- Welcome to the updated compilation of Season 6. You'll find all your favorite classic episodes upgraded, re-white balanced, fixed timing issues, and a few deleted scenes thrown back in. All just in time for the 15th anniversary of the Irate Gamer show!
Also I made the hard decision to add a few bits of the dark back history into the commentary. I'm not comfortable talking about that aspect of the show but needed to be said given the context of the direction the season went and led to me quitting. Enjoy!

My hope is that we will see Michael Jackson's Moonwalker, Clash At Demonhead, Chip n Dale Rescue Rangers, Castlevania Bloodlines, Sonic 1-3, Altered Beast, Dragon Warrior and a few others in the next season. Hopefully, at least a couple of more seasons to come.

@@pikachuhutch234 Chris said it a while back, he plans to stick his reviews strictly to the 80's and 90's, mostly being the 8&16 bit eras. I doubt anytime in the near future he would go into that territory, especially after James Rolfe has already done that review and I think the last thing Chris wants is to stir anymore drama up.

@@pikachuhutch234 I don't think he would bash Sonic. But he would point out some of the more frustrating aspects of the games. And we all know, Sonic could be that at times. Great game series, but even a great game series has it's moments.
Castlevania, Kid Icarus....both classics of the NES and both are frustratingly hard.
Clash At Demonhead is one of my favorite games from the NES, and I would still love to see him cover it because especially at the very end of the game....you can beat every enemy in it, and still lose at the end. Not many games took that route back then. And this game does it really well, but can I acknowledge that a lot of people never figure out the strategy for this game and struggle to ever even get halfway decent at it? Yeah. Because this game doesn't play around. There is a strategy to win and then there is struggle with the game and most never take the time to learn to win.
DuckTales, really good game. Fun...but has places where I get the frustration. African mines....the suicide jumps on the frog men....is a frustrating sequence.
Getting in and out of the space ship on the moon...is frustrating because of how careful you need to be. One wrong move...you die.
The snow and ice in the Himalayas, makes it harder than any other level to get through because of the lack of jumping in many areas and the careful footing on the ice you need.
But even though these games have frustrating aspects, they are still fun and wonderful games to play.
Sonic is no different.
Sorry to hear about this “dark youtube” I would love to hear more about this. It’s hidden about major media names basically having a cartel. Please think about going into more details. This channel deserves love as much as anyone else’s.
RUclipss been run by a few big names in suits for decades now. I suspect looking into Machinima, alongside the game theory video 'They stole 6 million dollars." Big companies have attempted to monoplize youtube for a long time, and its only starting to come to light how evil they really are.

It’s for these reasons that I never completely trust any public figure. You really don’t know who they are. It’s pretty gross, the underbelly of things.
Watching your content for years Chris. And just want to say, I am sorry that you were approached by certain people that really made your channel go downhill. I saw in your character that you would be one to turn down those types and just continue in your passion and make your videos the way you want to. If one can sell your own character for gains, that is a path for soullessness. Sell your soul for the world is not a good route.

As soon as I found about this channel during your Super Mario Bros 2 review when I was only 5, I found this channel hilarious. The type of comedy that your channel brought back when I didn't watch gaming videos, always made me tear up with laughter along side my brother. The Rob, Die hard, GIJOE, and Ghostbusters video was definitely the ones that stuck out to me when it came into jokes and hilarity.
Even with the side series that you did like Irate the 80's and History of video games always fascinated me. Seeing how games weren't always as successful as I thought they were in modern days. The Micro machines video was with a doubt my favorite, I was mostly a car guy and even still collect them lmfao (as of in hot wheels).
I was recently watching all the seasons (May 27th- now at 2am as I'm typing this), and seasons 3-5 were the funniest to me. Even if this is the end of an era, Thank you for all the memories that you given me despite the backlash you've gotten overtime. I've always supported your content from just the beginning of your channel. Thanks for the memories
So glad to hear your thoughts. It was definitely a labor of love. Especially now when each video makes like 10.00 in revenue haha. But doing the show also gave me great memories of production work and helped increase my skill level. It has been a fun ride
The Punch Out video is by far one of my favorites you produced, the humor and satire is spot on, I got excited seeing you come back but now I understand your need to step away, thanks for a good time man I believe all of your fans here mean this.
My favourite moment from this season is the training montage in the punch out episode.
Loved the slap-stick, loved the story line! I think for me important was, as you said it yourself, you putting your heart and soul into it to entertain us! Much appreciated!

It's kind of amazing that not only is Irate still around, but how the tide has turned. It's wild how there was so much drama when the whole cause was "we don't like you cuz you're like this other guy." Dude always put a shitload of work into everything, the editing on these always impressed me. Good on you, Chris. Glad to see you kept your head up and came out the other side. Also holy shit, remastering old YT videos is something I've literally never seen another channel do. Usually it's just "repost all the old ones as a big upload."

