Every time i leave you say you won't be there and you're always there. Every time i cry your name at night. You pull close and say it's alright.I look in your eyes just like the rain washing me rain wash over me. Touching your face i feel the heat of your heartbeat echo in my head like a screem. What you do to me. Waiting so long i can't wait another day without you. Jet city women.
Ever since Evanescence ever came out, this asskicking sound is put down! No heavy drums that actually sound good, guitars that had sustain and a frontsinger with character!!!
joe elliot of def lepard said geoff tate disgusted him because his voice was so perfect it usually took only 1-2 takes for him to get the voice tracks right whereas elliot's sessions resembled a marathon. sounds about right to me.what a voice.
I still cry when I hear this song! It is always on my play list. My boyfriend and I lived in different states and I only saw him in the summer and some holidays. Then he moved to my state and I moved to his just in time for HS. We lost touch after that.
I wanna see a Geoff Tate clone try out for American Idol... LMAO!!!! There is no such being, but it would be funny to watch their expressions when he/she tried out... Tate Owns Your Feeble Souls!
Love this song! I could listen to it all day long. Geoff Tate has an amazing voice. I saw them in concert during their Empire tour and they put on an outstanding show!
@USMANchampNO1 Society always worked like this. Let them enjoy crap music and favor dumb idols. Everyone gets what he/she deserves really!! As for all the QR fans we have to thank them for their contribution to music.
@nickhaze1, that's cool, good to know you didn't miss out on Queensryche. Make sure you check out Queensryche's other great songs too, which is pretty much everything of theirs. I'm an old lady now, but when and if the day comes that Guitar Hero or Rock Band puts Operation: Mindcrime or QR's Greatest Hits on their system, I will give in and buy the works, and woe to those who think they will beat me. lol ; ) RYCHE ON!
@Klanshu, Hi, not sure what you are stating here. Did you see Geoff on a solo tour, maybe? Because the core of the band (Wilton, Rockenfield, Jackson) have always been by Geoff's side since QR's inception with the exception of Chris DeGarmo who left sometime in the 90's. QR brings in a new guitarest every now and then to fill that void (which to hardcore QR fans, will never happen, unless it's actually DeGarmo). Such a shame that Whip, Scott, & Eddie get overlooked for their talents. RYCHE ON!
The music industry is controlled by the marketing people. If your arse looks good enough, can hum a tune that can be sampled, then you'll have a contract,no talent required! If the said arse is big enough, they may throw a few stickers on it and put it on tv. Real music as we know it lives on in RUclips and in our memories. Long live QUEENSRYCHE!
i wouldnt call this heavy...i didnt even back in the day when i listened to ryche.....but its 10000x better than the shit that gets air time these days.
@Kahnivorous Meh unfortunately Seattle is no longer the hub for music. You can thank those corporate assholes who try to pass people like Miley Cyrus and Lady Gaga as real music. Its sad really, I wish I could have grown up in the 70's and 80's so I wouldn't have to be ear raped by today's music. Long live Queensryche, ACDC, Nirvana, ZZ Top, Queen, and all the other geniuses who TRULY revolutionized music.
the girls in my favorite "go-go bar" use to play this frequently on the jukebox, and really crank-up hot to this song... to bad the gov was scandalized by this bar when she came into AC Intl Airport one day (they had a big sign on the roof of the bar at the airport circle...and...and...now the bar is a restaurant called Christi's... named after the ex-gov I'm sure...anyway, that's where I first heard it about ten years ago... man, those girls could really crank up to it... flashrob
BallsMahonie, now hold up. I ABSOLUTLY LOVE Queensryche, I own every album, but I gotta hand it to dream theater, They have coverd just about every song there is, and they almost do it better then the original version. Still Queensryche has all of the song that hold the best messages and meanings. Dream theater is like, They hold the best musicianship. Sorry for the spelling. They both kick soo much ass. Peace to all!
