    Glad I found you.
    Psychology can use some Simplifying.
    Some random questions:
    1. Why do we even talk about "being Intentional" at all? Everything we do is intentional or we wouldn't have done it. Unless it was pressured and rushed sudden impulse. Most of us (i hope) dont go thru life doing 98% of everything "by accident". So why say it at all? I cant help thinking someone out there just wanted to feel-good-about-themself by getting to be the one who invented the latest Buzzword. sigh. Another example is:
"Transparency". Doesn't this just mean "being OPEN or unhidden" or "acting with integrity"? Fine. So why not just say THAT?
Along with Simplifying, Psychology, in my layman's opinion, should do some housecleaning within the field.
    1. Whatever happend to something being "ABNORMAL" or deviant? In 1960, we would have said so. But today, its all about not having one's feeling hurt (everyone-and-their-dog has been "traumatized") and we have a less resilient society of wimpier people! We are SO focused on "affirming and validating" that (in my layman's opinion) we end up enabling and "giving permission" for unhealthy conditions to just go on for months and months and years. Which leads to:
    2. Do we CURE it? or just accept it? Do we "get over" it, or just "treat" and "manage" it forever? How pathetic. If its incureable, then come out and say so.
    3. Narcissism. No one likes being around folks who are domineering, uncaring, "steamrollers". Rightfully so. But----no one talks about (or makes videos about) "the other end of the scale." Why not? For example, nobody makes any video about "over-emphasizing Empathy". Empathy is all-the-rage right now. And its not a bad thing. We should have it. But----how much should we have? (no one says). Unlimited?? Ask yourself: do we do that with any other emotions? Which ones? Why? How is it different? (but where are anyone's videos about that?...i.e...the other side of any coin?). Is someone really an uncaring Narcissist--OR--is the other person really a one-crisis-after-another drama queen and our empathy has been exhausted from them but we are afraid to call them a dram queen (or dude) because we are afraid WE will be gaslighted as "having no empathy" and being labeled a Narcissist? So, which is it really? Who decides? How do you tell? Its at the point now where, for almost any video we might make on whatever Psychological topic, we could also use a 2nd video pointing out the dangers of, and criticising the opposite or other end of the scale, so to speak. But this isnt being done. People just hammer on one side. Which leads to---
    4. Why, should any therapists at all, when making a video on whatever topic, whether its Depression, Anxiety, Narcissim or whatever you wanna pick---why can't any therapist alert the public to the symptoms, and tell us how to deal with it and "get-it-all-said" on any Psychological topic, in say, 7 or even 8 videos? And then move on, to some other topic? Seriously! Does anyone "need" to make 20-plus videos on Narcissism? or anything else? But, some do. Therefore, can you really blame any viewer for thinking: "Wow! This therapist is just tooooo close to that problem and very likely had, or still has, some serious issues with it."
    5. The DSM. On the one hand, it is a valuable reference tool. On the other hand, the world today has gotten much more political, and politically-correct, than say, in 1960. Therefore, "research" and studies can be made to fit agenda's. And the DSM is already "bloated" and only getting fatter all the time. Who dares to question the experts? No, they are not always wrong. but chances are that Freud, Adler, Rogers, Karen Horney, or William James didn't have anywhere near the pressure to have their work "peer-reviewed." While we don't want a bunch of "quacks", it has become "rulership by the committee". This suppresses new "individual thought" from someone new who may come along. Good luck to any new newcomer who may conclude things "against already officlally established DOCTRINE" .And so Psychology becomes that-much-more like some rigid church. So much for "critical thinking".
    6. We now have online RUclips therapists making videos criticising(or giving their analysis of) other therapists! More and more videos where people are "correcting" other peoples "bad information" that is being put out. While we all have the right to disagree with anyone, and say so in a video, still, it comes across too much like too many people trying too hard to make-a-name-for-themselves online by sounding like "they know better" than the next guy online. Funny that you don't see the American Psychological Association making videos about "correcting the mis-information online. At least so far, I haven't seen it. Food for thought.
Dont get me wrong. No doubt there are many GOOD therapists who are truly helping people! Too FEEL better. And gain more Insight. Thats GOOD!
But as the above shows, there's soooo much more that needs addressing. Elephants in the room. Hard questions or embaressing situations that dont get videos made about them. But I'm an unlicensed Layman who likes to read. All this is my opinion. Looking forward to more of your videos. Simplifying is good. :) #simplifiedpsychology
