    I have printed out this pattern and I am going to make two quilts, One for my Brother and his wife as I still owe them a wedding gift of a quilt and my Son as he gets married Sat the 20th of Feb. so I want to make them one also. they will get theirs for their 1st year anniversary. I am going to use the colors they each had in their weddings. Thank you so much for this beautiful pattern

    I just finished this wall hanging, bought the kit. Now, any ideas on the quilting part?…if I were to do a stipple, would that take away from the block work/logs?…I really don’t want to do stitch in the ditch, at least not every seam!…just looking for some thought/ideas 🤷‍♀️

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  4 года назад +1

      Hello Donna! You can stitch in the ditch (doesn't need to be every seam) or a stipple would look nice using a light beige thread that will blend nicely with all the colors. - Yajaira

    I’m new to quilting. Absolutely love your tutorials. I’ve made a few log cabin quilt squares using 2 1/2” strips. Am I understanding this correctly in that the strips are cut wider and longer than needed to trim after each round?

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  3 года назад

      Hi Corinne! Yes, that is correct! you will cut the strips wider and longer and trim after each round! Thank you for watching! - Sophie

    Hi. Thank you for you lovely tutorial. I would like to know why the width of the strips are not smaller so there's no need to cut and waste so much fabric. I would appreciate your reply as I am thinking of buying this ruler. But it puts me off the waste of fabric. Thanks xx❤️xx

    Is there a way to use jelly roll strips with this ruler?

      Hi Rachelle! You could certainly use jelly roll strips, however there would be a bit more trimming involved! Thank you for watching! - Sophie

    I can’t find the download that tells me the length of fabric to cut for each round. The ruler came with the directions on how to make the courthouse block, and your kit came with a list of everything in the kit, but nowhere can I find the instructions telling me how long to cut the pieces. Help please.

      Hello Donna! You can find the download and all the notions that Jen uses in the video description where it says "Show More." Here is the link to the page: www.shabbyfabrics.com/Free-Downloads-W4C258.aspx - Yajaira

      Thank you, Yajaira, but I still can’t find any instructions showing how long to cut the pieces. All I can find are the instructions that came with the kit, nothing additional. I’m using an IPad, so maybe that has something to do with it.

    i have a question. when you first start sewing you don't hold down both threads. how do you do that? i've watched several sewing videos and you all do it the same. is it a feature on your machine? beautiful block and fabric

    • @ShabbyFabrics
      @ShabbyFabrics  4 года назад

      Hello! Jen usually likes to hold her thread down when she first starts sewing. It is not a feature we have on our machine. You want to do what makes you feel comfortable and what you think will look precise from start to finish. - Yajaira
