrian, the pedestrian will sue the city and the rider for bodily injury, pain, and suffering and cities will ban electric unicycles from sidewalks and paths, require insurance, require signals and lights and all the other safety devices fast moving vehicles require. It’s the wild west right now for many electric devices but many cities have already banned electric scooters on sidewalks. Now put those same electric vehicles on roads with cars and trucks, you’re going to have major problems. I’m not saying electric vehicles are bad in themselves, but they are so few in numbers that the problems mixing with pedestrian and street traffic are not on anyone’s radar (yet). I guarantee you if/when they become more prevalent, they will be banned from pedestrian areas, and road use will require much more than a helmet and some little light 1 foot off the ground. Enjoy the use of your unicycle now, they’re great for “last mile” for many of the reasons you gave, but there are always the few that ruin everything for the many by being irresponsible. That day is still to come .

      That's what happens in backwards USA, not in the rest of the world. And how long can the cars take up half the cities and kill thousands of pedestrians?
      _"It’s the wild west right now for many electric devices but many cities have already banned electric scooters on sidewalks."_
      Scooters yes, EUC's aren't scooters. And no evidence backs up the bans, like always.
      _". Now put those same electric vehicles on roads with cars and trucks, you’re going to have major problems."_
      Lke what problems? More issues than dummies on motorcycles flying through traffic?
      _"are not on anyone’s radar (yet)"_
      Ah, you wish it became true. You're salivating thinking about having something you do not understand banned.

      @@YeeLeeHaw Dude...calm down ya green nutjob. I FREAKING OWN A KINGSONG 10S. You have got a real nutty mind dude. You bloviate, exaggerate, and don't stick to facts. You hit someone doing 20mph on a bike path and tell me how much you saved the earth after they are awarded a few hundred thousand grand $$$, the cities get sued and pay out because they allowed much faster moving VEHICLES on pedestrian walks and paths and ban them. Mark my words, they will be banned from sidewalks and paths because it is UNSAFE to have much higher speed VEHICLES with PEDESTRIANS. Cry green all you want, we're not throwing out safety and laws and rules for a small minority of EUC riders or electric bicycle riders, or electric scooters. USA is still THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE PLANET, now F000K the H3LL OFF ya dork greeny! Lol
