Good commentary
How about a video on installing the clutch hydraulic master cylinder and adjustment?
Great idea! We'll have to do that one day.
A good quick tutorial. However, music playing when Dick is speaking is distracting.
to remove slip yoke does it have to be out of gear
No, you can take the slip yoke out in any gear, it has no effect.
Was the stud already installed on the transmission, or did it come with the clutch linkage assembly?
When you purchase this hydraulic kit from us with the transmission, the stud comes installed on the transmission.
you prolly dont care but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..?
I was stupid lost the login password. I would love any tricks you can give me!
@Nathanael Diego instablaster :)
@Roland Jackson thanks for your reply. I got to the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now.
Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
@Roland Jackson It did the trick and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
Does Scott know you're using his cart...?
Shhh!
Uh, didn't you forget the shifter fitment? And what about clutch master cylinder?
This Belair already had a floor shifted manual transmission and an SST hydraulic kit in it, so we didn't have to install the master cylinder or modify the floor. (You can read the instruction manual for the hydraulics here: shiftsst.com/media/wysiwyg/pdfs/2017June/MAG-00411_GM-Muncie_Hydraulic_Manual_RevD.pdf)
If you purchase the TKO from us and tell us what the TKO is going in, it will come to you in the proper shifter location already, like this one did. This TKO's shifter is in the front position, which is perfect for a Belair with a bench seat.
All of our installation manuals are available online for detailed instructions here: shiftsst.com/installation-manuals
U didn’t explain if this fits a factory bench seat
It does fit a bench seat.
I don't like quick tutorials like that, I know switching over to hydraulic clutch system you have to measure and check for end play or clearance between clutch and throw out bearing, also the angle of the transmission not only the angle of the crossbar. And yes how it affects using a bench seat compared to buckets... not to much info....
You can read our in depth instructions online: shiftsst.com/installation-manuals
And always feel free to call us with your questions. We have several knowledgable people who can not only let you know what to expect, but walk you through the installation if you have any trouble. 888-609-0070.
What is the part number for that throw out bearing?
CAA-00111 If you need one, you can call us to purchase it, we don't have it on the website right now. 888-609-0070
now you have a noise coming from bell housing that is the throw out bearing rattling because of no nut holding it down
The throwout bearing won't rattle because the pressure plate fingers press it against the transmission with constant pressure. The bearing doesn't rotate because of the pin and because of the way the bearing is machined to mate up to the bearing retainer. The throwout bearing cannot move.
@@SilverSportTransmissions I'm looking at buy a tko 600 5 speed. I have a 2002 chevy 1500 will I need to go with middle shifter?

@@getreal1702 You should give us a call, Jeff or Gene can help you figure out what you'll need to install TREMEC transmission in your application. 888-609-0070
What is the deal with all the " measuring the indicated run out measurement and adjustment he's speaking of? What is being 'measured then adjusted' and why? I/we have been pulling and installing transmissions in and out of cars and trucks over 30 years with no such failures or damage related to any such thing . Taking auto transmissions out and placing manuals in their place and vice versa has been going on since time immemorial,. No one I ask around the shop young or old has ever heard of this either.
He's talking about "dialing in" the bellhousing, it's extremely important to do this step. There are a lot of spinning parts between the crankshaft of the engine and the driveshaft and they are spinning very fast. If they're not lined up exactly, it can cause vibrations and damage. Read more here: shiftsst.com/articles/bellhousing-dial-in/
The TKO has Tapered Roller bearing that is shimmed for in and out play so you have to adjust the run out.
If you've ever installed a Lakewood Scatter shield, you have to go through the same process.
