Damn this was insane, you packed so much knowledge into 10 minutes.
Josh has gems mate
Cheers bud
compressor > click the lengthen arrow > click sidechain > input: kick > turn up gain and your bass won't conlict with the kick
you dont always have to do this, if you mix things right you can avoid it or use very little which is the best approach. You dont want it to duck too much it will sound amateur. As you can see in the video his curve is very small.
Best production video ive ever seen
That bass line is fiillth 🔥
Trust fucking midi sounds illegal, less is more, banging
It indeed is!
I don't know if you will read this, but I just got into making house tracks for fun and this is one of the filthiest baselines I've heard. Your work is great man!
lfo trick blew my mind
Never fails!
Very helpful, thank you Josh
Giving all the game, thank you so much!
thank you. I'm at the point where I make decent tracks (4 years in lol) but its the little things that start to add up I'm hoping to add to my production
Love this video - cant seem to fine the basic house fm bass on our Ableton? Any ideas ? Thanks guys x
I’d guess it’s a suite feature. I’d learn to use a synthesiser like serum anyway.
@@hennerz3809 thank you
Josh can you guide us on how to achieve low groove like Wheats, Niteplan how they layer the basslines and still manage to get a darker vibe what is the science of the notes they use. It seems whenever i layer somertjing doesn‘t feel dark even if it‘s filtered. I struggle so much with that and can‘t even find a good tutorial on this kind of style.
Any luck finding anything dude?
I’d say sound selection and tweaking some presets close to the desired sound.
the basic fm house bass sounds totally different in my ableton
Just twist the handles like in the video ;)
Wht the only minor i see in the chord folder called minor tim? its not the same
So so good
thanks Ben!
What if I want to use a sound other than a stick Abelton sound? Say I have an audio clip of a bass note. Is it possible to use that as you did the basic fm house bass?
very nice video, congrats josh! 💙
great tips!
this was awesome. good job man!
muchas gracias desde cali Colombia
Where did you get that wavetable house bass preset? Cheers
Just an Ableton stock one
I think your ableton stock preset sounds amazing! I used the same one and copied your settings and mine still sounds like I have an extra oscillator or something and it doesn't sound good. What is your second oscillator shape?@@synthohubeducation
@@tylersneed7986 It could be plugins on his master channel making it sound different
class tutorial thanks
Goat
Interesting
Oh my god, I discovered a new rabbit hole here 😬..
need fl versions
Ableton >
@@synthohubeducation even so..why limit your audience
Unreal
Cheers Liam
:)
Sometimes I feel trolled when I watch videos like this. The instructor will be like "Here is it with XYZ" turns knob "and here is it without". Im just over here like ohhhhhh yaaaaa totally thats night and day (I hear literally no difference)
Get that hearing up.
youtube compresses videos to make them easier to stream and also, invest in good headphones
Subtle changes adds groove. You feel it more than hear it but ear training can help with this. Sound gym is good.
Mentions Jamie Jones, Chris Stussy and Nicky Romaro - You know this is gonna be some whack ass NPC fisher-esque music.
are you serious?
yes
@@synthohubeducation wow
I find is better to use transpose in scale. You choose root and play just white keys😂
