Hi everyone! Just wanted to correct a mistake that was made in the video! A few years ago, the ‘TOP Torre 1’ skyscraper was completed in Monterrey and is currently the tallest skyscraper in Latin America (305m). However, it’s soon to be the second tallest because another skyscraper in Monterrey is under construction called ‘Torre Rise’ and the height is planned to be 456 meters! The skyscraper we showed in the video is currently the second tallest in Mexico, soon to be the third. One thing for certain is that if you like skyscrapers, Monterrey is the place for you! Make sure to check out our first Monterrey video if you haven’t already! Saludos amigos 😊

Nice to hear from travelers who appreciate Monterrey as much as we do. Could easily live there! Good luck with the house and early retirement, you’ve got an awesome spot for it. Cheers!
Don't forget to go every Sunday at San Pedro to the Sunday mornings walk. Street name is Calzada San Pedro. They close the street and people go walking or bike ride. You can also have yoga classes and dance classes. Enjoy. Every Sunday from 8:00am until 1:00pm aprox.
You're right about rock music being important there. I am traveling to Monterrey from the US in a couple of days to see The Warning in concert at the Showcenter Complex in San Pedro Garza Garcia.
Nice! I remember you saying on our last Monterrey video that you wanted to see them in concert in Monterrey! We didn't know about them until that comment, and have been listening to them ever since! :) Great band! Enjoy the show!
He visto muchos videos de Monterrey, y este es el mejor para promocionar la ciudad. Muchas felicidades amigos. Pd. You visited places that even I, being from here, do not visit and that are very popular with foreigners from other parts of Mexico who live here, like the area around market! A place that will grow and is still at a good price I acquired a property is Santiago Nuevo Leon which is a magical town and many real estate agents mention it will be the new San Pedro but keeping its picturesque touch so it is sought after. The new buildings under construction in areas such as Sta Lucia and Barrio antiguo are still in pre-sale at prices still relatively affordable. These areas are part of the rescue of the downtown. Sta Lucia for families and Barrio Antigüo will have its hipster touch. In 10 years it will undergo a dramatic change

A great video. What an impressive city and having so much nature nearby is unique. I have seen tons of videos on Mexico and what I noticied about this one, from the very beginning, is that you give the prices of different things, especially the bus fares. That is very important. We can see how inexpensive some things in Mexico are and how you really don't need a car to go to a lot of the interesting places. Good job. You probably already know this, but ganza in Portugal is cannabis. And it is more of less legal as long as you have a small amount and are not a grower or dealer. Wow, a large pizza for between 3.85 USD and 5.00 USD. Even in relatively inexpensive Portugal, where I live, it would be hard to find a large pizza for less than 10.00 USD, unless you buy it frozen at the supermarket. God, public transportation is so cheap even in a city with a relatively high quality of life and with the highest salaries in Mexico. In Porto, Portugal the lowest fare is 1.60 EUR and even with that they need government subsidies. How can a metro system even break even with fares of 0.21USD? They probably don't.
Thanks for the great feedback. It’s good to hear that others benefit from the prices being listed. As budget travelers, we are always wondering about prices in an area so we include that. We briefly visited Portugal and loved it, would love to come back. Yeah, and what’s really something is that many consider Monterrey too expensive, especially compared to other parts of Mexico. I found it affordable, like you said especially considering the great local economy and quality of life. Very impressive. The pizza was a surprise for me too. They have a lot of non-franchise pizza joints that are really delicious and average under $5. Crazy!
I like that in mexico they charge a fee to head to restroom. Someone in charge maintenance and keeping the toilets in decent condition it helps from people destroying these bathrooms.
Thanks for the great video. Monterrey is a lot enjoyable from the suburbs, a lot of people like me prefer not to go downtown, there are many good restaurants and places to drive or to go around the city.
What a blast! I hope to go down there sometime soon. My parents are looking for a second home to retire at Palm Springs, but this seems like a superior option
Great video guys! As a native of Monterrey, really love to see that you guys went out of your way and explored some surrounding areas to get a better feeling of Sultana del Norte. Other nearby places recommended to check out are Matacanes (great water canyon), Grutas de Garcia (amazing cave formations), Boca de Potrerillos (archeological site with indigenous petroglyphic) and Arteaga (another Pueblo Magico). I currently live outside Monterrey, but seeing this video got me nostalgic :).
Just wanted to complete what they mentioned about cabrito, it´s actually an acquired taste. Many people love to eat it from an early age, that was not my experience, I started to enjoy it until I was 18.
Good timing we're about to board the night bus to Monterrey! Also we only wear jeans and normal clothes in Mexico, walking around in shorts and flip flops makes you a target for crime and everyone also would rip you off hahha
@@ellvis6897 Chipinque it’s a short drive from downtown up the Sierra Madre, lots of hiking trails and awesome views, Cola de caballo in Santiago (shown in this video), Grutas de García (caverns about 20 miles west of Monterrey), La Huasteca, it’s a valley surrounded by mountains about 20 minutes from downtown
The horsetail falls is amazing! Great advice on blending in as a tourist, as a Canadian I’d be out in full beach attire, too hot 😆. I really don’t think mountains and Mexico, but that’s kinda ignorant of me considering where Mexico is. The mountainous area does have a Hawaiian look to it 🤔. Mercado market looks like a fast way to pack on some vacation pounds 😬, tons of goodies! You guys always find some interesting places to dine and choose great looking cultural dishes. I wish I wasn’t so picky, I’d likely starve while abroad. It’s great for comfortable you are with public transportation and not relying as much on taxis or even Uber. It really shows how much you trust Mexico and I bet that trust allows you so much freedom while on vacation. It’s funny how little I know of Mexico, San Pedro Garza Garcia is a wealthy location and I’ve never heard of it. Honestly I’m ashamed I’ve not heard of most places outside Mexico City and resort cities. Great video, happy travels!
san pedro is one of the whealthiest location of all latin america, From mexico all the way to Argentina, San pedro looks so similar to the game map of GTA5 Los santos downtown, its small but really beautiful buildings, small mauntains, and wealthy beautiful houses on the mountains... I know gta5 is Los angeles, but its so similar to san pedro. Now that you metion hawaii, you could visit Mexico Quintana Roo (Rivera maya) Its like Hawaii but instead mountains we have crocodiles, jaguars and many animals in the jungle, And the beaches, oh man those beaches are so CLEANN and transparent watter... Mexico, Quintana Roo is the second place most visited in the world after Dubai... Tulum is the most beautiful beach in Quintana roo, and in some rankings (not all) tulum is rated to be one of the 5 most beautiful beaches IN THE WORLD... There you could visit the mansion of Pablo Escobar the world biggest drug lord, and really cool piramids You dont need to go diving to see corals and big colorful fish, You have them right infront of you on the beaches So if you ever want to visit hawaii but dont have enough money you could visit Quintana Roo, Its the same as hawaii but cheaper... with 2.5k Us Dollrs you could bring 5 people, and its enough to buy food, transport, and nice hotel in front of the beach for 6-7 days I went to mahahual Q.Roo 6 months ago with all my family for 7 days, we spend 2 thousand dollars in total, we stayed infront of the beach

