I’m a newby (somewhat) to nascar and this is a first for me listening to Jaime McMurray and he is a funny guy… very real!!!! Yes!!! He and Dale Jr would be great announcers!!!
Those dudes had a blast when they were all single. In the early 2000s, money being thrown at all of them, NASCAR at the height of it's popularity. It was a wonderful time to be a young driver.
2010 I was at the Daytona 500 When Jamie McMurray won but I was pulling for Junior. He finished second. It was a great race after that interview when Jamie won the 500 became a fan of his what a great guy.
Going to listen to this episode! Always liked McMurray. He's a knowledgable racer, and just an overall great guy. Hope he gets an opportunity to be in the booth more often.
Jamie never had the massive success in cup, but he when he did win he made it count. Daytona 500, brickyard 400, dude hunted crown jewels. And always liked him as a driver, always funny. Never a dick to media. Glad to see him find success and peace post nascar career
As a man this conversation makes me alittle sad. I use to always just shake things off no matter if it’s physical, mental or emotional. I’ve learned a lot on all of those respects though and I’m glad popular people are bringing these things to light.
I wished all your podcasts were like this where you could watch instead of listen or is there a way you can watch the whole podcast instead of listening to it I would rather watch it. I love watching your guises reactions.
Oh yes I remember that one time that Danica had her rear end plug fall out. I also wear glasses for far away and up close. I don't have the ability to put contacts in.
I wanna know what really good team is hitting up Jamie! 😂 I know NASCAR likes the crapshoot plate racing for TV, but I really wish theyd find a way to get plate racing back to the style it was on 2001-07. As a fan, I enjoy it more the way Jamie and Dale described it - where the drivers were a bit more in control of their own situations. The way wreck just happen anywhere and take out anyone now is not as fun.
Jamie was alwayas a consistent driver, i feel like if he stayed at Ganassi during his first stint instead of going to roush he could of won more races and possibly even a championship.
I love Junior's explanation of the change in restrictor plate racing. You used to be able to race and make a difference, starting with the COT it went down hill. It's really not watchable anymore, then NASCAR went and made the best 1.5'er in Atlanta another unwatchable speedway race.
@@michaelsamson3276 I think you might have missed the point. It wasn't being critical I just thought it was funny! I have known for a long time that drivers don't pay attention to the gauges they are busy concentrating on other more important things
I know Dale Jr. for sure got scared when he had that fire in the road race he lost his edge. Once you have that fear it's over as a race car driver or any other risky sport.
Dale I can't believe you don't wear any contacts when you race! I recommend getting fit for some. You've been solid top 5 in Xfinity lately, with proper vision I bet you get a damn win! I use them for anything I do motorsports related (dirtbiking, snowmobiling, etc) and would probably be dead without em.
Jamie McMurray story, In Arkansas a friend of a friend had an asphalt late model #60. They hired Jamie to qualify the car and race it. He never got the car qualified his whole stint in the car. They hired my friend's brother-in-law to drive the car and he qualified the car the 1st race. The next time they saw Jamie, he was running Cup. My buddy says he used to put Jamie in a head lock and knuckle his head.
Oh, so you was there huh Maverick. The person who told me the story, I've know for 30 years or more and he doesn't lie. We also worked together at the time this was going on. Mike would go to the races with them as his brother-in-law was driving the car and help them out. Now Jamie was long gone by this time. So I don't know his side of the story. But I have no reason to doubt my friend..@@Maverick____1
The concussion issues were known at the time and both of these guys and their PR people went after writers trying push for baseline testing. Its all a big story now but we all knew McLucky and Dale Jr both had problems.
I definitely agree with them that the restrictor plate racing has changed from like 2018 to now. it's not nearly as exciting as it was back then or even better in the pre-COT era..
Don't never ever, EVER never feel comfortable or safe in any race . Oh yaw just said that, right ? It'll be kool if you did. I wish I could have seen Mike's reaction to the Danica comment
Hey Jamie McMurray still looks as square as ever and we learned what was up Danicas ass so often. Her rear end plug finally came out. Is Jamie still with Rustys daughter? I like Jamie McMurray he is one of those drivers who was just short of being a Jeff Gordon, Tony Stewart, or Dale Jr.
Could you imagine how awesome the races would be with Dale Jr, Jamie McMurray and Allen Bestwick calling them?
This is perfect
Almost. Swap Jr and Jamie for Andy and DJ and now you’re talkin!
Exactly the combo I was thinking of while watching these videos!
👍
“Danicas rear end plug fell out” ahh the wording on that one 😂
I mean..no man seems to keep her content. 🤣
Burning Man must have been wild.
@@matthewjohnston1400 HAHAHA!!!!!! 🤣🤣
Something tells me that was a giant plug
That was awesome. Lol.
Best quote of the year, "Danica's rear end plug fell out"! LOL

Thanks for calling the Xfinity cars, Busch cars. I do that all the time.