I remember watching your original videos back in 2008, though being 7-8 at the time I maybe shouldn't have been watching them. But regardless, your channel will always hold a special place in my heart.

Been watching all your remastered videos (since it's easier to follow the order) and I have to say, I love your work. I didn't know a about your channel before (sorry!) but all your content, man, It's easy to see you put a lot of effort into every video. The History of Videogames was amazing, but seriously, all of it was great. I watched the 6 seasons and it was super fun. I love the humor and all the editing and special effects stuff. Might not mean much, but you've got a new fan.

Chris, while I, personally, missed the season long story line style from Season 5, I can see why some people prefer just you being Irate on a game-per-game basis.
Perhaps, in the future, you could do a "mini-story" spanning the course of 2 or 3 related episodes? Maybe reviewing the various Battletoad games with you getting pulled into the game world in a similar fashion as the 'toads?
Just a suggestion.

I'm sorry to hear what you had to go through with those certain people. Big credit for your answer, since I can only imagine what sort of "deal" they tried to bribe you with. If was sad what happened in the time after this season. I was worried that something unfortunate happened, glad to see it wasn't as bad as I had feared. Since the Nerd fanboys insisted that any reviewers inspired by him were cheap copycats. Clearly they never saw the stagnation that comes from lack of competition. I am truly glad to see you back in action Chris. Keep up the great work.

I watched your channel like 10 or more years ago and enjoyed the heck out of it. I then returned to youtube altogether later on and was wondering why views just weren't the same for your channel so this makes complete sense.
wow season 6 is 6 years old gosh i remember when the coolspot video was new but seeing all of your Irategamer show in crisp clear HD is like a nostolgia overload chris if you had a dvd of this i'd buy it without hesitation

Hard to believe that you've been around for six seasons you definitely earned your keep Chris that's for sure. I remember watching you for the first time about your Super Mario Bros 2 review and ever since I watched that I could hardly believe that that game was actually a copy and paste of Doki Doki Panic.
I will say that some of my favorite seasons of your show are from season 2, 3, 4 and 6. I do have a question have you thought about doing the show again but with the modern games from like the Playstation, Xbox and Sega dreamcast Era review.

* Fun Fact: I know Generation 2 actually ended around 2002, but Bob West stopped voicing Barney in 2000, and got replaced by Tim Dever and Duncan Brannan, before Dean Wendt took over Generation 3 - present.

However, there always people that try to bring you down over the years. I don’t know this darker side of RUclips but based on your hint, it sounds like multimedia sponsors or companies like Maker, Polaris & Machinima did some cut throat tactics with you within the gaming category market on this platform
Well whatever the case is, I’m happy you never agree with their terms & continue to enjoy doing your own thing, as your very own irate gamer.

PERSPECTIVE
Great commentary and I had a feeling you had to be approached by some goon squad, because like with anything, there is always dark side. Good for you for declining and it shows how passionate you are about your work. And I think at the end of the day, this is what matters the most, because you will be remembered as good and nice guy and not sellout that got on top with some nasty skeletons in the closet (and many youtubers that said yes to those guys, have just that and are venomous people).
One day, the story will break out, because it seems gaming side, or even youtube overall, is preparing for reboot and there will be new faces, because most of the "old guard" that was popular and said yes are already dropping in views dramatically and since they want attention and can't leave without that, so they will tell everything and then some and all people will see their true colors. And when it's over, you will be the winner and in the good side.
So anyway, thanks for all of the years of entertainment, great laughs and nice times and I hope that in the future, we will get some more :)

You should ditch RUclips all together and go to Rumble any one on Rumble is fast growing there subscriber base and as of yet there is not really much of any Old school game reviewers on there. I have switched all my content to Rumble from my channel.

I like that you remembered Donkey Kong 3! I hate the NES omits some elements of the arcade original three DK games on their NES ports.
I picked that up when it was like 30.00 and I was reluctant to pay so much. That sucker has triple in price since then which is in itself interesting.

Having now watched most of the episodes from this entire series (including the later revival episodes), in hindsight, I think you being labeled an AVGN ripoff was totally unfair. Similar genre? Yes, but so what? No content creator is entitled to a monopoly on a genre. Your content was unique enough to differentiate yourself, and your exact style and brand of humor is absolutely unique to your content. It is a shame your channel crashed and burned view-wise, though I notice that AVGN doesn't get near the views he used to either.
James himself has pretty much told me many time the same sentiment. Thanks for the kind words. I tried my best to be different while having fun