Crazy!
I agree about the metro. It’s crazy affordable and I’m thinking it might be subsidized too. Don’t see how they could make a profit on that.
Fantastic video! I could see the face in the waterfall
Thank you! That face in the waterfall is pretty wild!
I also had an awaken experience with cactus 🌵. I never liked them until I was in my middle thirties. Saludos de California 🇲🇽.
Good timing we're about to board the night bus to Monterrey! Also we only wear jeans and normal clothes in Mexico, walking around in shorts and flip flops makes you a target for crime and everyone also would rip you off hahha
Awesome! Enjoy, it is awesome! Yeah, agreed it’s way better to just fit in. Makes for a more fun trip. Safe and fun travels guys.
@@laurenandseth where do yall recommend we visit most in Monterrey, especially for the nature side?
@@ellvis6897 Chipinque it’s a short drive from downtown up the Sierra Madre, lots of hiking trails and awesome views, Cola de caballo in Santiago (shown in this video), Grutas de García (caverns about 20 miles west of Monterrey), La Huasteca, it’s a valley surrounded by mountains about 20 minutes from downtown
Glad you liked our city!
Great video, happy travels!
san pedro is one of the whealthiest location of all latin america,
From mexico all the way to Argentina, San pedro looks so similar to the game map of GTA5 Los santos downtown, its small but really beautiful buildings, small mauntains, and wealthy beautiful houses on the mountains...
There you could visit the mansion of Pablo Escobar the world biggest drug lord, and really cool piramids
You dont need to go diving to see corals and big colorful fish, You have them right infront of you on the beaches
So if you ever want to visit hawaii but dont have enough money you could visit Quintana Roo, Its the same as hawaii but cheaper... with 2.5k Us Dollrs you could bring 5 people, and its enough to buy food, transport, and nice hotel in front of the beach for 6-7 days
I went to mahahual Q.Roo 6 months ago with all my family for 7 days, we spend 2 thousand dollars in total, we stayed infront of the beach
I live here in Monterrey and i love it here, your video is so well thought out and i really appreciatte it!

Thank you guys for visiting my city, not many tourist come here since we don't have much colonial arquitecture, most of downtown is not touristy like mercado Juárez se you showed. Just one correction, the tallest building in Latin America is TOP Wich is in Monterrey county in the Obispado Area, the one you guys showed is the second tallest in Mexico and 4th in Latin America

I’m so proud that people came to my hometown! Monterrey is lovely and people is so kind! I lived in Monterey, then moved to Puerto Vallarta (where I love it too), then moved to Dallas!
That’s awesome! I agree 100 percent about Monterrey.
Thank you for the video. I’ve been to Monterrey once as a youth my ancestors were the founders of the city. The cabrito is what I remember the most. I live out side San Antonio Tx and I can’t find any cabrito like it’s cooked down there.

Great travel blog, you've got to do the zip line at the waterfall guys! Pretty pretty, pretty, pretty natural landscapes, the city of Monterrey looks bustling too...will visit one day! Can see why you keep going back! Santiago at least I think it is Santiago is a real place of prominence for art...I'm sure that's where Frida Kahlo spent time with her lover....my memory is failing me a bit. Anyway it just looks so lively and vibrant!
The food looks great too. Thanks, you've swayed me to visit one day.

Great idea! :)
7:21 FYI Monterrey and all its Metro area are the Most Americanized City all across Mexico.
As soon as you visit other parts of Mexico. You will notice the difference by far.
By the Way 7:16 Esquites is the way of other southern parts of Mexico called it. In Monterrey we called "Elote desgranado" (Corn shelled). there is a lot of controversy as people from Monterrey wants to buy (Corn shelled) and you ask to the vendor "Can i get an Elote en vaso" and vendor shows you an amazed face and ask you back "What is it Elote desgranado" and vendor keep saying we know as "esquite" and you said but we're in Monterrey and we know it as Elote desgranado (Corn shelled).