This interview with Jamie McMurtry is gold. Thankyou

Sounded so wrong.......

Always like Jamie great personality, great race car driver. I'd like to see both of you guys getting in to a couple of races together.
"Danica's rear-end plug fell out", I bet that was a mess...
Yep, wrecked many of men
Such a great conversation. I relate with the concussions and vision changes. Tough getting older.
Love the honesty.
Always liked Jamie Mc. Always has a smile and good attitude and intelligent
Now that’s funny! The sight comparison… luv❤ both of you
Going to listen to this episode! Always liked McMurray. He's a knowledgable racer, and just an overall great guy. Hope he gets an opportunity to be in the booth more often.
Jamie Mac, Mark Martin, Dale Jarrett all stand up honorable men.
goofy youth pastor vibe and haircut. pass

Jaime was always one of my favorites..... you can tell what a great guy he is... wow...
I've heard those gauge conversation with him and his crew chief that's hilarious!

I’m guessing Danicas rear end plug is getting some mention on the Twitter….
How the hell did that make the final edit?…
Are you kidding me Mike!😂
Just great stuff.. Thanks Jamie!
Jamie was always a stand up guy !!!!
Jamie always ran great at Martinsville and it doesn't get talked about enough

Watching Jaimie from the beginning of his career and watching this makes me realize I under appreciated him even knowing he was a great guy
OMG I laughed so damn hard on this one .. Great interview, all of you ..
My favorite driver from when I was a kid. Loved rooting for Jamie Mac!
I was hollering when he said that!
Such an underrated guy

Dale Jr unable to read the gauges but still races like a pro 🤘🏻
I wish we had the old style ASA cars and series... have some drivers like Jr and McMurray run ASA cars on short tracks... I think ppl would love that
I can’t believe he’s 47. He easily looks 10 years younger.
Give him a ride Dale!!!!!!
Jamie thinking his wife is a physic, seeing 10 seconds in the future. Lol that was a good part, thanks!
Dale not being able to read his gauges is hilarious. They are on the dash for a reason and he can't even freakin' see them. lol
How's the water gauge look?....
I don't know which one is it?
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Great show!!! ❤️
Jamie is real good on TV.
GAUGES WHAT GAUGES LOL, THAT'S TO FUNNY.
Oh yes I remember that one time that Danica had her rear end plug fall out. I also wear glasses for far away and up close. I don't have the ability to put contacts in.
Funniest comment Mike has ever made on the Dale Jr. Download - wanting to give both Junior and McMurray an eye exam right now! Haha!
Great entertaining video !
Dale Jr. and Jamie Mac talking about failed eyesight. Classic! We're not young anymore! Ah, I love my progressive lenses! 🤓
You should ask Jaime if he wants to drive in a race for you next year.
Danica's rear end plug fell out? Really? Diff. plug would've sounded better.
This is hilarious !!!!!!!!!!

I think him leaving and coming back to ganassi was the resurgence he needed a 500 and brickyard 400
@@LilTwix81 you are exactly right! If he’d stayed at ganassi he’d retired 3-5 years earlier
That is crazy. I never knew until now that Dale had bad vision.

Nexgen car actually races well at Atlanta, I see your point though
A professional driver that doesnt know his gauges is like a pilot not seeing the artificial horizon ❤🤣
You don't need an artificial horizon unless you are instrument flying. Driving a race car ain't that.

Dario Franchitti walked away in his prime soon after his friend Weldon passed. Immediately comes to mind

Get some Lasik correction surgery and ditch the glasses and contacts
Okay Junior you got to put them in a car at Martinsville let him win a clock for his boy

Jamie reminds of Will farell 😢
Maybe get him in the 88 for a one off or a couple next year
That would be awesome to see Jamie Mac run the 88 in the Xfinity series for JRM.
Danica need to keep that rear in plug in. She can’t be letting all them hit the wall. Good lord. That’s not safe at all.
❤
Is there anyway to watch the podcast with the whole video ?
yes if you have a peacock subscription
