Morning Sherri. Just love all of your content and Podcast. You are my very first instructor that I started with! Have learned everything I know about quilting from RUclips! Started 2 years ago and have watched and loved all of your lessons! You always have great tips and tricks! Love the idea of closing on the back for this pin cushion! Makes it so much easier and neater! Have a great day. Star from Huntsville, Canada @StellaQuilts
Thank you Sherri for the tutorial and the free pattern. I make pin cushions with the crushed walnuts because they just stay put because of the weight. I love the 2 piece back so much neater. I’ve also done the cross stitch ones they are just so cute. I also put batting in the corners and the seam before stitching it that way the crushed walnuts don’t come out while I am sewing it closed. All very great tips you mentioned. 😊
I like the idea of putting the opening on the back, and using a label on that seam closing is even better. I saw a tutorial where they put mostly polyester mixed with the walnut shells inside. I think this way makes a higher quality pin cushion to sharpen the pins.
Very cute this is so cool. If someone doesn't like the seam on the back you can put lace or a shape out of felt or wool or a ribbon. A label also. Nice gift!
Thank you so much for showing us this, Sherri. I made a little rice bag once, and struggled so much with filling it, I refused to try one again :)! Your tutorial has inspired me, to try again with a cute pin cushion. These pincushions are so very sweet, and what a great idea with a little cross-stitch.
Good morning what a wonderful idea on doing the back of the pin cushion thank you for sharing I just love your videos and Prodcast have a great day all the best Donna from canada
Thanks for sharing the pin cushion idea. I have not seen that type of stuffing. You were so neat and tidy while filling the pin cushion. I am sure I would have had it all over the table. Good instructions.
t looks so cute in the Bountiful Blooms fabric. I can't wait for that fabric it to come out. I just ordered a half yard bundle of Favorite Things fabric. Thanks to the blog for notifying me early!
This is so cute. I have a stack of small rectangles from cutting ends off charm packs for a pattern I can use. I think I will also have my class make these. What a great project to conquer quickly when you need to finish something.
HI - love your video and looks easy and cute to make - could you also use poly pellets with the crushed walnut shells, or perhaps poly fill and poly pellets to stuff with? Thank you :-)
I love this video and had been wondering about making a pin cushion. I always love all your videos that you make and look forward to each one. I learn so much! I have been looking for the pattern or video you have on that beautiful pineapple quilt that you show that is to your right. Can you let me know where I can find the pattern? Thank!
Question for everyone: Have you had pins rust that were in a walnut shell filled pin cushion? I had my favorite fine Clover pins rust in my wool pin cushion with walnut filling. Bummer. Anyone else?
I love those pin cushions.
The pincushion is adorable sherri. And cute fabric as well. Thank you.

These were excellent tips Sherri! Thank you very much and for the cute pattern!
Cute pincushions, I recently made quite a few for sale, and I definitely prefer using walnut shells. Thanks for sharing yours. 👍❤️😊

What if you used a little fabric glue on that seam before you stitched it to hold it together? It's really a cute pincushion!

Thanks for this cute pincushion. I would put a piece of plastic in the bottom so the pins don’t go all the way through. I speak from experience!

Great tips. Only problem I see is that it's too cute to stick it with a lot of pins. I will definitely make some. Patty
Cute idea, but I really don't like that big seam showing on the back of the pin cushion.
