Hello a few q's? 1. What are the features of your maintenance Valet offer? 2. On the rim/wheels side I noticed you used Iron/fallout remover, can a decent car shampoo not to an extent rid the rims of brake dust? 3. On the body side, I also noticed you used TFR, don't most decent car shampoos (especially snow Foam washes) again to an extent rid the exterior of TF? Now if they don't how/what sequence do you use the exterior body chemicals (Snow Foam/Car Wash liquid, TFR, Tar remover? 4. I'd like you to dm me your price lists (and features) of your 4 main services (Interior, exterior, Maintenance, Valet), and additional services like steam clean, engine clean/dressing, DECON ??
Hi Dave, thankfully the client had a outside tap, with all the equipment you had taken with you,you sorted it,but you would need a water tank to valet cars, how many cars would a tank do in a day like yours? great video.
Hi Steven, my tank gets me about 3 cars and it's perfect for what I need. Did have larger tank but the van was sinking in the ground so had to shed the weight 😬
I'm using my 2013 vauxhall zafira with 120k on the clock,I keep it clean and have a nice little set up to keep my products and electrical stuff to be as professional as possible,I find most people let me use there water and electricity,I think if your good at what your doing and replicate that to the customer cars then a car is a no brainer!!!
honestly at first i was worried but soon realised clients never minded. sure you couldn't do some jobs but it was never a do or die situation. I just took the loses with the wins
Hi buddy What products are your go to products please? What ceramic spray was you using? Love the ideas of the general car valet you have shown here . Great video by the way
If I can't get customers to drop their car at mine then I have to use my volkswagen bora. Proper trooper and the boot is a decent size to fit the essentials. That's what it is about sometimes... The essentials.... Currently looking at buying an estate car so that I can get a gazebo in there. If I remember correctly car cleaning guru used to do do it out of a volvo c30 and now does it out of his 370z. My bora is modified and looks pretty cool and customers do compliment me on my 15 year old car. Does it look professional... I don't know but when I get the job done I don't think the car is a problem
Yeh love the fact car cleaning guru does it out the back if a 370z. If you can live without a tank then a car wins hands down for me. I'd be interested to see what it's like without rear seats in an estate car to see how much stuff fits in
Can't take the seats out as I need it for the kids aswell.... Selfish buggers they are 😂😂... But would be interesting... Could potentially squeeze a water tank in the back if you did.... Maybe need to make a false floor or something.
@@MrMoz0887 yeh that could work. Someone on our detailing group on Facebook has a vauxhall corsa van and that's got a water tank but has a high payload
Really interesting even though I am not a professional in any way shape or form. What struck me was the pricing - seems about right. Our local hand car wash at Tesco will charge £26 - more for a big car - with all the issues to do with dirty equipment, harsh chemical etc. In view of this £50 for a safe professional valet seems reasonable. How often do your customers have this done?
Hello Peter, i used to have so many prices and it was over complicated so I switched things up and now stick to £50 maintenance valets some clients are every 2 weeks. Some may even say come back in few days
Great video as always. I use my car as I haven't got the van I fit everything in if need to take more items then George the hoover sit up front with me
@@epicautomotivedetailing There's a fundamental flaw with doing it without a water supply the client may not have an outside tap and or allow u to use it
I would need some sort of marquee working here in Australia, I've just washed my wife's car this morning and by 8am it's 32 degrees and expecting to reach nearly 40. It would make it a really hard job for a professional.
