Around 12 years ago back when you could send messages to channels on RUclips i sent a message to Chris on his OrangeMan (i think that was the name) channel. I ended up having a few back and forth messages with him talking about his Isotonik stuff, he told me that he did not have any of his old Isotonik stuff anymore since moving to LA...i can see in the background that he has since sourced some of it. He was a really nice guy and took time out of his day to chat with a fan. Top bloke and another top interview

Great interview. Massive respect to Chris Paul he ran Orange like clockwork. It's not just about how many people a night housed but the quality of the night, venue, lineup and value for money. Chris and his team did that. London back then was such a magical place to rave. It was also affordable and accessible.
I raved to DnB in the 90s, and till today the best soundsystem I have ever heard in my life, was at the 'Hippodrome' in Liecester Square. When you combine that with the finest DJs around, 'Orange' was absolute DYNAMITE🔥🔥🔥. Most memorably 'Orange' Part 21 'Jungle In The City', same day as 'Voodoo Magic, at 'Equinox'. Orange Part 21 was amazing, I left Hippodrome with my ears ringing..........................❤️
"We created the scene". Facts! The scene wasn't started by Shoom, Rage, Fabio, Grooverider or any individual DJ / Rave! There were loads of DJ's playing House, Garage, Techno from 85 and they all helped create the scene that exploded in 88/89
I was there Every Friday at Camden Palace and for Sure Chris Paul was a true innovator of Original Acid and House Music. Loved it. Number One DJ in my opinion....
Orange at the Hippodrome were quite simply some of the best raves ever thrown anywhere on this planet.... Production was on point, music and atmosphere second to none. MCMC & Stevie Hyper D in their prime
Amazing stories. I remember the last Orange at Camden and my friend telling me it would be the last Orange. I didn’t believe him until a few weeks later. Thanks for all the good times and keeping our spirits up during lockdown.
Really enjoyed that interview. Can you get the inersense lazerdrome promoters on the next ?? That was by far the best weekly event from 93 to 95. Had some mad nites there
Another cool interview, really enojyed it. if i could make a suggestion; it'd be nice to hear from a few of the 90s producers that were more in the background. people like DNA, Trixxy, Ham etc. While i like the whole origin story of the djs and promoters, i think the producer geeks among us would love to hear some of the details/ stories behind the studios and the way the music was made back then? the idea of having DNA telling us about what he was doing in the studio in 97-98 would be great to hear (for me, at least). Great show yet agin, anyway.
Thanks for the suggestion, and hear what you’re saying, but we are more about human interest stories than technical details about producing - or even particularly about specific tunes - to be honest.
@@ROARUKPods Short vids about top tunes with a 'how it happened' theme would be killer filler for the channel mate. Doesnt have to be technical. Imagine Jonny L giving a quick 5 mins on how Hurt You So came to be. Krome & Time - Sounds For The Underground. Bodysnatch - Just For You London... (all of these guys are active on socials now and would be happy to talk) So many HUGE tunes that all of us fans would LOVE to hear about... The list of prolific producers is endless. Not to mention the one hit wonders who would LOVE to talk about their 5 minutes of fame. It would be a great way to grow the channel and create some diverse content.
Please convince Ratty, or Swanee, Top Buzz or Easygroove, and Seduction. These djs absolutely ripped the scene in the early 90's. These guys need a lot of respect.
Orange @ Hippodrome were some of the best nights of my life back in the day. Such a wicked venue. No other raves were held in a top club like that. They even had a toilet attendant (little African bloke) handing out paper towels and offering a spray of aftershave. The poor fücker never knew what hit him after the first couple of hours. Sweaty kids chatting shit and spewing up their pills all over the bathroom floor. His mop and bucket never had such a good workout. haha.
Hippodrome had the absolute best soundsytem going. Don't forget about 'Voodoo Magic' held at 'Equinox' directly opposite 'Hippodrome', both plush Westend venues, with amazing sound systems, both promotions going directly head to head on bank holidays. For me 'Hippodrome', just pipped sonic excellence over 'Equinox', and when you add two large visual graphic equilisers, at either side of the stage, it was the absolute bolloxs..............
