I love watching these just to listen, it's very relaxing. That said I might try to make this. In the meantime I'll just re-watch this video another dozen or so times, lol.
This is such a beautiful and economic artform. I greatly wish to try it, but I have so many started projects, I MUST finish a few before starting something new.😊 I'll be back!
I've packed up all my sewing things because I am in the process of moving. This will be added to my list of stuff to make once my sewing room is made up.
I’ve never put a biscornu together this way. I’ve always assembled right side out with a ladder stitch. It makes the shape a bit better than assembling this way.
Thank you for sharing your experience! It's always interesting to learn new techniques in the crafting community.💕 Another reason I chose to use back stitches is they hold the fabrics together better, so the crushed walnut shells do not fall out. :)
Thank you for your kind words! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the tutorial and are willing to give it a try. Feel free to share it with me on Instagram!
Hello! thanks for such beautiful ideas. I learnt sashiko with you and the domestika course, but thanks to you i could made a thimble and start going. Im going to send you a donation Arigato Gozeimas Sensei!
Thanks! Your instructions for drawing the pattern are just what I needed. They're clear and easy to follow. What alternative would you suggest if someone doesn't have walnut shells?
Thank you so much for your generous support! For the filling, I highly recommend you use ground walnut shells if you want your pincushion to last. You can also find them in your local pet stores, although I haven't tested them yet. Otherwise, if you want to make a temporary one, you can use fabric/thread scraps. Or take a small amount of filling from a pillow or cushion and sew them back. :)
Love love love this! I’ve been doing sashiko stitching a few years (and pincushions) and I learned a few new skills with your video! You’re very talented. Thanks for sharing ❤❤❤

Hi! Personally, I prefer to draw things myself without using patterned stencils. However, you can find stencils with a 1cm or 0.5cm grid which can speed up your process while still allowing you the fun of drawing. Enjoy your crafting!
Hi, I might have left the seam allowance a bit bigger, but 16cm is exactly what you need to achieve the final size. 13cm for the asanoha pattern (12+0.5 *2), 0.5*2 for seam, and 1*2 for the seam allowance. Hope this helps. ☺️
Hi, I myself like figuring out patterns by drawing them on paper first. It’s a Kinaesthetic learning process, and I really enjoy it. :) So I highly recommend you give it a try. 😊

Hi, what are the dimensions of the fabric again? You mentioned 16cm but it looks much larger than that

I'm struggling to understand where the diagonal lines go... I'm afraid I have lines going everywhere. Should have practiced on paper, first?
Hi, I myself like figuring out patterns by drawing them on paper first. It’s a Kinaesthetic learning process, and I really enjoy it. :) So I highly recommend you give it a try. 😊
I like to practice using quad ruled paper note book and and I use different colors as steps
to avoid crossing threads at intersection do you slide the needle between the 2 pieces of fabric?
Yes, when I sew with two layers of fabric, I pass my needle through the layers. :)
How did you grind the walnut shells?
Hi. I bough it. You should be able to find it in your local pet store. :) but I’m pretty sure you can ground it yourself too. :)
which brand white pen are you using? I'm having a problem finding a white pen thatleaves a clear line on fabric.
Hi, I left the links of the supplies in the description. Hope it helps.
🥰🙏🍀👏
Can't get the walnut shells here and can't be delivered.
Your tutorial videos are fantastic. However I have trouble hearing you as the music is too loud. Maybe other viewers are having the same problem.
Thank you so much for letting me know! This will help me improve my video quality !
I'm always happy to have softer music.
Oh my gosh !!! Please remove your music !!!!
