    Lyrics
Welcome to where time stands still
No one leaves and no one will
Moon is full, never seems to change
    Just labeled mentally deranged
Dream the same thing every night
I see our freedom in my sight
No locked doors, no windows barred
No things to make my brain seem scarred
Sleep my friend and you will see
    That dream is my reality
They keep me locked up in this cage
Can't they see it's why my brain says rage
    Sanitarium, leave me be
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
Build my fear of what's out there
And cannot breathe the open air
    Whisper things into my brain
    Assuring me that I'm insane
They think our heads are in their hands
But violent use brings violent plans
Keep him tied, it makes him well
He's getting better, can't you tell?
No more can they keep us in
Listen, damn it, we will win
They see it right, they see it well
But they think this saves us from our Hell
    Sanitarium, leave me be
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
    Fear of living on
    Natives getting restless now
    Mutiny in the air
    Got some death to do
    Mirror stares back hard
Kill, it's such a friendly word
    Seems the only way
    For reaching out again.

ThatMetalHead72 I know that. I was born in 1992. What I'm trying to say has nothing to do with the year 1986 when it came out. Everytime I listen to the slow melodic parts of this song I start to think about the good old times when I was little.

Many years ago, i was listening and watching this song without being aware of anything, and i was listening to it by looking at the photographs and thinking about what people had experienced in these places. Over time, it has become my favorite song and the one i listen to the most. 20 years have passed since then. I learned the meaning of sanatorium and now I am a "Tuberculosis War Doctor" and I work in a sanatorium. From time to time I look back and wonder if this song had an impact on changing my life.

  • @boredhousewifelife
    @boredhousewifelife 10 лет назад +49

Now every time I hear this song it reminds me of the HBO documentary "Paradise Lost" and I can't help but feel sick to my stomach with how messed up our court system is. There is no real justice. 3 boys were wrongfully charged with the murders of 3 younger boys. But in the biggest fail of it all, they could only be released if they plead guilty to the crime they always knew they were innocent of. Jason would have refused if Damien wouldn't have been facing the death penalty. So not only did the "justice" system fail them, and take away 17 years of their lives, but the REAL killer of 3 precious 8 year old boys walks FREE today. And meanwhile in a case I'm very familiar with since I reside in the state of Florida, the Casey Anthony trail. OVERWHELMING evidence of her guilt. But she walks free today. Why? Because she's a young white upper middle class woman. These boys were convicted because they liked black clothing and heavy metal, something that now 20 years later people don't bat an eye at. And once again, the real victim is that precious baby girl Caylee, who was thrown away like trash, and her KILLER walks FREE today. AMERICANS, THIS IS NOT JUSTICE. WE CAN'T JUST KEEP TURNING OUR BACKS AND PRETENDING THIS IS WOULDN'T HAPPEN, IT IS! AND UNLESS WE START DEMANDING CHANGE, MORE WILL DIE IN VAIN.

Nico Contreras yeah, after 17 years in prison for a crime they didn't commit. worse, the actual killer was has never been found or punished for the 3 boys that were murdered. They were all 8 years old. So justice isn't just lost, it's perverted. There is nothing justified about it. Makes me sick. The WM3, men now, boys still themselves when they were arrested, to be released they basically had to plead guilty or else they wouldn't be released. So justice will never come, because they aren't looking for the killer. They can't accuse someone else of the crime they pled guilty to already.

    • @nicocontreras5366
      @nicocontreras5366 10 лет назад +3

    METALLICA - Welcome Home (Sanitarium)
Welcome to where time stands still
No one leaves and no one will
Moon is full, never seems to change
    Just labeled mentally deranged
Dream the same thing every night
I see our freedom in my sight
No locked doors, no windows barred
No things to make my brain seem scarred
Sleep my friend and you will see
    That dream is my reality
They keep me locked up in this cage
Can't they see it's why my brain says rage
    Sanitarium, leave me be
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
Build my fear of what's out there
And cannot breathe the open air
    Whisper things into my brain
    Assuring me that i'm insane
They think our heads are in their hands
But violent use brings violent plans
Keep him tied, it makes him well
He's getting better, can't you tell?
No more can they keep us in
Listen, damn it, we will win
They see it right, they see it well
But they think this saves us from our hell
    Sanitarium, leave me be
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
    Sanitarium, just leave me alone
    Fear of living on
    Natives getting restless now
    Mutiny in the air
    Got some death to do
    Mirror stares back hard
Kill, is such a friendly word
    Seems the only way
    For reaching out again

I never really believed in the idea of vinyl being so much better than digital until I looked up this tune and tried to press my headphones onto my ears as tightly as possible the way I did when I was a kid to get that "right there" audio quality. Back then, on my old record, it felt like Hammett was directly behind my right ear and the song was playing in the middle of my brain. I still love the song, but I can't really experience it the way I used to when I lived with my folks and Dad had his old 70's stereo system. So yeah, I'm now looking up record players to buy.

I've always kinda seen Metallica and Megadeth as The Beatles and Rolling Stones of Metal .... The Stones were probably technically better than The Beatles but the Beatles just wrote way better songs that are far more loved and memorable than those of The Stones, Same with these two amazing Bands, Megadeth in my own opinion are more technically gifted than Metallica, but Metallica as with The Beatles just write way better and more memorable songs that endure in our hearts. this is just my own personal opinion, I prefer Metallica to Megadeth and I don't think any Metal band will ever be bigger than them, but they're both badass bands in their own separate rights. :-)
