    Hello. Nicce to meet you. I hope you go back or get notices from subscribers who are watching old videos. I have been looking and enjpying your channel, your skill, your creativity, your generosity and your accent. American here: Mary from Maryland USA. I’m a life long, and long lived, sewer, painter, musician, knitter, baker etc. i was astounded at your sharing so much detail and tricks to making stuffed figures. Your ability to see an image in pattern pieces is amazing. Your minds eye has 20-20 vision to figure out what a flat piece of a sewing machine should be. I better stop, have more to say, but will wait until I can join your group of advanced artists. So, other subscribers, ‘bear’ with me for this lengthy comment. Yes, I do Pay lots of things forward too. Such a nice example. Cheers.

    An AMAZING video! I am new to felt projects and would love to make ornaments. I have tried, with little success because the felt is too thin and flimsy in the smaller, delicate areas and falls apart. This looks to be a game changer and I'm now very excited to try again and hopefully have felt ornaments to give for Christmas 2024.

    Thank you for sharing your skill, craft and tips. You have made this project a lot easier for me. I am trying to do an art project with a student on an IEP. We are doing a felt hanging mobile, based on the book "Around the world in 80 Days" by Jules Verne. But I was stuck on how to make this easier for the student as they struggle with fine motor skills and for me to prep it without using hot glue. Between your video and another felter/crafters video I think I have figured out how to make this project possible for the student and myself. (Going to use a tiny hole punch to create holes in the felt, trade in the small metal needle for a bigger plastic darning needle and use fusible webbing to attach the details. I will applique and punch holes in advance and the student will stitch, stuff and hang the pieces.) I would have never thought of using fusible webbing. Genius!

    I'm glad I watched this before using felt! I bought a bolt of felt at an estate sale, it's really just wrapped around stiff fiberboard, no info on fiber content. It's black, it's pretty thin, and it's kind of rough to touch. Not like the craft felt I've seen. The lady used to be a theater costumer and she must have used it for that...? I haven't unwrapped it and measured yet.

      Hi! My latest Video, Needle felting with Flat felt, has a Link in the description box for my Felt Supplier here in Oz, they ship overseas too. It is fabulous quality and 2mm thick and very inexpensive. I hope this helps! I would only use very thin felt for Appliqué.🥰

      @@payitforward9442 Well, I unpinned that black "felt" bolt and looked inside the fold. It appears to be fake fur instead of felt. What I thought was hard felt was actually the back side of the fake fur. It is 56" wide and there is about 3 yards of it. It would make a pretty cool stuffed animal, if it stretches enough like it seems it should. It is sort of short-haired fur, like you might see on a stuffed bear or a real horse or a real smooth-coated dog. I will wait until I have some practice with regular fabric before I try the fancy stuff.

    Hi, I am just about to start my journey into making small felt animals. I have made teddy bears and needle felted animals. I loved this intro to preparing fabrics. I would like to make a babies mobile for my niece, you could please let me know whether I should use 100% wool felt or washable felt. If you recommend washable felt do you have a Aussie supplier you recommend. Thanks.

      Hi Gillian, I would use washable acrylic felt for your mobile, my supplier here in OZ is craft.com.au 🥰

    Thank you for sharing your very helpful tips. I make felt dolls and I found these tips to be game changers! How to you recommend I treat doll faces and bodies before sewing? Heat bond or woven interfacing? Same with doll dresses. Would you use interfacing or heat bond. I'm so glad I found these tips! With these options I can create without using glue.

    • @payitforward9442

      Hi Jennifer, I’m glad you found it useful! I would go with fusible woven interfacing for both, it gives you strength but retains the flexibility 🥰

    Cam you use felt for cosmetic bags and such, for the lining

    • @payitforward9442
      @payitforward9442  4 года назад +2

      Hi Mary Ann, I wouldn’t use felt for the lining because it will pick up all the cosmetic dust etc. However Felt would be a great outer fabric!🥰

    I have the interfacing but it don't have a paper backing it sticks only on one side.

    Lisa this was a wonderful tutorial. I learned a lot. Quickie question, so if I understood correctly, heat and bond doesnt have to be sandwich between to materials. It can just be used and ironed onto one side of a material?? 🤔

    • @payitforward9442
      @payitforward9442  2 года назад

      Hi Angela, I really don’t use a specific brand, I’ve found they all work well. What is most important is that it is a medium weight and you always use a very hot iron and protective cloth when applying. 🥰