@meinschatzie There's still music with meaning. It only seems you are listening to things that are widely known after some years, music and bands that have become common knowledge, classic, known anyway. That's a proccess that takes time. You can always SEARCH for stuff that are in their beginning. Music is still alive. Some of you guys though aren't...
I just got Queensryche, Warning and Rage for Order. I put Warning to listen to it. I have a question to you Queesnryche old time fans. Does these new reissue albums with Added Tracks have their Dynamic Range Compressed or do they conserve the dynamics of the orignal Record. The disc list is a 24 bit digital remaster.
The thing about Queensryche's music is it is a 'musician's music'. What I mean is this is some really difficult stuff to play. Look at the metering, changeups and unpredictability. Holy Complications Batman. In my opinion this is what made them great. I saw them perform Livecrime... awesome. Don't forget about their older stuff too!
When i was a year old back in "91" me and my parents went on our first vacation to Myrtle Beach in SC and there was a place that did like videos and stuff and we made a music video to this song, we still got it laying around the house somewhere, thumbs up for last 20 years of rockin out with Queensryche
Jet city WOOOOMAN! (Sorry, couldn't resist) This song can be described with five words - This. Is. The. Song. Period. I hate to sound like a geezer, but it's true what some of you said - these days people don't make music the way they used to. It's sad really.
my god, if it werent for the retched newspapers and that they had to be delivered i wouldnt know of these guys, figure that id be stuck with Eminem and crap like that. These guys are the best by farrr with only competition by Iron Maiden. Anywhere to get these guys live?
well said, i've listened to alot of the new stuff since DeGarmo, and there is such a difference in the chemistry with the new band members. No where near the talent of the originals. Sorry, i still love the Ryche but the original band was amazing along with Tate's vocals.
mein...They were awesome in concert! Just as clear and crisp as their recordings! Unlike most bands live! I wish I could go back in time! But hey- there are some great bands out there now, just not in mainstream, gotta really search them out.
I couldn't agree more.... Lots of no talent smucks on the airwaves. One problem with you analysis is that good as they are Queensryche was a product of that corpoarate music industry..... one of the few gems to survive the "bean counters".
not bad, I actually like this song. but really like some Zepplin, Queen, Bob Seger. I too, tire of politics in my music. Music should be fun! An outlet! But hey, different is good.:)
@PsuedoNam growing up in the 70's and 80's was a blast! I hate what corporate assholes and cable news have done to this country. All of the fun is gone, now it's all about money.
true ... i've seen all of them live and must say DT still is the best -- their epic concerts are incredible, and it would be very difficult to surpass their talent/musicianship
Beautiful ballad!!!! If you've ever been in love you can understand the longing in this song. Everything done perfectly in this one!!! Geoff Tate ROCKS!!!!
I'm very close to Seattle. Nothing unique has come from here lately. Hendrix was original - Kobane was not the best, just found on more stages and back alleys.
@meinschatzie my dad saw these guys live a couple of times. But if i could go to anyplace in time, i would go to Woodstock 1969 and then Woodstock 1994
Back then I didn't know his name was pronounced Jeff. I insisted to a friend it was pronounced Goe ef, walked around insisting on the wrong pronunciation.
@CrushJehovah
im with you there man great great music

geoff tate's one of the best vocalists from the time wow.. love this song. the bass riff. everythinf
jet city woman lives on somewhere over the rainbow!
bruce is not in the same league, TATE is way better in any form of singing.
Brilliant song, brilliant group. Thank you for putting this up.
he has such a good voice thats what makes their music so good
Queensryche is definitely in my top 5, no doubt.
I don't think this band ever made a bad song.
geoff tate has one of the best voces ever!
saw them in concert in the 90s awesome
Queensryche..underrated band for sure.
@USMANchampNO1 Society always worked like this. Let them enjoy crap music and favor dumb idols. Everyone gets what he/she deserves really!! As for all the QR fans we have to thank them for their contribution to music.