Very valid points you made there Dave. Always wise to clarify with the client/customer exactly what needs doing and carry only what you need to get the job done. Fewer items to carry and sort out and of course less expense as no separate vehicle. It's only when the customer asks for something extra or they were economical with the truth would you need extra items. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Karl, when I started out I had a real tough time and made many mistakes working on bad cars in bad weather so it took many years to get good ones like this and I'm fortunate now that I got clients who have power and water. I'm thinking of getting a Skoda yeti or something instead of the van
Hello i think its 8 litres. It comes from a company called frogchem. I use different dilution rates based on how bad a car is so sometimes add a little extra for dirty cars
100% agree man I always try to work my best around them as a lot of customers expect when they have kids they will get crumbs, bits etc all over again most people are quite the same with that sort of thing but definitely leave them in if possible or in the other case be very clear to your customer before removing them if that’s what your process would rather be either way that sort of thing be very clear on what your doing before you get going with a hoover 👍🏼💎
@@cobbledetailing4438 In a regular school run car its the muckiest part! I'd put it clearly on the receipt that the car seats have been removed and must be checked prior to use. They're a nightmare to get right
In the shop. We ask customers to remove them. If need help we do. But we don’t put them back in. In the USA you get sue for everything. It’s a liability thing. We don’t want a customer to say their child got hurt or die because we put it back in wrong.
Interesting that you use a ceramic spray. Is there any reason you choose this over an all in 1 wash and wax shampoo or ceramic shampoo? As these would cut down the amount of time spent on the car and could still be used in the rain

Hi mate! First of all great vid, great charisma and good skills...I used to do this for Secure Valeting working for BCA (British car auctions) but didn't go the extra mile with valeting. Still I enjoyed it and became passionate about it and start thinking more about this lately. I was just curious if you can give me a start up price (no van or car required in the price) for tools, products...roughly. Also is it worth spending 5 6 + hours on a car if you can provide other services more in depth, such as wax, polishing...or would be better to stick to 2 h £50 a car taking your example. Thank you and good luck !
Hi Dave, how do you sell your maintenance program? What happens if a customer has a really bad car but he booked for a Standard 50£ valet? Usually they say "not too bad" but when you get there it's full of dog hair and sand....how do you manage customer's expectations and charge extra? That's something i struggle with...i feel that i might disappoint the customer by charging him more even if his car is really bad and needs extra time
On my website I put terms and conditions on my price list. So the maintenance program only qualifies for certain vehicles. So on my maintenance program I put 30 mins max in vacuum cleaning so once that 30 mins is up I'm done and they have to pay extra.
Just starting out here… can I ask, when using the hose and connecting it to customers water supplies, is that ever a challenge? Do you have/need lots of different adapters & is there certain hoses you recommend? Sorry for the million questions
Hello its never a problem. Those people that say its essential to have a water tank are completely wrong. Look not everyone has an outside water supply and thats ok because sometimes you can't say yes to everyone. Most taps have the same screw thread so ive never had a problem. for £10 you can get a loads of adapters :)
Do you class a standard valet as like a full valet that includes shampooing and wet vac seats? Or is it just wash outside, hoover inside & dress inside? Just curious hope you don't mind me asking. I do shampoo and wet vac seats and carpets in a full valet but to do it takes me atleast 4 hours per car to give a full valet.
No standard valets are only available to clients who have had a full Valet so it's an exclusive service which guarantees only clean cars. Believe it or not the idea works incredibly well
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks for the reply dude, I totally agree with clients needing a full valet before qualifying for standard valets makes sense to have a clean car just to maintain. Thank you, unfortunately there is a rare occasion where you simply can't do it. But when you look at the odds of that it's pretty rare in most cases.
@@epicautomotivedetailing ok cheers .

Great insight into a day in the life of a mobile car valet
Not PG tips but it did the job 👍
Amazing work! Do the customers mind if you use their electric and water for the pressure washer and hoover?
I had thought of getting a van ( I haven't started my business yet) I am now looking at getting a trailer that can carry a water tank, Generator and all the other bits and pieces. This possibly saves on fuel insurance and road Tax.
I think once u get a good regular client base u could easily make do without a tank and still do well from it
Where can you fill up a water tank legally?
I mainly use Gyeon and Bilt Hamber. Brands like Meguiars have too many products and variations of the same product, I can't be dealing with that
It's a minefield my friend
Nice one, I had a zafira once (the first shape) was alright had plenty of space. If it works for you then great 👏
don't get me wrong I'd love a fancy van but the way things are needs must keep these great videos
Great video & information thank you.
