Thanks so much for this tutorial!! I have always wondered how to get my seams to be in the middle when I turn a project. I learn something from every tutorial you post! You are an excellent teacher!!!! Thank you for the free patterns that you so generously offer. Please keep doing what you do!!!
The placemat comes out looking great with the Autumn colours. I absolutely loved the video introduction showing all of the colours in the trees. That's one thing I really miss since we moved from Scotland to live in Australia, the variety and range of trees which have leaves that change colour. Many thanks, Jess
Matt and Donna, This pattern is stunning, I have had a profound emotional response to the beauty of this placemat. They are really not normally my colours at all, but the way you have assembled them and the pattern you have created with them has had a real impact on me. Many thanks to you both. 🙏
OM the majestic trees lining the road took me by surprise. In Deep South TX there is no such things. Beautiful TY Matt for the drive. I too have a special Christmas 201/2" strip set that only has 20 yes yes will knock them out this week .
Thank you for the final pressing of the outer seam trick! Much faster than sticking a pin in and attempting to pull on the seam enough to make it lay flat!
I just ordered a patriotic log cabin tablerunner kit-after seeing the email on FRESH CUTS. Thanks I'm going to give this a try and thinking the log cabin pattern will make perfect gifts for next year. Let me make myself one first. :) Thanks so much
I just want to jump in a plane and fly to America and come to your shop, all the prints you choose are so perfect together, I want them all!! You are a great teacher, I have stopped watching other tutorials as you are the best.💖
What a beautiful part of the world 😊 Love the batiks in the placemats. And your tip for having neat edges when turning the mats inside out, or rather back the right way. This is something I should be able to manage instead of being angly challenged with your star ones! Getting quite adept at reverse-sewing (unpicking)! Thanks again, from OZ
I've sewn for decades and while using your fingernail to finger press the seems seems elementary, it really does make a difference in the final outcome! Thanks for making this point so clearly and often, it may seem like a detail that can be glossed over but the final result is so much nicer when using your tip! Thanks Donna, I just found your TY channel and I'm hooked! So many great ideas..... you and Matt are inspiring me to get back to work.....
A gorgeous choice of colours...and great instructions ...a well deserved wow..The red at the centre and edges and the light fabric with grapes ,they are beautiful
I love your videos you are so talented haven't been able to put my phone down from watching your videos last few days... I just happened onto your Channel and it's wonderful... you have so many useful tips you do beautiful work thank you
Beautiful selection of fabric colors and placemat turned out gorgeous. Thank you for the tip on getting the sewn edges flat, this will work for other projects as well.
The perfect placemat! I love the colors, great choice 👍🏻Matt! I could watch you all day but then I wouldn’t get my sewing done! Thank you, you’re the greatest!
Loved seeing the flaming red trees, breathtaking! Today's October 17th and the forecast is 98 degrees. Oh, and sunny! It's almost always sunny here. Wish I was there as I am soooo ready for cooler weather (and quilts on the beds). xoxo from Arizona.
As usual - beautiful work!! I love when you and Matt work together - I need a "Matt" - he picks out the most beautiful color combinations! Both of you are so gifted! Thank you for another great video!
Mat - the colours on the trees in your area are beautiful. Where I live in Adelaide (South Australia) new life is just sprouting on our trees as the weather warms up in anticipation of summer.
Hi Donna, Matt, thank you for showing us the colorful trees in this video. I love watching your channel and can't wait to see the new shop. Can I please suggestion: please use more color variations in the patterns you are showing as most of them are very traditional combinations. Loved the video how to make a dress. ❤️✂️❤️✂️❤️✂️
Jordan I have watch other quilters, They don’t show their work as well as you do .Your video makes you feel like you there with you.And I like that.I wish I could quilted well as you do
Thank you both for this placemat video. I'm in the process of downsizing my stash. This will be a great pattern to use; so many color options can be used in this. Can't wait to get started!! First step...cutting 2 1/2" strips!! Thanks again.
You guys have a great line of fabrics and patterns. I live in Washington, and I think a road trip is in my future to visit your store. Thank you for this great pdf!
Your videos are pretty awesome. I've done sewing but have never quilted and your videos are so clear, simple and so well-explained I may give it a try! Thanks for sharing your knowledge and expertise.
Hi From Australia. I just love you guys. The tips and hints are amazing. I too need a "Matt" to pick out colours. I love your shop and your patterns. Wish I lived in Grants Pass. Wait!! I second thought no.... I would be broke because I would be buying your beautiful fabrics.
Around 2:19 in the timeline, the yellow and green fabric pulled from the shelf..... who makes that?! Beautiful! I needed that! Also, in the choices on the table.... love that red! Who's love is that?!
Donna, thank you for this video. I took on an ambitious project--an 11 foot long rail fence table runner. This method worked beautifully, except I tried spray basting it. Once I turned it inside out, the top seemed to have stretched a bit but since it was sewn around the edges I couldn't fix it. Getting ready to quilt it and smoothing and pinning the best I can, but no matter what I do there is still that extra fabric. Any suggestions? Or will it get taken up with the quilting?
