    I watch a lot of guitarists. You always are so musical and pleasing. Effortless with beautiful lines and chords. Truly one of my favorite guitar players.

    Hey Camilo, thanks for the good work! Not sure if you will read this. Could I check if there is any changes I would need to do to my axefx preset layout is not program for output to monitor speakers if I am to move to real power amp and cab, other than switching of poweramp and cabinet simulation? Many thanks!

    Hi Camilo.. Thank you for this video. So in the end.. do you find that the ATR-4502 adds some of that warm tube mojo? Just wondering if it is worth the extra $$. Thanks man!

      Sometimes it's hard to tell from a video. Just wanted to hear your opinion on what you heard "live".

    • @CamiloVelandia

      Hey brother. It certainly adds some “squishiness” to it. I think the real magic of this setup is being able to use and interact with your real cab. Feedback and things like that are more accessible

    Hi Camilo! Do you think its loud enough to practice with loud metal band? 70W with 16 Ohms

  • @makemoneyrelax
    @makemoneyrelax 3 года назад

    How loud is the sound? More than Marshall 100 watt head?

  • @HamsterSpanks

    Hey Camilo! For the Axe, which do you prefer. This type of set up or FRFR?? Thank you bro, sounds badass!!

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  5 лет назад +3

      This power amp setup works well when you have cabs that you really like the sound of. Also, if you go to a rehearsal studio or a gig, you can just go from the power amp into the speaker of the backline amp. FRFR is convenient for interaction with speakers... feedback, sustain, etc.... I personally just go direct. The less I have to carry to a gig or on a plane, the better for me. With the exception of the sustain/feedback/speaker interaction, I don't find a difference in the tone that really influences my decision to change my setup.

    Hi there, I have one question for you about this amp. It's only 90watts, can it hold it's own against say a 300 watt Rocktron Velocity or a 100watts all tube head? I am going to try one however I'm sceptical that it will be loud enough for me and my band.I have to say it sounds great with your AXEFX, really good.

    • @Dream-Academy
      @Dream-Academy 6 лет назад

      Rabid of course it will.... a 50 watt Marshall is nearly as loud as a 100 watt Marshall. The biggest difference will be the number and efficiency of the speakers you use.

    • @RabidGerry

      I got one and so far so good. Do the fans only come on when the unit heats up? So far it sounds very good. I haven't played it yet with my band, but I think the volume is there, I can tell on 50% it's very loud. It's all my drummers fault though!

      I love my Koch power amp! It's sounds it's best with a 12" or 2x12. Does not sound that great with 4x12s

    Is the axe fx III powered unit? I though it needs a powered option be it powered monitors, pA or a power amp that you are using.

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  4 года назад

      The unit works direct out of the XLR outputs. Some people like to use their own cab, in which case, you need a power amp. I don't use it like this very often. I usually go direct. Just out of convenience

      Camilo, do you prefer the sound with the power amp and real speaker cab? I just got a used Axe 2 Mi 2 and I am trying to get a good sound out of it. I am completely lost on this thing. Lol I have experience with the HX stomp and Powered Kemper though. It took me a little while with the HX stomp to get a good sound but now it is great. I found that ownhammer IRs and the 12” Headrush powered cab sound great with the stomp. The Axe sounds okay but not great through that speaker. The Kemper sounds terrible through that speaker. What do you prefer for a great sounding frfr with the Axe?

    So, if power amp modeling is off, why does it say JCM 800 on the first part of the video. What am I missing here?

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  6 лет назад

      Basically Im using the preamp of the JCM800... tone stack, drive, etc... no power tube section.

    • @DDischner
      @DDischner 6 лет назад

      OK, I guess I need to get more familiar with the Axe FX 3...! Thanks.

    • @CamiloVelandia
      @CamiloVelandia  6 лет назад +1

      Yeah! Basically fractal models preamp and power amp. You can bypass power amp and keep the preamp section. Most people love preamp distortion of many famous amps, so thats why that would make sense. If you check the tabs in the amp block you can see what the preamp and power amp settings are.

  • @justinTime077
    @justinTime077 2 года назад +1

    Bypassing power amp modeling in a modeler is a fools errand IMO. Even when you’re using a power amp.