Thanks Dave. Appreciate the comments and the support as always 👏🙏
never turn down a cup of tea you might be glad of it one day no matter how rough it is
To be fair it wasn't that bad lol.
What r u spraying first...pre-wash, bug remover?
really good video! thanks!
Thank you that's kind of you
How are the clients about not having a water tank? Do you carry a multitude of hose to tap adaptors?
Great channel.
honestly at first i was worried but soon realised clients never minded. sure you couldn't do some jobs but it was never a do or die situation. I just took the loses with the wins
When you get a really muddy car. What do you do with the mud that comes off the car when you're at a customer's home?
Very rare occasion I give driveway a quick blast off. But only basic cleaning
Hi buddy
What products are your go to products please?
What ceramic spray was you using?
Love the ideas of the general car valet you have shown here .
Great video by the way
Thank you very much mate. I'm using brilliance by bear car care. (UK Brand)
Hey there great stuff! Do you have a video with your set up and equipment?
Hello my friend yes I got a business playlist with few van videos in
another fantastic video
Thanks again!
Such a lovely amazing video. Thank you buddy
Thanks for watching 🙏
theres never one chemical company you can buy from and be 100% happy with all products mix n match can be fun
Yeh I love trying new brands and definitely seen some great ones this year
Really interesting even though I am not a professional in any way shape or form.
Some may even say come back in few days
with clutter in cars i do an inside first then out baby seats i put back in back to front or not movem at all
I hate removing seats but gotta be done 👍
Where's your Pump Sprayer from? Love the video
Thank you. It's frogchem (UK website)
Great video fella 👌
Thanks mate appreciate it 😃
Great video as always. I use my car as I haven't got the van I fit everything in if need to take more items then George the hoover sit up front with me
Lol I remember when Henry hoover used to sit in the front. Family sit in the back Henry up front 😂
@@epicautomotivedetailing exactly priorities there mate ain't it cheers 👍
Great work! How did you run the pressure washer without a water tank?
relied on outside tap my friend
@@epicautomotivedetailing There's a fundamental flaw with doing it without a water supply the client may not have an outside tap and or allow u to use it
@@PuzzlePicPlayhouse fair point but from my many years it's been a very tiny percentage so it's worth a risk for anyone starting without a tank 💪
I would need some sort of marquee working here in Australia, I've just washed my wife's car this morning and by 8am it's 32 degrees and expecting to reach nearly 40. It would make it a really hard job for a professional.
We never really get many days like that. The weather sounds great for relaxing but working in, no way. I struggle in the heat
@@epicautomotivedetailing I'm from the UK originally and struggle with the heat, it hit 40.5 today and it's not summer yet lol
@@tonyw3250 sounds lovely (well not for work) but still lovely
machine polishing is separate thing you know the clients after a while how bad it gets
Yeh once you have a good relationship with clients its no biggy even if you forget the polisher!
Loved the video! I see you using the Charles hoover, is this a better option over the George? Not sure if its worth spending the extra on a george
That's why I went for Charles identical twin motor. Same vacuum without the sprayer.
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks so much for the reply! Ill get the charles then :)
@@llliiillliiiiiilll this is the only Charles you can trust 😂
What dilution did you use for the AS TFR in your pump sprayer? Was it a 5L sprayer too? Thank you 🙂
Hello i think its 8 litres. It comes from a company called frogchem. I use different dilution rates based on how bad a car is so sometimes add a little extra for dirty cars
top video again 👍 also do you rate autosmart products.
Thanks mate appreciate the support
Golden rule! Leave the child seats in unless the customer removes them
very true!
What’s being done is a mini detail which is what we call it here. Wash and quick cleaning the interior.
Not forgetting if you have a towbar on your car you could always use a box trailer.. got to be cheaper than buying a van.
I know few people who do that. I couldn't do the reversing trailer thing lol
Interesting that you use a ceramic spray. Is there any reason you choose this over an all in 1 wash and wax shampoo or ceramic shampoo? As these would cut down the amount of time spent on the car and could still be used in the rain
I runing a mobile car detailing firm, in Norway, where it is rain. snow ice. wind. sun. I do busses, cars, bikekes. and all mobile.