Chris DeGarmo - fantastic guitarist
one of the best rock singers ever.
One of the best bands all time.
Can you say, "The Real Deal!"?
Likeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

i wore my dads Queensryche cd out because of a few songs on there this is one of the best german bands woooooooooo go germans you guys rock
im not a hardcore queensyche fan by any means, and there are a ton of bands i like more
nevertheless, this is by far my most favorite song ever
1.Megadeth 2.Ozzy 3.Iron Maiden 4.Queensryche 5.Judas Priest 6.Testament 7.Slayer 8. Old Metallica 9.Metal Church 10.Exodus. Metal 4life
Whenver I listen to this song I think of Shibon from 'How do you solve a problem like Maria?'... xD I love this song, nonetheless :3
i love the video and song, i sing it at karioke and people get a different menaing every time they hear it, i love this song
Glad you were curious enough to see who they are. You must have a great relationship with her. Hope you liked what you heard.
got a lap dance to this song in pittsburgh over the weekend. This song is a great song, but it's got a new meaning now. Love it!
@USMANchampNO1 Because the rapper/gangsta of today, has not soul. No love of music, only bling. Tasteless bunch of felons.
I read Geoff Tate was trained as an opera singer, and performed as such before he started playing metal! Interesting....
Was in Montreal last night at their show, it was awesome when they played this. QUEENSRYCHE FTW!
@1falconeye2
seen him twice in 3 yrs and he still got it!... just wish the rest of the band was still together
@sheshell88 do you mean Geoff Tate?..... George Lynch is ex guitarist for Dokken and current Lynch Mob Guitarist
love this song i was pretty angry when I saw them live in columbus and they didn't even play this! WTF!
that's so random and contrived to piss people off that I can't stop laughing...as I'm sure you are too.
HELL YA THIS WAS MY SHHT BACK IN THE DAY ,,,, WHEn My dad Had his drums .. id play this !!
i agree with swamprocker. no doubt one of the best if not the best rock voices ive ever listened to
a truely tremendous piece of music. the whole album rocked!
I'm only now hearing the vocal similarities between Tate and Warrel Dane of Nevermore. Good god!
I cried to this song, god knows how many times, whenever I would leave my girlfriend for weeks.
this is the jammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
fuck man, If i were to shave my stomache and chest , i would look just like the singer/
This band still rocks, check out their American Soldier CD. Geoff's voice is unmatched.
i know this was just a music video but i would of loved to be in that studio audience
@PsuedoNam I know what you mean. I live in Seattle. The bands here now are horrible.
I just think it's far out that Chris DeGarmo quit and is a commercial pilot now. lol
Wow this is definitly one of the greatest rock songs..amazing..it's damn awesome
okay, it was not bruce dickinson it was the guy from kansas. saturday night live
@Tatertoot9 well said.. dream theater is my favorite :) this is also awesome
The 20 people who pushed dislike rather listen to Justin Beaver (Bieber xD).
@PsuedoNam
i wish i could've too... i am sad to say i was born in 95...
90s - present: also symphony x and opeth seem like they're leading the way
kick ass song!!!!!
God I loved their sound. Why can't there be music like this today?
Actually, I think Empire is better as well as Queen of the Riech
butt rock forever! gotta love the 80's. all that androgenus shit
I have not heard this song in a long time, thanks for posting!
I miss Seattle I hope I can die in the city that I was born!
this was made like back in late 80's or very early 90's.
Supposedly it was burnout. He is a commercial pilot now.
Finally get to this them come Feb 13th.. Can't wait...
this may go down as one of the best metal songs. ever.
1:17 echo in my head like a screaaammm!!
hell yeah!!
Why did Chris DeGarmo even leave Queensryche anyways?
both!
empire for sounds and operation for lyrics!
Rap is not music. Words to beats yes, music...no.
Thanks for this awesome upload! Missed this song!
80s: Queensryche
90s - present: Dream Theater
