Can I find a studio apartment for $250 in the surrounding suburbs of Monterrey? I love to hike and be around nature! Does Puebla, Mexico have good hiking nearby?.

250$ per month could definitely find you a room on AIRBNB. If it's longterm searching on FB you can find decent deals on studios, yea. maybe 300-400usd. Short term studios are more expensive in MTY. However, puebla is much cheaper. I haven't done much hiking in Puebla however I know you can try to summit the highest peak in Mexico there - Pico de Orizaba.

San Pedro is the wealthiest municipality in latin america, therefore the high prices. I hope you enjoy. I´m from Escobedo, N.L.

250k Holy cow. Prices Definitely keep going through the roof in MTY. I understand it's the "expensive" part of town. But wow.

Mty has some of Mexico's top Elite and this high value demand drives prices up for sure - at least in san pedro

@@livingabroadwitheric you came to the real expensive areas, San Pedro Garza García is the most expensive municipality in all Latin America, Cumbres is also expensive, maybe nextime you can visit the most "normal" areas, you still can find nice houses with all the accommodations, there are areas in Guadalupe, San Nicolás, Apodaca, Santa Catarina, Escobedo and Monterrey that are cheap for expats and safe.
And the city will have big renovations, like two new Metro lines, an inter-urban train, there is a project of a train to connect Monterrey with San Antonio Texas, and the next Soccer worlds cup will be in México, USA and Canada, some plays will be in Monterrey and the government announced big infrastructure investment and changes in all the metropolitan area.
I think is a good option for expats who want a more affordable life but without losing the big city vibe.

@@TheDarkSideOfYouSoul i agree mty is massive and has many great places to live in. San pedro was simply the most famous and "luxury expat area" that i believe my audience wanted to see. Thanks for the train/fifa information! I didnt know that