But here I need a tent and heater. a genrator, and more. since I also do polishing and wox. deap clean seats and leather. and the rest of the car inside.
winows treatment and do not forget the pastic. you can also polishin 2 c....just cold....and the wax has to sit for a longer time.
So I know about how it is.
But I am gone have a trailer for it. so I don't need to fill up the family car with thing every time and lose 30 min everytime.
ohhh I don't have space for it all in my estate car, even if it is a mb 211. witch is big.
thanks a lot. and all the best.
Amazing you sir are a legend 🏆. Massive respect to you.
Ps please film some of your day to day stuff in the snow and ice. I'd watch that

Could you talk about the power hose you use ?
Hello Alan yes of course i may film a video today. Next week I'm filming some very special cars for the channel. Are you a valeter? Love to hear from people about how they do things
What do you use as a power source for your vacuum and pressure washer.?
I am trying to look for a good mobile option.
To be honest you dont need a generator. The majoirty of clients will always be more than happy to let you use theres
Great video once again just a silly question what's the best generator to use on pressure washers Andy
Hello mate I don't actually bother with generator I use extension lead
Hi, new to mobile valets , just got small van . Do ya always ask customer if ya have outside tap." Or can I use ya electric . Those 2 things seem my awkward moments at mo , in time compressor and water tank I suppose . Help ful vid , thanks
If they are new then yes. I built up a good relationship over the years so it isnt something that happens over time. You definitely need to step out your comfort zone and just explain if you are new etc...
Where does the water come from for the jet wash!
Customers supply
GBP50 for a car wash is expensive or not in UK? In Hong Kong, it is normally below GBP20 for casual wash, some cheap machine wash around GBP10
No way that's cheap. In the UK an average price for a mobile clean is around 35-50 GBP. 🙂
For the standard valet. Do you only use the bucket method. Or do you use the foam too?
Great video thanks, I like using MADCOW brand cleaning products 👍🏻
Thank you. Haven't used them products yet
I didn't realise the tfr can be used on the bodywork. What makes do you prefer?
Go Detailing TFR is really good at the moment
I tell them to remove anything big,
Seat pram etc
Good call 👏
Hi mate ive made an entire video on this question. Do go check it out. Its my budget business guide. I reveal total prices for everything at the end
@@epicautomotivedetailing just seen it 10x for replying. Keep doing what you do cuz you're amazing at it.
Why don’t you use the AutoSmart stuff mate? I genuinely like their Wheel Dressing, Duet Wash and Wash, TFR Tardis is actually ok?
I did all the time mention them in all my older videos. Business had been going well so tried different brands to mix it up. The tfr is great 👌

Hi Dave. What kind of wheel brush did you use please and how much?
Hello I use wheel Woolies and yum cars brushes. They all in offer for black Friday. They are the best 👌
@@epicautomotivedetailing amazing thank you, and do you recommend a specific type of hose or will any do the job aslong as it’s a good length?
In your standard valet do you dress the tire and plastic trim?
What if you wanted to use to my own water and electricity. Can I make that happen with just a normal car or would I need a van
Hello mate. we recently made a video on this subject a few days ago. Hope that helps
I've started to push this in my business now too and find it has totally changed the game for me.
Loving the content, keep up the great work! Would love to see a video on how best to approach full valet shampooing and wet vac in terms of being under time constraints and what you would recommend as the quickest and most efficient method to approach this task. Its something I struggle with as I take ages doing it incase I miss something.
Did you use clients water and electricity?
Yes 100% no shame in that. People will always be accommodating
Are you using the clients water?
im looking at starting a mobile car cleaning company in a hatchback, however i feel cheeky to use the customers own water supply to clean the car, is that normal? would i not lose out on business using their water?
Best car vac I can get is Stanley fat max
Never heard of that brand over here?
So my Grand Voyager with 5 foldable seats under the floor should be good enough ? :)
Yes 100% long term you will probably want to move on to a van but short term just to get started it's great 👌
